The container store has good products but their order online is deplorable. I ordered a product that was never delivered directly to me and was left some where else been trying to get my refund. They have been giving me the run around from the representatives to the manager for weeks . Refund still has not been returned . I will never order from them again. During the holidays, it is a stocking stuffer Shangri-La, a gift wrapping supplies headquarters, the place to make sure your Christmas ornaments and tree are stored safely for next time, your partner in preparing and cooking that family holiday meal, your best friend in the cleaning up the aftermath! For the rest of the year, this store makes sure everything in your abode remains not only organized, but beautifully so; their own wholly owned brands include the impressive elfa®, Avera® and Preston® lines. They have employees ready to partner with you for customization to your every whim and even offer in home services! What more can you ask for? I sound like a commercial for them, but if my 80+ pictures and several videos from one visit because I felt like it prove anything, it is that this is my own pleasure derived from spending a few hours in the store. And if the fact that me taking all these pictures and then not being bothered and being nothing but courteous, ready to assist, and welcoming with me say anything, it is that the service level certainly matches the extensive selection. This store is amazing! I'm a huge fan of organizing and this place has everything and more you can think of. Closets, kitchens, shoes, and even the smallest little cubbies for office supplies, you can find it here. Want a specific color? You can find it here. I was surprised by the vast amount of color and sizing options. Staff isn't the greatest here but honestly, you can get by without having to interact with them much. I love this store! Full disclosure my husband and myself had a closet put in our last house and it was a pleasure to get dressed in the morning. We just purchased a new house and now when you go to container store they have designers that come to your house and measure for FREE. I met with Maria and she came out to look at our master closet and a couple of kitchen cabinets as well as a spice rack for over the pantry door. She did our design in the house on her computer and gave me the cost. Container store was having 35 percent off. That never happens. As most people we did have another closet company come out but I loved the design that Maria did. The quality and how nicely things come together make this so easy to use and really helps you stay organized. My husband wasn't sure we needed this as he is now retired but once I got his stuff in he absolutely loves it. Everything has a place. Wes our installer was amazing. He got here on time and worked very quickly to get the old closet torn out and my new closet installed. He was very professional and had a bag of extra parts for me to take back to the store to get a refund. I highly recommend using them. read more

I absolutely love this place for all my DIY organizational needs. But, the service provided by the Elfa closet design team is by far a cut above the rest. The best time to take advantage of this service is during their annual sale that runs from the end of December to early February so you can get what you really wanted in your custom closet without sacrificing on design. I've designed six closets (in two different homes) and have always been more than pleased with the results and how much better organized my spaces are as a result of making this investment. They have some really great displays and resources at the Container Store to help you organize everything from your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom closets to your garage and more! If you've not been, you definitely need to check it out. Sometimes my wife and I just like to walk through and get ideas for future projects. But this store has a huge selection and containers for everything and anything your heart desires. Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of visiting this location while in town conducting other personal business. I was in a rush, so I excused myself and asked the first associate I saw near the registers where to find the item I needed. Although I interrupted her stocking duties, she immediately stopped what I was doing, smiled, got up from floor-level, and offered to take me back to the item. I politely assured her I didn't expect that level of help, and to just point me in the general direction. When I came back to the front of the store with a cart precariously teeming with product, the same associate started to ask me if I'd found what I needed--until we both started laughing at the shopping cart. I thought it special that she took the time to be sure I'd found my items, even if it was painfully obvious that I did. Despite a register problem, I was in and out of the store in under 10 minutes, and I left with a smile on my face. This store has friendly service and is always tidy. Last time I purchased a shelf for my wall, the cashier went out of her way to give me extra screws and recommended some different products I would like. The people are not pushy, but hip and helpful. Every weekend they run a demo for various parts of the store and the Elfa system, giving a 20 min lecture and a $20 random winner of a gift card. The people seem genuinely out to help you and answer questions without hesitation. The sheer amount of products are overwhelming and priced between borderline expensive and very expensive, but the Elfa system works very well and is modern and chic. Is it worth $1000? I'm a teacher, so The Container Store is a building of Rainbow Lucky Charms-filled uber organized dreams for me! I just can't get enough of the place. You could leave me in there for hours of entertainment. It's not like I'm all that organized in my classroom, but they just have every possible type of container you could imagine there! The problem won't be finding something you want; it'll be paying the list price. Fortunately they have a lot of sales and coupons online. Usually customer service is awesome. Today I went to actually buy some expensive ELFA units for my classroom, but all the associates seemed to be busy, although a lot of teachers are out right now stocking up for the year. I could spend a lot of money in this place. They have a whole aisle of crack pipe organizers, heroin-needle cases, and all different sizes of meth-making chemical storage tubs. Seriously, I love The Container Store. This place can make even the worst offender from Hoarders look as organized as Martha Stewart's staff. What can you really say about the Container Store? If you're going there, you know exactly what you are looking for. If you need a thing to put your stuff in, and you want the thing to be shaped like a duck, and the duck to be on wheels, and the wheels to be able to move in all directions, the Container Store has it. I'm not really too keen on the layout of the store. If you're a place which is catering to the OCD crowd (let's be honest now) scattering like items in different parts of the store is just mean spirited. I'd enjoy browsing a bit more if all of the kitchen items where in one area, while all of the bathroom in another. Instead I find things to hold your pills in three different areas of the store. What I found was a very well organized store with wide-aisles, bright colors and lighting, and a huge assortment of all things capable of being filled! OK, so you've got metal containers and mesh containers, plastic ones, too. Paper and cardboard, are there for you, too. They have organizers for kitchens, closets, and baths, hampers, and stepladders, my maw was aghast! There were containers for travel, bottles for meds, desk drawer organizers you can fill with your lead. They had desks and bookends and message boards, whew! Too many things to see and to do! They have big containers and small containers and those in between, to meet the demands of all kings and queens. So, start organizing your collection of buttons and string, and finish that closet you started last spring. I find this store centrally convenient but very pricey. The store's name tells you what they sell. They staff are very helpful and they can help you organize your closet and possibly sell you the modular pieces for that perfect closet system. Or maybe your child has too much toys and you want to de-clutter their bedroom. This store and their staff can help. You can't find this kind of human help in bigger brick and mortar stores though the bigger brick and mortar's prices will be cheaper. I like to come here to get ideas, but my wallet pulls me to go elsewhere. Even with their annual sales, I find it hard to justify spending here. I went in today in need of a storage solution. I looked around and wasnt quite sure what to get. I wandered over to the metro shelving area and Michael greeted me and asked me if I needed help. I told him that I needed something to store a bunch of vitamin containers in for the kitchen. He showed me a few simple solutions but it wasnt quite what I was looking for. I gave him more info, about the stuff that I had in my kitchen as far as look and everything and he took me to some elfa shelving and they were perfect. He loaded everything up for me and gave me a quick overview of the instructions. He was customer service. The 5 stars are more for him than the store but either way, the store is lucky to have someone like him who takes the time to listen to customers. read more

My Wife and I just purchased a home and are looking forward to making some changes so we thought to start with the master bedroom closet and a trip to the container store was an obvious choice, however, the customer service was severely lacking. Before we spend thousands of dollars on a custom closet I think it isn't so much to expect to be treated with a modicum of polite service. The one employee manning that department (Closets) was busy helping another customer so instead of waiting for him to call for another representative to assist us (which he never did) we eventually approached another employee and requested that someone else meet us in that department so we could inquire about designing and purchasing one of these custom closets. No one ever showed up and after the one person was done with his customer he turned around and simply walked away, we were standing waiting for any kind of communication such as "one moment I'll be right with you" or "is there anything you need help with" or "do you have any questions" or "I'm sorry for the wait, let me get someone to assist you" any one of those basic phrases or maybe even a nod and a whisper to say "I'll be right with you" could have alleviated the agitation of waiting without any acknowledgement that help was (or wasn't in this case) on the way. I was shocked the moment he finished helping the other customer he walked away without so much as a look and I wanted to leave immediately, but my wife waited for him to come back. He was almost equally shocked that we were still there and when she asked about purchasing one of the closet systems he gave a simple "we don't have that" response and offered nothing else, didn't ask what we were looking for, didn't ask the dimensions of our space, didn't ask what our budget was, NOTHING!!! My wife and are excited to create a new home together and this douchey sales guy just killed so much enjoyment out of this occasion. We will happily shop elsewhere. Ok, so here's the story, a few months ago we went to the San Antonio store to price closet organizers for our new home, they were having a 25% off sale. Got all the pricing done, sale was good for about another month, not knowing exactly yet when we were closing we had to put it off. We went back when closing was done, and of course the sale had already ended. Having priced other organizational systems, we felt this was the best. We asked the sales associate if there were any other sales or if we could still get the sale price from our original pending order. Manager Lindsey came over and very blunt, and rudely stated NO, in other words, to bad for you. Mind you we were spending $3200 on the system. The sales associate, Sonia who was extremely nice and helpful, suggested that we sign up for their emails and that they would send us a 10% off for signing up. Well we did and no coupons came through our email. So we went ahead and made our purchase reluctantly cause it was now going to be another $1000 from when they were on sale. Got home not very happy to have missed out on the sale, checked our email and there it was, the email with the 10% off coupon. So, I called in the morning and asked if they could make a price adjustment, seeing that we were there less than 12 hours ago, Stephanie, who answered the phone, said NO, NO price adjustments. I told her that most all store accommodate there customers, she didn't want to hear it, NO was her final answer, rudely, stating basically that we were out of luck. I will never give another dime to that store, they don't treat there customers fairly, like any other store would do to keep their business. So, not only am I canceling my order and going elsewhere, they are out $3200 plus any time I can say something negative about how they treat their customers I will.
