I have spent over $3,000 here in the past month and I went to return an item that broke due to the way that it was made (no protection on the glass where the nail goes) and there was a manager named Angie who treated me like a kid and told me because it wasn't broken when I bought it I could not return it and ironically it's been the cheapest item that I've purchased in this past month. It was a $14 item ...I don't think she has very good customer service skills. I'm not sure how she's in management, but there is another manager named Tina who on her behalf apologized and was very accommodating and willing to make things right and because of Miss Tina, I will be back! Just be aware if you plan on spending money with them because Angie is not willing to help you if anything goes wrong with their products! So sad. It's also the Holidays. I don't think corporate would be ok with this kind of customer service either. read more

Where has @ Home been all my life??? No Wonder Hubby didn't want me coming here! First time here and I spent 3hrs here. If my husband wouldn't have gotten hungry, I wouldn't have never left here! Lol. This place is amazing! It's every interior designer's dream place or heaven. I even came here for my birthday, lol. I was in awe of how much variety there is for just about anything you want for your house inside or outside! It's awesome and will be coming often now. Everything has great value it's trendy, convenient and best of all with great prices. I mean what more can you ask for in a warehouse art decor place? They constantly put things on sale and then when you get up to the register they say it's not on sale . Then they acted like I put the sale sticker on it. After I spent a lot of time in their sale isle looking at their clearance only to say it wasn't suppose to be there and they wouldn't honor it. There stuff seems cheap and it's a waste of time. I've shopped here quite a few times and always love the options. The customer service at check out is always spot on. Today, their system went down and was only taking cash. We're at the register, but the employees are standing towards the front, talking, look at us, and don't come over until we wave one down. That was the annoying part about today's visit. I love the store and items but absolutely cant stand the inconsistency at the registers. Every single time I check out the rules have changed. One time I was able to use all my AtHome Coupons at once, Next time I was only able to use 1 coupon per order. This past weekend I was told I could not use ANY of my coupons with out using my AtHome Credit card! WTF! Ive never had to use my at home credit card with my coupons. The ups and downs is like riding a roller coaster of bad policies and poor customer service. Cashiers are unsympathetic when they are the ONES doing this! UGH.... read more

Above all else, this At Home (AKA Garden Ridge Pottery v2.0) is my go-to for squeezing in extra FitBit steps (it's ridiculously huge), and teaching my teenagers how to drive (in the even MORE ridiculously ginormous parking lot. Seriously, that thing is no doubt clearly visible from space. Why in the name of Sweet Swaddled Baby J does ANY establishment need a lot that expansive, much less a business that seems to only need about 10 parking spaces at any given time?? I can't wrap my head around it. ) At Home basically boils down to a meatball-free version of Ikea... literally everything for the home and garden is available. I particularly like the selection of area rugs. And fun shower curtains. And giant metal letters with which to adorn your walls. And kitchenware. And funky shadow boxes. BUT...I avoid anything and everything remotely furniture-like - be that shelving, seating, tables, whatever - at all costs. Anything along those lines seems to be THE most poorly constructed, absolutely outlandishly overpriced junk I've ever laid eyes upon. Seriously. It's *bad*, on every level. They do offer a military discount though, so if you're looking to take advantage of that toward the purchase of, say, an adorable Tardis-shaped CD tower or a giant ceramic Labrador pup with a finger-food holding platter balanced on his head, At Home is the place. read more

I love this store, so much variety in home decor. It really is much nicer stock from Garden Ridge. I came by here to return some cushions I bought for my kitchen table chairs b/c the ones I bought were too small for the seat. I was so bummed out! You could walk for hours in here. But a word of advice.. dont bring your hubby in here blind if at all. Come in here first to do some recon. Then bring him to ck it out... get points by "walking right to what you want" and you will get mad points. bonus points for showing him some super expensive items so that whatever you buy is truly a "bargain". on a side note: None of this stuff is quality. it looks like its for staging a house. nothing in here is meant to "last". read more

The store itself is beautifully laid out and appealing but the women's bathrooms ARE NOT!! I went into the largest stall and it was a hot mess! Toilet paper on the floor, urine on the seat and around bolts near the bottom! This is ridiculous! They must only clean it once a week! Shame on Management! You would think that with the overpriced stuff they sell, a clean bathroom would show customers they appreciate their business. read more

While shopping at the athome store I asked an employee for assistance i was told I need to look up online using my phone to see if they have the item I was looking for. they have no way of knowing if they have an item in stock. -poor customer service The manger is always rude! He always belittles his employees. I shop here often only for convenience. The athome store by the airport is better and has a better selection. read more

Curbside pickup sucks. I ordered an umbrella and patio cushions. 4 items. Drove 25 miles one way, to find out "It will be ready sometime today, we get 100's of orders" They didn't even offer to pick the order while we waited. NOTE: They were closed to instore shopping and the hour we waited, only 1 car showed up to pick up an item. Needless to say, I canceled the order. I have to wonder what their customer service is like when they're actually busy. read more

At home, the newly rebranding of Garden Ridge Pottery is something San Antonians will take some getting use to. First of all, there's no more crafting items to purchase. There was limited pottery. There was limited floral. On that note, there was a ton of other things like kitchenware, umbrellas galore, outdoor furniture, tons of wall decore and of coarse, the beloved holiday section. I must say, I feel like a sucker buying kitchenware from any other place now that I've been to the new At home. I also feel pretty silly paying (see "settling") $69 for an outdoor patio umbrella from Target when At home had a million color options in larger sizes for $49. Why oh, why did I not discover At home pre-summer? Lesson learned. This would be a great place to get your friends, coworker or hard to buy for family member gift cards for the upcoming holiday season. read more

After visiting here for the first time, it seems as though Garden Ridge has stepped up their game like the ugly duckling in high school who you barely recognize a few years later because she somehow got smoking hot. I use to HATE Garden Ridge because it felt like it was Costco's hick 3rd cousin, twice removed. It was refreshing seeing the face lift starting with the color scheme going from an awkward orange and white to a more contemporary looking blue house with white lettering and a silver backdrop. Walking in, I noticed the floor plan seemed to be planned out better, the inventory seemed to all be pristine and in its appropriate place and every section of the store had staged products like a furniture store and it was very visually appealing. The prices seemed extremely reasonable for the offerings they had and the selection wasn't half bad either. My only small gripe came from the staff. We were here for like 30 minutes and walked by a handful of employees and not one offered to help us or asked if we needed anything. In addition, my g/f lost her phone here and when she asked to see if anyone had turned one in to them, they seemed to do the bare minimum to help her. With that being said, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now. I compare this place to stores like Kirkland Homes and other similar destinations and for now, I feel like they're doing enough things right to have a slight advantage over the other guys. Prices seem to be a bit better, the selections seems better but quality is run of the mill and artwork is generic and mostly uninspiring. Have a game plan before coming here and you'll be in and out without draining your bank account too much while picking up almost anything you need for the home. On to the redecorating! read more

1 star for the customer service. I am so sick of the people in customer service with absolutely NO customer service skills. Caitlin was my cashier. I said, "Hello! How are you? " . She asked, "How many? ". Never looked up, nothing! Uhhhh, Hello you little brat! I said, "Hello!" You can say hello back. Get off your walkie talkie and realize people are in front of you. This isn't the first time this has happened. My boyfriend and I walked in another time. The guy at the front didn't say hello. He just said, "Just so you know, we're closing in 20 minutes. " I love the store, but not this particular one. I will be driving further away to get the items I need. The customer service today was horrible! First, I was looking for sheppard's hooks. Freight workers in the store swore that they didn't carry any (SIR, I UNLOAD EVERY TRUCK. WE DO NOT HAVE THEM.) Of course, I found them along the back wall. Second, our cashier JENNI was very rude. She refused to have any store worker look up the price of the sheppard's hook that had no price on it. So after I went to get the price for the item, she continued to be rude & refused to say thank you or have a good day, even though she claimed to tell EVERYONE!!! What a waste of space! I love quite a few big box stores but this reinvention of Garden Ridge as At Home gives any anti-capitalist or environmentalist all the ammunition they need. First time to visit was the first week of Christmas. Empty shelving as far as the eye could see to the right as we walked into the store. Hardly any Christmas left at that point. A little surprised but we figured we had missed out. At the time I noticed an outdoor firepit on display. We did not find any nearby and it seemed like displays were being transitioned so I decided to return in the future. Returned today to the same empty shelves and found the same firepit display. Asked a man working nearby where the ones for sale were and he told me to go down the middle aisle. Why they weren't nearby is a mystery but also it was no surprise there were none located there either. As I walked towards the front I decided I was done. No item is worth it and the fact that the place is a big ugly gray box taking up vast space and offering not much is just plain sad. I won't be returning. read more

My husband and our 3 month old went to this location yesterday. The girl who cashed us out was not friendly and spoke maybe one word to us. As we were leaving my husband had all our items we just bought in his hands and I had the baby and was putting the shopping cart away. Well there was 3 employees, one looked like a manager and the others had dyed colorful hair were standing by the front talking. They could clearly see that I was struggling to put the cart away as I had my hands full as well as my husband. They looked at us and then continued talking. Not a single person asked if we needed help or said thank you for shopping there or have a good day. The customer service is lacking here. So many options that it is a bit overwhelming. Basically an Americanized version of IKEA. Love it, but plan to stay at least an hour.
