My whole experience at Atelier Mira was exceptional. The shop itself is very modern. Lots of space to move about and really look at the vast variety of frames and accessories available. They also offered me some coffee which was very kind of them. My eyewear specialist was Erika. She has such a kind, caring, and warm spirit. She made sure I felt like a priority and not just a customer. She did more than just hear me, she actively listened and paid attention to my likes and dislikes. We worked together and I tried on many different frames; I never once felt rushed. She suggested frames, based on my facial structure, that I would have never picked out. Erika was very clear and open about pricing. I picked a pair of frames and lenses that I am continuing to love. Every single day I get compliments on my glasses from strangers; it makes me light up and smile. I had the worse experience ever! Don't waste your time going there. The staffs are so rude and unprofessional.

Sometimes you are in a rut and committed to certain styles because you don't want to try anything new. Assia and other here will suggest frames to you that somehow are flattering and mind altering and you never would have picked them yourself because you didn't think they were you. Looks like a snobby shop but the people are very nice. Frames are reasonably priced when you are buying art, acquiring a carefully designed unusual set of frames. Places like Pearl Vision aren't cheap though completely generic. I believe paying 200 to 400 dollars more as the cost of art is worthwhile if you want something custom fitted to your face and style and is timeless because it is not following any trends. Example: I paid one thousand for progressive ultra non glare lenses and a made in France frames. At a generic shop it would still cost 700 to 800 dollars. Why not pay a little extra for something beautiful and timeless. read more

My experience at atelier mira was incredible from start to finish. I felt so taken care of during my consultation as the costumer service was amazing. The staff was very well educated and patient which I really appreciate. There was a wide selection of luxurious different frames and styles where I was finally able to find the perfect glasses for me. It would have been impossible for me to pick out frames myself so I really appreciate the attentiveness and willingness from the staff. I hope Erica (Erika?) is reading this, because I want her to know what happened to me after spending well over an hour basking in her amazing service. That is nothing. Nothing happened. I still have no new frames. I bought an AMAZING pair of frames a couple years ago, and they're just stellar. Constant compliments, great glasses, my favorite pair I have owned. Since I wear them daily now and have moved from contacts, I wanted a second pair (or third!) to rotate in. I bought them, and they're all wrong. With high-end eyewear being what it is this is a $1k mistake! So I'm super-gun shy now and afraid of making another costly mistake. Eric/ka is super gifted at knowing what looks good on your face, and she knows her inventory. She pulled some fantastic frames for me, and I left this store knowing I had winners to choose from. She's funny and patient and a joy to work with, as well as just GOOD at this. I would absolutely return here and say of all the optical shops I visited in the NYC area, this was my best experience. I happened by Atelier Mira after visiting my friend down the street. I was immediately attracted by the great frames in the window. It just so happened I had recently broken my prescription sunglasses and wanted to replace the frames without the expense of new lenses. I worked with Assia for a good hour trying different frames that I liked and would work with my lenses. She was terrific! We/I finally chose a frame and Erin stepped up to fit my old lenses into my new frames in an hour! This was such a wonderful experience I had to share it. Being in and around retail myself for many years, I really appreciate good service. There was one other sales associate whose name I didn't get who was also very nice and helpful. Beautiful space. Lovely designs. My favourite optical store. Excellent service and everybody that works there is wonderful. We spent two days in there and tried out a hundred different designs when my wife was getting a new pair of glasses. She liked the designs so much that I decided to surprise her with a pair of (prescription) sunglasses as well. A beautiful store with really interesting pieces for the face. My dancer/artist friend came in from Guatemala and immediately fell in love with it. Erin, the atelierista, was amazingly patient, knowledgeable, and just so pleasant. She could glean from my friend's wardrobe what styles she might go for, and offered lots of information about each piece of eyewear. Came in with my husband and child to extend my husband's not so small eyewear collection. The place looked super sleek and modern. Great ambience with an extensive selection. The french woman who helped us, I presume to be the owner, was fantastic. Gave nice feedback. She was very helpful in picking out things that complimented him. Little things were very nice. We were offered to clean and adjust my husband's glasses. She also gave us a nice recommendation for lunch. We took a few hours to stroll, and wound up coming back slightly after closing hours. We called in, and they were accommodating. We wound up purchasing a nice pair of Theos. Actually, it was the pair that she was wearing, except in a different color. Will definitely return! read more

Disappointing. First, the good: Beautiful store, the interior is fantastically designed. Was really looking forward to checking out this spot based on the lovely window display / vitrines. Price point is high, but no different from other optical shops carrying labels like Thierry Lasry. Now, the disappointing: a very select number of items are actually on display in the store, meaning the rest of the sunglasses are hidden away in (again, gotta give it to them) a beautifully designed drawer system. What's the issue here? The saleswomen I encountered were beyond reluctant to open the drawers and let me -- the customer -- decide what I wanted to try. I understand the motivations behind providing "atelier-grade" service, where the salespeople might courteously make suggestions based on what you're looking for, or what they think you might be looking for. Instead though, after asking if I could take a look and make my own selections, the salesperson went as far as to say, "we only pull frames appropriate for your facial structure" -- and that was precisely the moment I decided to take my business elsewhere. No need for anyone but me to decide or evaluate what goes on my face. If salesperson A is convinced that I can't wear oval frames, doesn't mean I can't try them on or buy them.
