I purchased items on my Kohl's card on 11/29/24 in the Berlin VT store. I was going to Kohls at another location a few days later, so I decided to check my account online.
The purchase I made had gone through with a DUPLICATE purchase for the same date pending. Considering I had just made a payment and should have had enough credit to use that day, this was incorrect. I immediately called Kohl's customer service. The first person I spoke to looked at my account, and said yes they charged you twice for the same thing. I said I wanted it reversed immediately, it was affecting my available credit. He said he couldn't do that and transferred me to another dept. The woman I spoke to there told me that it would take 4 days to drop off. It is STILL showing pending.
I told her I have had this problem with this store 2x last year. At that time I was told by YOUR customer service, it was the store. That they are hitting something when cashing me out that rings up twice, even though it only shows up once on the receipt. I had a problem then too, had to wait, but at least they made an effort to reverse it.
I am being told there is nothing they can do and this is normal when a charge goes through, that sometimes it can charge twice , one pending until the original charge goes through. And then the second one will drop off. What kind of logic is that?
I called again yesterday. Got the same thing. They are not reversing it. They are doing nothing. This is their ERROR, whether in the store or customer service. They don't care, and are NOT taking responsibility for this. I am extremely dissatisfied that the DOUBLE charge is still there. I did shop at another Kohl's the day I checked my account. I didn't use my Kohl's card. I have been a customer for years, and honestly think we all deserve better. When I called this should have been corrected immediately.
The fact that this has ONLY happened at the Berlin store, is a question too.
I would like the duplicate charge off my card IMMEDIATELY!!! This is seriously make me rethink shopping at Kohl's.
Just to wrap up here, I just tried again....Was told the same exact thing. That there is nothing they can do. There is only 1 charge, and they have to wait for the pending to drop off. In the meantime it's affecting my available credit.
