Walked in at 420pm, was told there's was a 45 minute wait. I waited... it's now 517pm and still waiting... Upon waiting, the STORE MANAGER is picking and choosing who she wants to help. She was talking to an older gentlemen and he was hard of hearing. Because she couldn't communicate with him, she passed him off to another rep (what?!?) secondly, She tells someone else that just walked in that there is one person in front of them... (another couple and me) but then proceeds to ask them why they came and and fully services them. Daniela spent 2 hours with our account-my husband, sister and me- and although we surely tried her nerves with our never ending questions and inability to make decisions, she never lost her "cool." She helped us with every decision by calmly explaining and reexplaining and ... Her behavior, attitude and expertise assured us we came to the right place and were making the right decisions. They should shut this place down, I had the manager use profanity at me and than tell meabout being rude when they are the ones acting up and doing fraudulent things. Watch your bills they will add extra charges with out your knowledge. They will also have you accept a charge that you ok for lets say $200 and than actually charge you after you ok it and sign for it they than charge you more. And claim its legal because its taxes but its not when your authorize a certain amount that's they only amount you legally have to pay. For starters, I am not a Verizon customer, however I needed to return a cell phone battery purchased at a Verizon store to this one. When I walked in, there was no organization; it was pretty much everyone on top of each other. There was no dedicated "check-in" person, no roving staff to ask if people needed help (however there were a lot of staff standing around with that "don't-bother-me" look), and LOTS of customers just wanting to be helped. When it was finally my turn, here's how the conversation went: ME: I'd like to do a return please. CSR: OK. (starts process.) Why are you returning the battery? ME: My carrier sent me a replacement battery. CSR: Who are you with? ME: T-Mobile. CSR: Why? ME: Because they give me unlimited everything. I stream a lot from Spotify and YouTube. CSR: (crickets) After about 5 more minutes, I was on my way. But after standing around in a store with no organization, with lots of staff members standing around, I don't think I'll be referring anyone to this location. read more

I had an issue with renewing a discount based on my medical profession with Verizon with customer service online as the verification system through ID ME was not working. So I went to this location for further assistance to expedite the resolution since it is an authorized admin store to fulfill these type of requests to verify identification. This was a 5 hour+ frustrating experience with NO resolution from anyone within the store and had to resolve my issue on my own in the end. My own company helped me with obtaining the discount in place of Verizon which made me question what happened to the service I used to get with this service as I have been a customer since 2019. I first was helped by Mike Alvarez who was an associate in the store. Mike was extremely rude rolling his eyes at me and constantly challenging my request to resolve my issue constantly stating to call customer service when I had explained multiple times that I already had and needed further assistance with the issue. He also stated I was not eligible for the discount stating incorrectly that it was only for registered nurses whereas EMT was a listed profession eligible for the discount (on top of this, I already qualified the first time around before renewing this discount). Instead of keeping his attention with helping me with my issue he kept assisting other customers randomly walking away without saying anything to me in the middle of talking with me which was extremely unprofessional and plain rude. Mike also kept saying "show me proof" of the online reach out I made and pushing for me to redo the process which already was not working as I explained again. I then requested to be helped by the store manager, Jermaine Smith, whom also informed incorrectly about the authorized privileges required to renew the discount at first until I showed the required criteria. He proceeded to do the same process as Mike and said he would be able to remove the discount and add it again as a workaround. He removed the discount and then proceeded to tell me it was up to me to add the discount again on my own with customer service which was again the wrong solution since their store was an admin store able to add the discount, so it appeared they pushed me off to the side to figure it out on my own instead of caring enough to help find me a solution. The customer service on the phone directed me to go back to the store again as they also informed me that the store had the ability to renew the discount. read more

This is the only Verizon store I will go to when I need to buy a new phone or need phone repairs. I have been going here for over 10 years, and I have been a Verizon customer since 1996. My experience last night was the best so far. Moby Z. took care of all my needs from beginning to end, and his manager Raffy P. checked in from time to time to make sure I was getting all my needs met. My damaged Incredible 2 was part of what brought me into the store yesterday. I will be receiving a free replacement of that phone by tomorrow or Tuesday. Moby also took a look at my plan and realized that he could structure my plan so that I could have 4 smart phones, a hot spot, and more data for the same price as I was paying for 3 smart phones and 1 basic. My youngest daughter will now have a much better phone because hers was wearing out. He then walked me through purchasing my new IPhone 5, using his own IPhone 5 as an example to show me features and sport 2 different cases I was interested in. He never once rushed me or made me feel foolish for any of my questions. He even took care of my rebate by addressing the envelope so all I have to do is put a stamp on it and mail it. He made sure to get me a reduced price on everything and was able to throw in the hot spot for free. I highly recommend this store to everyone. It is worth the extra drive if you want to get the best possible Verizon experience out there. read more

Incompetent. Wanted to change to the new "S" plan with 2 GB but online they won't let you take off the unnecessary $11 per month "insurance" charge. So I went to this so-called Verizon store where Mike was supposed to help. Mike got on his i-pad and mumbled something about the change NOT going through for his last customer "maybe the system is down". Not giving me a lot of confidence here Mike! Then he tried to get me into the new plan and remove the $11 per month that I didn't want or need. I asked for a printout of the change to show that he really did accomplish this. He couldn't do it. Said it was by email. Checked the emails and it still showed the $11 on there. He said I should CALL Verizon. I could have done that from home! My wife and I purchased 2 new galaxy 9 phones and the service was great. David took care of us and he was just marvelous going over everything with the new phones and he gave us all the time needed to cover everything we wanted to know. He gave us his business card and said call him with any questions. He put those plastic covers on our phones and said if they don't look right in a couple of day bring the phones back for new ones free of charge. I had an air pocket in mine and brought it back and Briana took care of us. She was just terrific, taking the old one off and putting the new one on. Of course I always have questions with a new phone and advise and she answered all my questions. Ali was very pleasant, knowledgeable and even went so far as to write up the rate plan plus how much my discount would take off. He wasn't the least bit pushy but provided the information I needed to go with Verizon and our phones for our family plan. It's cheaper to buy the phones at Amazon wireless so I didn't plan to buy them in the store. If I can give "0" review about this store I would!!! My wife credit score went down because of the hard Inquiry from this store and they have repeatedly could not fix the "hang application". My wife spent 2hrs in the store and with several trouble tickets opened with their Tech support, verizon could not release the Hang application. We were told that verizon does not do hard inquiries, my wife showed them the credit report and General Manager Nate Castaneda still insisted that they don't do hard inquiries. WTH! the report is in front of you! you Blind! we were also told by Yami that the hard inquiry can be removed by their customer service. But the GM says that they don't do that. Shameful and deceitful... This store does not embody the Verizon credo, "a set of principles that describes our culture of integrity, respect, performance excellence and accountability." As a former Verizon employee and current Verizon wireless subscriber, I'm embarrassed by this store. The lack of respect and accountability is absolutely deplorable. On Wednesday, July 29, 2015, I escorted my friend Marjorie Boidy to this particular store. She was in desperate need of a new phone since her iPhone 4 had run its course. In the store we were helped by an employee whose name escapes my memory. What I do remember is that we bonded over me being a former Verizon employee but also the fact that we were both Puerto Rican. The Verizon employee gave Marjorie the option of purchasing a new iPhone 6 or an iPhone 5. Marjorie expressed that she did not want an iPhone 6 because of its price. She also advised that she didn't want a payment plan. The Verizon Representative offered her the opportunity to purchase an Iphone 5 with a 2 year agreement, which she agreed to. He then told her that was eligible to receive a free gift, either a Bose bluetooth speaker or a Tablet. She chose the speaker, since the Tablet would incur a monthly service fee for data. Two hundred dollars later, we left the store and headed straight to the airport for Paris! Fast forward 2 billing periods and Marjorie just advised me that not only is she paying $800 for the phone (in monthly increments), but the $200 she paid at the store was for the BOSE speaker. She called Verizon Customer Service and they advised her to call the store. She called the store and no one has helped her. As a former Verizon Account Manager for FIOS (VEC), I always made sure my customers were well taken care of and happy with our service. I went the extra mile and this store can't even return call. Since then mgr v has told me how they forgot to submit refund request... Customer non service had me e mail bank statement to them... Then claimed they could not open attachment on e mail... So I faxed it.... Yesterday I was told they are having problems with their fax machine .... Then they had the gall to scold me for sending a strongly worded e mail regarding this whole ridiculous situation.... The most horrible service I have ever received. Requested an iPhone 11pro...was given a pro max. When I arrived home and realized their mistake I immediately called and went to return the phone. I was told they would need to charge a $50 restocking fee. I pointed out that I have been a customer for over 20 years...didn't matter at all. When I left I called Verizon and the fee was immediately reversed in honor of my long relationship with. Verizon. When I asked if the store representative could have called and taken care of this they said absolutely. When I called the store back and asked why they could not have done that I was told...if we do that for you we would have to do that for all of our customers. In my opinion, all carriers have issues and Verizon does a pretty good job balancing extensive coverage, tech upgrades (for their network) and offering useful phones. I'm writing this review for my fellow yelpers: this location is to be avoided. Shop online or another location if you have questions. I've used the store in the past to activate phones and had average service. Nothing to post about one way or another. I agree with a poster above that it's their job to be salespeople. I further agree with another poster above that they prey on non-techies and will up-sell unnecessarily. I'm posting because the sales reps sold my spouse an Ellipsis 7 and keyboard using our account. It was intended as a Christmas gift. They mislead my spouse on their return policy and fees involved. I returned it today and was told there would be a fee for both the unopened and untouched device and keyboard. Mike the manager explained that this is policy and cannot be waived. Furthermore, he said the restocking fee was because they won't resell an activated item to another customer. "You wouldn't want us to sell you a device that has already been activated." Here's the problem with that: we live a terrific era of over the air activation - which is why the box was still sealed. Yes, Mike, I would expect you to take the unsealed items and restock / resell them. I left and called Verizon using my nifty app on my phone. The very nice CSR at Verizon's 800 customer service number disagreed with Mike. Even better, she asked if the store manager tried to take care of the issue at the store level. I explained that he didn't, wouldn't try and insisted there was nothing he could do. She promptly took care of the charges and asked if there is anything else Verizon can do. Bravo Verizon. Store manager Mike may have been having a bad day. I've worked retail for many years spanning many peak seasons and get it. The holidays are slammed and returns are a pain. A bad day and a bad attitude are a bad way to conduct yourself at work. I highly recommend he take care business at a store level and not mislead or up-sell clients. The Internet is watching. I went to the store with my sister, who lives out of state. Rich spent well over an hour answering all our questions. We left the store with the intent of coming back with my husband a few days later when we knew Rich was working. My husband and I met with Rich, we both got 2 new phones and accessories. If you can help it, please go to a Verizon store at a different location. There is absolutely zero customer service at the Niles location. I had visited a location in Norridge over the weekend and had such a wonderful experience. I was expecting to have the same at Niles but was so disappointed. I wanted to return a screen protector I'd purchased in Norridge that had two bubbles on it that wouldn't go away, plus I decided I would rather not have a screen protector on my phone. I went to the store with my original receipt and they wouldn't refund my money. The young man told me they couldn't find the purchase in the system, so despite the fact that I had a receipt, he offered to refund the purchase to the account (which is shared by 5 people!) or give me a store credit. I was also interested in purchasing a different phone and he was so indifferent about helping me compare options. Usually the representatives have those hand held tablets which they use to look up your account and compare products or get specs, not here. When I asked him to compare two phones I was considering, he walked away to look them up and didn't even tell me to come with him to the stationary computer at the counter. It was just a ridiculous experience. I finally thanked him for nothing and left to find another store in my area. I went to the Arlington Heights store where the rep helped me compare phones (I decided to keep the phone I had and he was ok with that) and though he too could not find the record of the purchase of the screen protector on the account, he did not treat me as if it was my fault, he worked on his own and eventually with his manager to retrieve what they needed and refunded my money. He removed the screen protector, didn't try to make me purchase another one and helped me disable a setting on my phone. What a great experience! So if you need to ask questions about your account or you have an issue with your phone, or a return, please go to the Arlington Heights or the Norridge store where you can find a helpful person to assist you. It's clear as to why this facility has 2 stars. This review is for the STORE ONLY. Verizon service and corporate customer service is first rate. I generally use this store when changing phones or services and haven't had anything to report either way. Then came this experience. The salesman was either colossally stupid, or he perpetrated an egregious fraud. This place has lost all credibility as far as I'm concerned. If you go in for anything, go in with your eyes wide open. Make sure you're prepared for their nefarious sales tactics. I went in last week to buy a phone for my daughter, which would add a line to my account. He went back to retrieve it, and came back with the phone plus a bonus.......Galaxy Tab E. As he came to the counter with it, I said to him that I didn't ask for that. His reply was that it was a no brainer and it would save me money. I'm a very cynical person and know that nothing comes free. He showed me the math of how paying $75 up front and NOTHING ELSE for the tablet would bring my plan down by $10/mo. after adding the new phone charges, and clearly stated that at the end of 2 years I would save $165. I must mention that as he was adding the totals up, he mentioned insurance. I stopped him cold and very clearly told him that I didn't want it and he could not persuade me to buy it. I told him that I'm not the type of person who buys things he doesn't need and proceeded to tell him that I thought something was fishy. I kept asking what was the hook, and when is the surprise charge going to show up. This went on for a couple of minutes as he assured me over and over that this was on the level and gave some ideas on the use of the tablet. Finally, I said fine, lets do it. Seven days later, i receive the email telling me that my next bill is ready to review. I expected this first bill to be on the high end, so I clicked the tab that predicts your following months bill. I couldn't believe the total. A $95 monthly increase, or just over 30% for going from 3 to 4 lines. Seems kind of excessive, right. Law of diminishing returns and other basic economic principles.There was a $40 set up fee and a $20 monthly line fee for the tablet. So much for "pay the $75 today and nothing further, plus save a net $10 per month" Of course, the insurance that I expressly declined was billed. Needless to say, I was on the verge of losing it and breaking that tablet over the salesmans head. I decided it would be more benificial for all parties involved to handle it with corporate customer service. The rep was helpful and sympathetic. so December 2015 I went to this Verizon store because I was having problems with my phone. I only went because it is conveniently located and I needed to get my phone taken care of. Well, the "used car" salesman like dude supposedly fixed my phone and then he talked me into getting this little wireless contraption that I didn't want and told me that there was no extra charge. Well stupid me believed him and I honestly didn't realize that I have been paying an extra $10 a month on my bill (that's my fault). The contraption was a piece of crap, didn't work, I tried to return it and they said I was too late. I was furious! Even one * is way too much for this store = staff. Bought two phones plus home device *for free* - unauthorized 2 yr contract!. Wasted 3 hrs to transfer my numbers. and had issues with them for several days plus issues with their home link device for over a month (On top I had to switch to another long distance provider), got overcharged on my bills. They promissed credits, help etc... never showed up. Yes, they are nice and will give you crap til you sing the contract etc. STAY AWAY! Worst experience we've ever had. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Do not go there. I am a Verizon customer and have been with Verizon since 1989. This review does not reflect on Verizon, but an experience at the Niles location. Went there because it's a location listed on Verizonwireless.com. We normally go to a different location that's not listed. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by a sales person. We explained our situation--purchased a house in a remote location and DH's T-Mobile doesn't work there, Verizon does. So we want to change the T-Mobile phone to a Verizon flip phone. Salesperson took us over to the standard flip phones. We found one, he tried to talk us into a more expensive model. We said the $.99 version is all we need. In the meantime, I looked around to see if there's a new smartphone I'd like since I'm eligible for an upgrade. The sales clerk asked me what I'm looking for. I said I'm just looking at all the new phones. He basically said I don't need to look at those (huh??) He goes to the back and comes back carrying 2 phones--the $.99 version and the $99.99 version. Again, said we don't need the expensive one. He then writes up the contract for the Edge plan. I told him I don't want the Edge plan. He said he's saving me money. I said again, I don't want the plan. He wanted to know why I don't want the plan. I told him it doesn't matter, I just don't want it. He called over the supervisor and all of a sudden we had two people trying to shove the Edge plan down our throat. There was no way they'd take "NO" for an answer. I told them I've never purchased anything on an installment plan in my life and I'm not going to begin doing it now. Nor am I going to sign a contract that says they can assign the contract to another party without notifying me first. I said I don't agree with it and won't sign such a contract. Still they don't let up. We ended up in a shouting match. The salesperson, Serge, finally gave me a tablet to sign, saying it was just for the $.99 phone plus tax. My DH and I discussed it and we decided to just walk away. We never signed anything. Away from the store, we started thinking straight, and realized that we would be paying $150.00 for the phone over a two-year period to save $40.00 connection fee plus the $.99 for the phone. What a savings!! all of a $108.00 loss. What liars they are!! We went to another Verizon Wireless store, picked out the same phone and asked about the Edge plan. They said that would be a total waste of our money. That plan is for more expensive phones where people might not have the money to pay for it up front. Would be a joke to do that plan for a 99 cent phone. We totally agree. When I checked my email I found out that some of the changes made at the Niles store went into effect without my signature. I will now need to find out if these are changes I even wanted to make. I can't believe that Verizon would let people like this represent them. Never in all these years has anyone ever tried a hard-sell approach on me, much less lied to me to "save" me money. We went to the Verizon store to upgrade a phone. The sales associates will no longer assist you in moving your contact, etc. to your new phone. My father is 78 years old and needed assistance with the technology - the clerk was very curt and did not want to assist us at all. The clerk told us we had to go the Apple store for this assistance as two moths ago they stopped providing this service. We went to the Apple store and the sales associates there were wonderful. My husband and I need new to upgrade our phones as do many of our relatives. We will now take all of our business to the Apple store from now on ( We have been long time Versions customers) . We have been Verizon customers for years but will now be looking elsewhere to provide all of our business. read more

Beware! We bought an iPhone here in February. It fell and the screen broke a few weeks ago, and when we took it to an Apple Store for repair, we learned that it had been bought by someone else in December and it had a now had a 3rd-party display that Apple wasn't allowed to fix. In other words, the scam artists at this store either sold us a refurbished phone as new or, worse, took a new phone, removed the good display and put in a cheap one, and sold it to us at full price. Fortunately, Apple stood by their product and fixed it for us. But you should NEVER ever buy anything from these fraud mongers!
