I went in two days ago to get a replacement, the man who helped me was wonderful his name was Shahriyar? Before being helped I waited for a few minutes and I noticed who the manager was right away. This man was being so rude to his employees right in front of us. He would yell at them to remember what to say and ask what they're doing wasting time while all he was doing was laughing on the side with two younger women. This was so unprofessional to see and when I was being helped by the wonderful man another employee preferred to go up to the man helping me instead of his own manager and I don't blame him. I'm not here to tell anybody how to do their job but I personally think everyone agrees a united front looks professional in front of customers. We went there yesterday to get new phones for my daughter and myself. I expected a long transaction and a possible disappointment because it was almost 5pm and a lot of times, people are already burnt out and tired or would hurry you up so they can move to the next customer. One of the worst experiences I have had with any business. I was persuaded to trade in my phone to get a new one. I was told my old one was paid off. I did the transaction and found when I got my bill that they had added the insurance without my permission. I had to spend an hour getting it removed and getting credit it for it. When I called to complain the store said, oh that guy doesn't work here anymore. Basically told me that was too bad. read more

i've bought phones from here and once again i stopped at this store for help. Sara Ibrahim and the store manager (didn't get his name) got my phone going-i was locked out of my e-mail account for which i had for 20yrs and that i didn't write down the security questions and answers. they had me in my account in about 10 mins after showing proper ID and had me going once again. 2 other stores and countless calls to tech support could not help, att said i was not a customer but i only been using their products for the last 30yrs. again Sara Ibrahim and the store manager were very very helpful and knew their iphones! After 30 years of just paying my monthly bills, AT&T stopped listening when they conned me into adding Directv. I consider this store to be complicit in the abuse we've endured. On 9/4/17 we called AT&T to replace one of our family phones. The phone rep said "we can make this a buy one get one free if you subscribe to Directv - plus we can reduce your monthly mobile bill by $100". Sounded good, so we bought Directv and a new iPhone - but we never got the free iPhone nor the $100 monthly savings. Since then we've spent almost nine hours speaking with various phone reps and supervisors in the "Retention" department. Only one rep, Anna-Lisa White, was honest and transparent with us. We learned that the salesperson on 9/4/17 failed to register us for the BOGO, didn't tell us it was going to expire ten days later and probably falsified the offer of $100 monthly savings. In fact he increased our monthly bill by upgrading us to an unlimited data plan. Nobody in "Retention" was willing or able to rectify the situation. We suggested numerous times that someone listen to the 9/4/17 phone call "recorded for quality assurance" but no one has. We can imagine that the original person is a rogue employee, but it seems crazy that no one will lift a finger to fix the mess he created. We were told, however, that if we quit, AT&T would charge us about $800 in early termination fees. In other words: "We don't have to live up to our promises, sir - but you do." This has been so maddening that it's indeed tempting to just pay the fees and switch carriers after decades with AT&T. Or just accept that we got tricked into buying Directv and wait two years to switch carriers. read more

My first interaction in the store was not bad. I received a follow up call and text to get me back in the store to set up service. I figured since they followed up I would be able to call them back with any issues. I set up service and called back the same day with questions and my retail associate was M.I.A. I tried to like the service but again with no call back I returned it 4 days later. Only to find out the service had not been cancelled. So had I not called in I would have gotten a surprise bill after I was enrolled WITHOUT being told in Auto Pay. They drafted out $82 the day after I set up service and I don't even know for what. read more

You'd think even as he;'s on hold with the speaker playing music he'd offer to help - or even ask me if there's anything he can do while he just sits there. The Hispanic guy turned me away while still having customers in the store did not want to let me in because the store is closed although there's people in there and all I wanted was a screen protective shield for my galaxy note v and a Phone Protector in case I drop it. I drove from Foster and Cumberland for nothing and I think rejected me is poor customer service even though they have people in there. Although there was a young lady in there helping customers also. What's the use of having employees in there that are not loyal and dedicated to the business by turning me away. Its not a corporate store and they are quick to tell you that you didn't buy the phone from "them" meaning "their" store, even though you did buy from AT&T. The fellows in there were NOT wearing masks properly and would not stay behind the plexiglass. We ended up doing a dance around his station as I kept trying to avoid him. He was removing my charger case that I JUST bought and I told him he was going to break it. He said No I am not going to break it. And, what happened? He broke it. So, out $100 charging case and now have to contact the company and go through hoops to replace it. I bought a new screen protector, plug and case at the Verizon store. But the sales associated lied about the phone that I cannot use that unlocked phone that I purchased from Online. So he sold me a new phone which is shitty phone. Just got told over the phone with At&t (the cell phone and internet company) that only way I can inquire making changes on bill would be handwriting a letter and sending it in mail.. So the same company that lets you sign up over phone and text messages you to remind you when bill is due can only communicate through mail now when it doesn't benefit them.. read more

I Wish All Business Transactions Were This Easy! I mentioned to a friend how unhappy I was with my previous cable provider and he mentioned that he had stopped by the Niles store and worked with the AT &T Manager Cesar Garcia and I should at least get a quote with AT&T. I called the store and spoke with Cesar - he emailed me a quote - which bundled all our services "phone, cable, internet" and included all the movie & sports channels we were looking for and the price was $150 per month less than current bills (we were working with 3 different companies.) Cesar was fantastic, no big sales pitch, just asked a few questions to get an idea of our internet usage, TV viewing preferences and then emailed me a quote. I called Cesar to confirm our order and he set up the technician to come to our house when it was convenient for me. It was an incredibly easy process. Cesar followed up to make sure the installer arrived as scheduled and then sent me a note to see if we 'were happy" with the installation. The AT &T installer "George" arrived early and he did a beautiful job. He explained his plan to run the wire so the signal would reach all areas of our house and he showed me the original wiring (in a basement closet) that was a mess lines going everywhere. At the end of the job he showed me his work ... all the lines were neat and orderly and even labeled. It's a rarity to have a tech come to your home and take such great pride in their work. End Result ... 1. Phone ... just hanging on to landline ... we don't use it much anymore ... just not ready to give it. And yes we still get all the annoying calls at night from credit card companies and charities but that's a different story :-) 2. Internet is much faster than our previous service - very nice surprise 3. Cable ... we choose the U-Verse (no dish) package. I should note, our TV's were inexpensive and not the best picture out there. Last night my husband asked "have you noticed how much better our picture is?" and I have to agree. The glass fiber optic cables(?) did make a difference. Also, I think George checked the settings on each TV so there is a big improvement in picture quality ... which I didn't think was possible. I feel like I could do a commercial for AT&T ... really a great experience ... better picture, faster internet and I'm saving money! Yes, I recommend this store. read more

This place has the absolute WORSE customer service I've ever encountered! The last two times I was there I stood around with no acknowledgement from any of the staff what so ever. One of the times I stood in front of the store manager while playing on his iPad for about 5 mins. Not a simple "hi welcome to AT&T I'll be right with you please stand by" or even a simple hi! I've never liked coming here but only have because its closest to my house. I now go to old orchard AT&T because as soon as you walk in the door there's a greeter with a beautiful smile and the staff are always quick to help me out. Andrew at the Niles location is a shady sales person. He tried to cross sell me on home security products that I did not want. He continued to cross sell me even though I told him no, and then he brought his manager over. After I upgraded my my device he subsequently added a second mobile share plan to my account even though I did not ask for it. I had to call AT&T customer service the following morning to fix the situation. Avoid this location at all costs. They will try to upsell you products that you do not need, and they will waste your time. read more

Liars and thieves. I was told I would receive $150 for each line I ported from Verizon. With 4 lines, that's $600 and helps offset the costs of breaking the contract. This is the only reason I chose AT&T. When ATT customer service only credited my account $150, I called them and was told it would be handled at the store level. When I went back to the store, they refused to deliver on their commitment and insinuated that I was the liar. I will never step foot in that place again, as early as next month, will cease being an ATT customer. This is enough to make me change my television as well!! read more

Horrible experience ! I went there on Saturday evening wanting to switch to an AT&T prepaid plan (from another carrier). At first it seemed OK. A young guy named Marko was taking care of the switching. It took about 20 minutes. He seemed a bit lazy and not super helpful, but I got a new sim card and an AT&T service on my phone right away, so that's OK. I wasn't getting any internet data, and the guy didn't seem to care (mind that I already swiped my credit card, so why would he ... ?). He said it might come up later after the switch is complete. I thought he might know better than me, right ? So I decided to be patient. I called my friend soon after leaving the store and he wouldn't pick up. An hour later I called him again and he said my name was not showing on his screen. I was surprised. I called other friend, same story. Than it dawned on me. That idiot in AT&T store CHANGED MY NUMBER !!! A number that I had for 11 years ! He gave me the same last 7 digits but a different area code ! The store was already closed at the moment, so I called AT&T customer support on Sunday morning. They couldn't explain how Marko screw it up this way and said I had to go back to the store for a new sim card so that they could fix the problem. So, after spending almost an hour on the phone (waiting, explaining, being transferred, waiting and explaining again) I drove 40 minutes in the rain to get back to the store. It took me 2 hours there and a lot of explanations (and anxiety) to finally fix it ! Half a day wasted and SO MUCH FRUSTRATION ! Btw, Marko was there on Sunday, and he didn't even apologize for either screwing up the switch or being too lazy to check/ set up my internet access. In fact it seemed that HE COULDN'T CARE LESS. Actually, no one apologized to me, which is very sad, because they had 2 hours of time to say simple I'm sorry or "we apologize for the inconvenience" ... NOT A WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER if you want him to come back, right ? The manager was not the worst thing about the place, but he wasn't willing to help me with the internet at first, saying that "I may not be able to access internet because it's not an AT&T phone". Yeah, right ... Finally some girl taking care of the issue took a pity on me and set up an AT&T access point on my phone and it works seamlessly since (didn't get your name but Thank You !). Unfortunately that was the only bright side of my experience with the store. I read some bad reviews about the place but went there anyway. I thought - come on, how bad that could be, right ? Well, it's worse that I could imagine ...Please save yourself frustration and choose a carrier that AT LEAST PRETENDS to care about you ! Or maybe another at&t store would work, I don't know. Found out from the Rolling Meadows location about a promotion and decided I wanted it. So the Des Plaines store lost a sale. Not the best selection of accessories on some things. I will never step foot in the location again. Last year I was promised a buy one get one on the Samsung 8 phones, yesterday I went to this store for probably the sixth time and was told the same thing that I have been told every other time that they have put in the request for escalation and that it takes three to four weeks to see the credit. I was extremely frustrated and asked who I could call, they gave me the number for the loyalty department. I called them from the parking lot and was told they never put threw anything!!! I am still disappointed in AT&T itself as they were supposed to text me a case number now and as of right now they still haven't. I will be looking to leave AT&T as soon as possible. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would in a heartbeat. Tried going in with my mom yesterday to upgrade her phone. She knew exactly what she wanted, should have been an easy in and out. But no. Went in and they were packed, so instead of waiting around, we made an appointment and decided to come back in a few hours after we ran errands. When we came back, we early, but we were checked in and browsed around the store for a bit. Appointment time came and went. 5 mins... 10 mins... 15 mins... nothing. Other people were taken, but still not us. At that point we walked over to the lady who checked us in, said we were tired of waiting and that we were leaving. She goes "did you have an appointment?" The sales associates at this location were very unhelpful. Oscar seemed very eager to just pass me along to the next location where maybe they would be able to help me there. I have had ATT cell services for 10 years now and this was the only problem I have had with a phone yet and it is very discouraging that this is the service that they give you when you have a problem. I would not recommend this store for any help regarding cell phone service. Also my friend had a question regarding his slow Internet speeds and once again Oscar was eager to relegate his duties to another department and couldn't be bothered to even look into it. I came here this week because I was having issues with my phone. Mind you, I have been a loyal AT&T customer for ~4 yrs now. As a previous reviewer, I was working with Andrew. Manager César was there as well. Though standing there is basically all that the manager did. I had been having ongoing issues with my phone, making multiple visits to ATT and Apple. I went to ATT to finally get a resolution, but got none. Andrew was rude to customers, has NO knowledge of the phones and ATT phone plans and how to trouble shoot, and has poor listening skills. Now, he did fix one issue I was having with my phone which was helpful. But the other problem that was ongoing for weeks, he did not do his job. He spent about 10 minutes tinkering with my phone, not telling me what he was doing; all of a sudden handed it to me and said "It works." As soon as I left the store, my phone stopped working again. He was EXTREMELY unhelpful, unfriendly, and had poor customer service. As there are multiple AT&T stores within a 10-15minutes of this specific store, AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE! Go somewhere else if you have a problem you need resolved, because it WILL NOT be done here!! I can deal with a broken phone, I will get a new one. I cannot deal with a terrible staff member that has no willingness to help a loyal customer. read more
