**Update** I take back everything I said in my previous review. The company as a whole has a horrible policy when it comes to canceling a deceased member's account. I was ready to pay my mother's final bill when I showed up that day with the death certificate to cancel it. They said I didn't have to pay it at all. Well, guess what? I received another bill but this time they added a late fee. I tried calling the toll free customer service line. I explained what happened and they said there's nothing they can do about it per PHI. I would have to go back to the store that canceled it. I called this local store and the manager said to ignore the bill. What???? They said that eventually the system would see the reason why it was canceled due to death. Are you kidding me? Long story short, I ended up paying the bill online with my credit card (including the fee). This wouldn't have happened had they let me pay at the store the first time I presented the death certificate. Thanks for nothing! I will never get an AT&T account because of this. This should have been an easy process, but instead they made it worse on the family member reporting the death. Change your policy so that this doesn't happen again to anyone else. Do not bill if you see that an account was closed due to death (if this is truly a rule) or simply don't tell the customer that payment is not needed. I'd been told over the phone by customer service that this could be done at any AT&T location, but that was not true. I went to their Valrico location where she opened her account, but was told that they are retail and not corporate. He told me to go to the corporate location which happens to be this store in Brandon. It's the one on Brandon Blvd in the Outback Steakhouse strip mall. I walked in and was immediately greeted. She was super friendly and I wish I could remember her name. They had many people waiting for service. All the consultation tables were spaced out by 6 feet or more, and were already occupied. Everyone was wearing a mask. I didn't have to wait too long. In fact, they came over with sincerest sympathy and took care of me right away. I showed them the death certificate. They have to physically see it in person before closing the account. The transaction was done within a matter of minutes. I didn't even need to pay the last bill. They made it as painless as possible. I was totally impressed. I would go back to this store in the future if I ever find myself needing a new mobile provider. No one ever looks forward to going to the cellphone store because it's known to not be a good experience. However, this experience I had was great! I haven't been to an AT&T store since the iPhone 6s so it's been about 2 years but one of our phones died so we had to go get a new one and Tom made the experience a great one. Despite being offered many "promotions" time and time again, we finally got the new iPhone 8 and 8 Plus and the transaction was smooth although it could've been done at a faster pace because we were there for at least an hour. Tom was very helpful and very nice, it was a pleasant experience! The only con is that I hate parking at this shopping center because there is a steakhouse attached next to it which makes parking inconvenience. Also the phone cases are $60+, which is way overpriced so do look online or on Amazon. read more

After 20 years with AT&T, we switched to T-Mobile. Let me tell you why. Suddenly all my data was used up each month in a couple days. Now I very seldom leave the house, which is where it would be used, yet this happened a couple months. I called AT&T, spoke with two very incompetent people who had no idea what they were talking about or why my data was gone. so we drove to this store, which is where I've bought our phones to see if they could help me out. I was in this "Corporate Store" about 4pm 9/29/18... I bought 3 iPhone X on 9/11/18 at the Lutz store. We received great service from Josh and who told us that if we decided to keep the Xes and not upgrade to the Xs when they came out, we could come in and get a $100 bill credit for each phone due to the reduction in the price of the iPhone X. As we were in Brandon, I made sure that 2020 Brandon Blvd was indeed a 'corporate' location. As soon as I walked in, i was approached by an associate (a young lady with darkish hair in a braid or two) who asked how she could help me. I explained to her that I was in to get the bill credit for the phones and before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off and didn't let me finish stating my reason for coming in with... "Oh, no... AT&T doesn't do that, you must have visited and "authorized retailer", we're "corporate" and I would know that very well. She flashed her AT&T badge at me several times like it was FBI credentials. I thanked her, being polite and left the store boiling mad because of the way she treated me without even checking to see if there was even a possibility that her information was incorrect. We drove all the way from Brandon to Lutz (an unplanned trip) and we came in and I explained to the manager why we were there. He started to say that we couldn't get the bill credit but he stopped and went on his computer right in front of us and then started nodding his head "yes"... he said, "yes, you do get the bill credit for each phone you bought". He also told us that the store we visited in Brandon could have taken care of getting my account credited because they too are a "Corporate AT&T" location, she just needed to take the time to check. I can accept "no" but be right, that's what's good for business. We were thinking of switching to AT & T. Went into the store at 2020 W Brandon Blvd. Brandon Fl and had the worst possible customer service ever. There were 3 reps , with customers. No one to greet you and after waiting around 15- 20 minutes I asked one of the sales representatives if there were any more representatives, maybe in the back, he impolitely and rudely said NO YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT. So we walked out. No apologies about being short staffed or anything. It appears we were disturbing them from their dinner. I really hope this gets to be read by the employees. There is a sales lady named TRINITY whom is a scam artist. I went in because my phone was shut off. But I wanted to transfer responsibility of my grandfather data plan and she told me there was without a doubt NO WAY I could do it and that I would have to choose one of their new plans. (Obviously trying to make a new sale or some thing) I called customer service today spoke with one person and had the transfer of responsibility done in less than 10 min and that's a quarter of the time I was in that store. I was first like to start off with saying that Victor is the most unpleasant employee I have encountered at this AT&T location. Personally I do not take the extra step to write a review but my experience is worth 10 of them. I have been in customer service for more than a decade and not once have I even thought about acting to guests the way he acted with me. I felt very unwelcome and like I was the last priority. The first which had been to sell everything but what I needed. I have been with AT&T for quite a while and love the company and services they provide but for a good company there must be good employees who love what they do and treat their guests and customers with kindness. DON'T COME HERE!! The so called employees here are unknowledgeable and lazy. I came in just to get my sim cards activated since we just switched to at&t. I explained this to the employee and he told me I would have to call their employee line to have them activated since I did not buy them directly from their store and my phones weren't originally at&t. I asked if I could speak to their manager and the manager told me the same thing. This was a stupid reason but I said ok. I decided to go to a different store and I got my sim cards activated immediately. The person even took the time to go over every single detail with me. I have been to this location twice in an attempt to join my wife's family plan and it was a pointless, fruitless experience both times. The first time I went I was told that my father-in-law, the account holder who lives in Utah, would have to be physically present, here in Florida, in order to get me added. I was a bit surprised by this but I figured that there must be another option. When I asked I was told there wasn't one. I asked if he could call, or go online, or fill out a form at a store in Utah authorizing me or SOMETHING. Each time I received one-word answers with no elaboration. It was... frustrating to say the least. Luckily, my father-in-law was scheduled to visit in a few months so we waited until he arrived. Surely, with him physically present, it would be piece of cake. Unfortunately, as the one-star review foreshadows, this was not the case. We spoke with a different employee this time and, upon learning of our desire to add me to the plan, he asked what phone I wanted. I told him that I didn't have a lot of money so I would take whatever phone was available for free with a two-year contract. My wife and I had looked at AT&T's website and seen several "Free w/ 2-year contract options" and, honestly, I would have been fine with just about anything. This employee told me that the pricing in stores was different than the pricing online. That is understandable so I asked him which phones were available at this location. He said that no physical store in the area would offer a free phone with a 2-year agreement. Personally, having shopped for phones at other retailers, I find this incredibly difficult to believe. Horrifically difficult to believe. Even if, by some chance, AT&T does not offer a single phone for free in-store with a 2-year contract this employee simply stated that and then just stared at me. Didn't offer to show me phones that might be $49.99 with contract, didn't offer to help with an online purchase etc. Just. Stared. Perhaps I simply figured that as someone who was looking to pay hundreds of dollars a year to this company they would do me the courtesy of making my experience joining this company somewhat palatable. I understand that some of my expectations might not line up with company policy and that is 100% ok but it is not ok to stonewall a potential customer and make every step of the process as difficult and obscure as possible. I am honestly considering staying with Verizon, even though it is nearly twice as much a month, simply because every time that I have walked into their retail store with questions or needs I have been treated very well. I haven't always gotten what I wanted from them but I at least felt like they understood my needs and did their best to accommodate me. Maybe Verizon just hires better actors but I guess that is something I am willing to pay a little extra for. read more

Worst experience I've ever had dealing with customer service professionals. When I tried to return my phone within the allowed time the store associate LIED to me for 3 hours telling me I had to jump through all these hoops which I naively tried to do. I asked to speak to the manager many times but was continuously given the run around until I finally started tearing up from frustration. The manager then came out and proceeded to refund the phone in 5 minutes. I felt humiliated. The staff should feel ashamed of themselves. They used dirty tactics and took advantage of the fact that I was nice and cooperative to try to stop me from returning my phone. I will never go back. The value you get for the services is not even worth it. I would advise anyone to find another carrier. read more

Positives : in store they are helpful. Negatives : called the store multiple times with no answer. It also seems their phone system is not functioning correctly, it reroutes you after a few rings, after a few calls it says "waiting" x3 then disconnects. Online it says the store closes at 9pm, but it actually closes at 8pm. A phone and internet company that has issues with its own phone and internet......ironic. read more

Today I was very apprehensive about going in to any Tampa Bay Area AT&T store to upgrade my iPhone 6 Plus. I have been a customer with AT&T for 15 years plus and my phone was about 4 upgrades behind and having a lots of issues. After choosing the Brandon Blvd AT&T Store I have been very pleased and happy I choose this store. From the time I walked in the door I was greater by a very friendly manager (Ricky)who made sure I was taken care of with a well informed and friendly customer service representative (Carmen). Have them print out disclosure for you before you leave because they don't inform you of all the fees. I went from paying 15 per phone line to 40 and they never disclosed the fee change when I changed my plan. When I called the 800 customer service the operator told me that they screwed me for a sale! read more
