Stay away from this location. When purchasing a phone for my daughter's birthday, one of the employee's added an extra line to her SIM card to gain extra commission. Since we do autopay, we didn't catch the random number attached to our account for a few months. Customer service gave us the run around, refused to cancel the extra line, credit our bill and admit their fraud. When we called the main customer service line, they confirmed this has happened to multiple customers but there is nothing they can do. I have been a customer for over 30 years. Today we stopped by to see what kind of upgrades AT&T had in store for us. We don't need the latest over the top version that makes coffee and butters bagels so we were hoping we'd find something that suits our lifestyles. Sure enough, AT&T in Riverbank was our place! Leah did a fine job of fitting us to upgrades and helped get our phones up and running. The only hiccup was when I tried to log into my email I wasn't able to. Upgraded iPhone in Dec 2025 w/ rep "Mariam" who was an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT & JEWEL. She advised me to bring in my first bill to make sure there are no discrepancies/issues. I called numerous times to no avail in order to ask for Mariam's schedule, no one is picking up the store phone. I came in early morning on a weekday & encountered a middle age female, Hispanic rep w/ very short, male like hair cut, of course w/ no name tag on whose job was to help me...YEAH RIGHT. I brought in the hard copy of my bill & asked to review it, she barely "glanced at it" & said it was fine. I asked her what the "Government fees & taxes" were? She stated "I don't know." OMGOSH....YOU WORK AT AT&T AS A REP & YOU DO'NT KNOW. Thought to myself I was more of a burden to her & she probably wanted me to leave & stop asking questions about a bill. I then noticed she pulled her cell phone out of her jean pocket, I thought to myself, she was going to maybe look up "Government fees & taxes" NOOO!!! I stopped in trying to transfer a phone line and was told by Daniel that this was not possible as he was a "third party" despite having completed this service before. Daniel was rude and unwilling to help despite the store being completely empty. If you see a man named Daniel turn the other way because he will ignore you and will be confrontational when asked for a service. Zero stars. I went in explaining that I was looking for an inexpensive phone for a child to activate an already existing line. He LIED telling me that if the line hasn't been activated for a while the service will be bad so he OFFERED to change the phone number, but I would have to CALL CUST SERVICE AND "Tell them someone stole it. No, TELL THEM YOUR EX STOLE IT." He said I couldn't buy the phone and activate the existing line. Said there would be an activation fee for ADDING. A phone for the FIRST TIME to that line. I told him I changed my mind and wanted him to reverse anything he had done. He said he checked to make sure that it hadn't gone through (I hadn't paid for anything or committed to anything yet). He said it didn't go through. Cut to 30 mins later and customer service informed me that the line he tried to force me into was still there along with this set up of charges. I NEVER asked about insurance for a $50 phone, let alone the premium, most expensive package. When we called to ask him about it, and asked for a manager, Anthony HUNG UP! I have been coming here since 2020, I always thought they were quick and helpful in person but when I recently called for an upgrade, a worker (woman) sounded irritated and wasn't very helpful. Unfortunately, I did not get her name. I understand some jobs are stressful especially when it comes to customer service, but life is also stressful in general for many people and you don't need to take it out on your customers. The man that helped me claimed his name was o'Brian, however, I am certain that he lied about his name. He was extremely aggressive, and did not want to help. He said I needed to call to do. DON'T COME HERE AT ALL!!! i upgraded to an iphone 11 and for 2-iphone 11 pro for my kids. they didn't have an iphone 11 pro so they sent us to another at&t at the mall to pick it up. we also bought 2 iphone 11pro cases at this store. lo and behold, when my kids came back to unwrap the phone, it was just an iphone 11. i checked the receipt and i paid for 3 iphone 11 when i wanted 1-iphone 11 and 2-iphone 11pro. the kids were disappointed but they needed to use it because their old iphones are not working and it was past 8pm already and the store was closed. and they have classes the next day. told my husband that i should have listened to him when he said that we should go to the at&t at the mall instead of patronizing the business in our area. serves me right! never again! wouldn't go there to buy anything. i just need to return the iphone 11 pro cases! read more

I wish I could give zero stars. Had no idea what an authorized store and a corporate store was until my unpleasant experience. DO NOT come to this store unless you want to be put through major stress. Back in November 2022 I qualified for an upgrade. Went towards closing time and upgraded my phone. After I purchased my new phone, I was told that my info could not be transferred since I didn't have enough storage therefore they suggested I return this phone and order a new one with more storage. Did that transaction and had to pay a second time for taxes. I received an empty box and immediately reported it to this store. They said unfortunately this is common and even when they receive their own shipment, phones are already missing at that point. The manager then took at look at my phone and said there was no need to have had ordered the phone with the larger storage because all I needed was to have everything transferred to iCloud and then doing so, I would be able to transfer everything to the initial phone I purchased!!! Ugh. We have been going back and forth, they told us to call customer service to get my money back for the taxes that I paid for the phone I never got and they did just a few weeks ago after multiple calls. Luckily they were able to remove the phone that i never received in the mail from my acct But now they are charging the full balance of the phone I originally upgraded to since they said it was supposed to be returned and was never returned. All i need is to be put on a payment plan and apparently that is not an option. Every time we go to the store they tell us to call 611 and when we call they tell us to go to the store. This is the BEST AT&T location in the area. I do not live in Riverbank but I drive out here when I need anything for AT&T. I have learned my lesson trying to go to other stores closer to my business or home. Neli is a wonderful manager, I would love to hire her myself. Mind you that the phone was protected by a case I bought from this same store.. Returned to the store and got zero help!!! Was handed a brochure and sent on my way. Representative RUDE and useless. my mom, sister, & i came in tonight to buy a new phone. it was busy when we first walked in and the 2 gentleman let us know they would be with us as soon as they could. Daniel S. helped us with all of our questions and purchases. I can't remember the gentleman's name who was with him but they were both very nice. They put tempered glass on 2 phones and they look perfect with no bubbles!! they gave us all of the information on how to replace the at&t tempered glass if anything was to happen. we left very happy and will return for our future phone needs read more

Worst customer service experience I've had after a while. My sis went in to buy an IPhone 12 Pro and the employee accidentally gave her IPhone 12 Pro Max. We didn't check the phone until we came back home. The next day we went in and tried returning it. The employee said only the manager can do an exchange and she's not here. Also, they would charge $55 for the exchange. Then we went back the next day to talk to the manager. The manager said there were low on stock for IPhone 12 Pro and can't exchange it. Then we had to drive all the way to Modesto to exchange it. Moral of the story is, these employees need to be trained better with situations like these. Spoke to customer service online, long story short I needed my device to be shipped to a location. Customer service said I just needed to submit their address and they would contact me based of the info through my order number. Called this location and mentioned I was in the process of upgrading a new device. Asked me how he'd be able to help me and when I gave him my scenario said it wasn't possible. Only if I ordered through the store. And that I'd have to contact a participant store. After the customer service rep online had already verified. I asked for the modesto location number and said he didn't know it however I could look up on google and really needed to get off the phone because he was with a customer. I come from customer service. And if you are busy you answer politely and explain the wait time due to customers already being helped. The service I received in the beginning conversation quickly changed after he realized the purchase had been made. Will avoid this store for future references. read more

I purchased a new phone through this retailer. The phone did not work out of the box. I was told I would have to pay them $45 to get a replacement phone for the phone that never left their store. Instead I was sent to the Apple store where I spent four hours waiting for Apple to determine why the phone was not working and get a new one. I will never get that time back. Yeah that was for one reciever not 4 total. 3 more receivers cost $21 more a month. Manager hides the whole truth just to get you to sign up. Worst customer service ever.ALYSSA GIVES US FREE Gpads that are phones with our new phone purchase and says after the first billing cycle just cancel the phone portion and use them as Gpads.She didn't mention the $150 early termination fee or that we might have been able to return them in the first 14 days but not after the first billing cycle.Luckily AT&T did stand up and take back the early termination and activation fees and allowing us to return the GPADS we never really wanted, assuring we will remain lon g time customers. read more
