More than five months ago I tried to get a separate account (I had a shared one until then) at AT&T. After I did not receive a confirmation after two weeks that I indeed had my own account I decided to call and close that account and go somewhere else. I was told they had closed it. The person who shared the previous account with me then continued to receive emails with invoices for that non-existing account under MY name.
At this point, I cannot tell how many calls I made and how many times I was assured that the account would be closed (I have no access to this alleged account and never had).
I have filed a complaint with BBB and the Attorney General. I was called by some director's office and they refuse to acknowledge that I tried to get this account closed months ago and don't want to drop charges. They also said that would close this account. Yet, I continue to receive charges via the person I used to share the account.
It is the Hotel California and all I want is to leave and never hear from AT&T again in my life. read more
