We let him know that our son has celiac disease and it turned out that Nathan also has celiac disease. Because of this he was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful in helping us navigate the menu and choose safe options for our son. Even better our son was able to connect with Nathan and swap stories about living gluten free which meant so much to us as parents. That personal connection truly made the experience special. The atmosphere is fantastic and feels like a true cellar tucked away in the basement giving it such a cool and unique vibe. It felt like a hidden gem and a really fun place to discover. I also had a gluten free apple cider that was made locally and it was hands down one of the best ciders I have ever had. Between the outstanding service the care shown for food allergies and the unique setting this was an unforgettable visit. We will absolutely be back and highly recommend The City Cellar and Loft to anyone especially families navigating celiac disease.

The gumbo had a good flavor and was very filling; it had more shrimp and sausage than I expected. The service was good (4/5); our waiter was friendly and attentive. Our son has celiac disease, and Nick was incredibly knowledgeable and proactive, personally making sure everything was clearly communicated with the chefs so we felt completely comfortable and confident. The atmosphere was very relaxed yet attentive we never had to ask for a thing because Nick was always one step ahead and made sure we had everything we needed. On top of that, he took the time to recommend things to do while we're visiting, which was such a thoughtful touch. We don't live in town, but the downtown area is absolutely amazing, and after this experience, we can't wait to explore it more tomorrow in the daylight. And the food, hands down five stars across the board. We will absolutely be back when passing through, and if you're dining here, ask for Nick!

The sunchokes, golden beets, and squash with the salmon were amazing; they melted in your mouth, and the fennel and orange flavors were a nice touch (5/5). The tarragon cream was an excellent sauce; the only reason why I am not giving it a 5 is that the salmon itself was a little plain. The service was good but a little slow (4/5); the guy who brought out our food was really funny! The interior of the restaurant is also pretty nice (4/5). Overall, we are excited to come back and try more items, especially since they have a rotating seasonal menu! I am pretty confident they'll get a 5!

My wife ordered the n appetizer nachos for her meal, she couldn't finish them. They were huge, they did need some sort of a "wet" topping (queso, salsa, something). I had the double gonzo burger with Parmesan chips. If I had known the burgers were sure'nuff hand patties and thick, I would have only ordered the regular burger. I couldn't take a bite, had to remove a patty and eat it separately. It was cooked to the right temp, but it could use some seasoning. It was good, but just plain meat, no seasoning mixed in. Our waitress was attentive and never let my tea glass get to the bottom before bringing me another one!

1-Star Review (and that's being generous)…read more My wife and I were visiting home from Arizona and decided to try Ate Track Bar after several locals recommended it. We walked in expecting a fun, nostalgic spot with good food. Instead, we were hit with some of the most bizarre, unprofessional, and politically-charged décor I've ever seen in a business. Right away, we noticed signs pushing extreme right-wing political views plastered around the bar. It was uncomfortable, but we tried to shrug it off and assume maybe it was satire, maybe equal-opportunity joking. Then we saw the signs by the restrooms: "Restrooms - Republicans Only" and "Restrooms - Democrats Only." At that point, we realized this wasn't humor. It was just tacky. In 2025, with the kind of division this country is already dealing with, why would any business choose to alienate customers like this? As a consumer, I don't need - or want - your political views shoved in my face. I came to eat, not join a rally. We immediately decided to leave. Ironically, the hostess told us a table had just opened up, but there was no way we were staying after feeling that uncomfortable and unwelcome. The saddest part? My wife is a well-known influencer who was literally excited to do a fun, positive post about this place. Instead, we walked out offended and disappointed. Why lose customers over politics? Why create an environment where people feel judged or divided before they even sit down? Thankfully, we walked about 100 yards down the street to Table 20, where we were greeted warmly and had one of the most delicious lunches we've had in a long time. Night and day difference. Ate Track Bar might be a "nostalgic" spot for some, but for us, it was a harsh reminder that not every business is interested in welcoming all customers. If you're looking for good food and a place where you don't have to decode someone's political agenda just to eat, keep walking. There are better options right down the street.

So we thought we would treat our son and his wife (new parents of a 2 month old) for a nice dinner out as a family (sans baby). Service was slower than normal, but that wasn't the real issue. Our entrees were delivered before our soup and salads. They offered to take our entrees away and "keep them warm" until after our soup and salads came out. So we agreed. Our son's French onion soup was delivered just luke warm - not even hot. The salads were fine, though. Our daughter-in-law's steak was ordered medium rare, but it came out rare so it had to be sent back. Our son's chicken fingers were also undercooked and had to be sent back, but only after our son had already eaten some of the undercooked chicken. I ordered the signature "Appalachian Grill" dish and the potatoes were burnt. At this point there were so many issues that we asked to talk to the manager and he offered to remove the signature dish from the bill. Our son and his wife were so turned off that they couldn't even eat their "corrected" entrees. The bill came and it was over $150. The only food that we actually ate was the Pickles and Pups appetizer and 3 salads. I asked for the servers and managers names and made it clear that I was going to write a review and that we would not be coming back. After we placed our credit card on the check, the owner came out to our table and began to cuss us out. When I told him I would be writing a reivew, his response was "I am the king of 1 star reviews" and asked us to leave. So we grabbed our credit card and proceeded to leave. After we left the restaurant he approached us at our car and proceeded to threaten us and even called me a "punk ass bitch." I should've called the police becasue we were already outside at our car and it looked like he was going to physically attack us. Our son and his wife were waiting for us outside and witnessed his tirade. Our daughter-in-law was terrified that the ower was going to get physically violent. There was no reason for him to follow us outside and continue to berate us at our vehicle as we were in the process of leaving. Either the owner was intoxicated or he needs to go to anger management. I regret not calling the police.

We were a table of 8 dinners and had a fabulous meal and experience. We started with several appetizers that we shared- calamari, mussels, oysters, and spicy crab claws. All of them were outstanding with the mussels just inching out the calamari as my favorite. The sauce that the mussels were cooked in was on point- I haven't had mussels that outstanding since I was in France. We ordered a sundry of entrees amongst us and my crab cakes were very delicious. I did order the full entree and after the starters we had, I almost didn't finish the meal. Threes cheers to our server Ms Dorothy- she kept our beverages filled and the table tidy. Additionally, I need to point out that all of our entrees came out at the same time. That kitchen was humming. I will warn you- wear elastic waisted pants. You will need them!

There is a good selection of seafood and prices were not terribly unreasonable. My wife had an appetizer of fried green tomatoes with she said were good, and Ahi Tuna which came with green beans. She said the tuna was very good. (Not as good as she usually gets when we are visiting on the Gulf. Of Mexico.) I had Oysters Rockefeller which were excellent- large and tasty with plenty of cheese and spinach. I also had the Georgia Trout which was very tasty. Our server was prompt and helpful with selections. $90 for dinner for 2. No alcohol. Probably will return when we are in the mood for seafood.
