I am a home delivery person and very rarely visit the store. Get used to a highly repetitive diet. Bakery is overly sweet. Food overall is a little pricier. No real sales as with the high-low supermarkets. Most of the fresh fruit is inedible. Just try ripening a peach and compare it to the succulent beauties at Shaw's! Despite my highly repetitive diet, they are chronically out of stock on one thing or another. They use an unnamed 3rd party delivery service, and they are literally (nickel and) diming me to death with all the single foods getting its own bag! This added 10 cents each to my cereal and to my frozen pops for getting their own bags. The Vermont bag fee is about reducing bags by charging 10 cents to DISCOURAGE USE OF BAGS ON SINGLE ITEMS. The delivery service either does not know this or does not care.

TLDR: loyal customer highly recommend…read more I've been shopping at the Berlin price chopper for over 2 decades. i also shop at the nearby Shaws and Hannafords. I prefer the Price Chopper. The store layout works for the way I shop. sometimes walking every isle to see what I cannot live without and sometimes going to specific items and leaving. I've been there most hours they are open ( variable work schedule ) There are occasions when there are long queues for the registers but they are, in my experience, infrequent and short duration. The staff is a mix of long time employees and recent additions to the staff. Everyone is helpful and pleasant when I encounter them. I even see some of the staff outside of work ( with their families at local events or dining out etc ) Sometimes price labels on the shelves are not updated properly resulting in items appearing on sale when they no longer are. pronging this to the attention of staff after checkout always results in confirming the shelf label and honoring the price ( issuing a refund ) for my transaction. parking is rarely a problem as the lot is kept reasonably clean and clear of snow in winter.

Told wait will be 25 mins. 2 others arrived after me & within 20 mins picked up their meds. Pharmacist did not seem focused on filling script but she was talking with others, helping someone with delivery of copy paper, etc. After 45+ mins, meds ready, 2 of 3 scripts only had 8-12 pills, not enough to get me thru Tuesday when more pills available. At noon went to another pharmacy have scripts transferred from Kinney. After 5 hours Kinney called requesting me to complete sale before they would transfer script. Consequently, it was too late for the script to be transferred & filled by the other pharmacy that day. This was the second bad experience with not enough pills and poor service. On a positive note, the other pharmacist was working hard and "staying on task". He filled multiple scripts without interruptions.

I know they're busy, because all the pharmacy business from a flooded nearby town, moved over to…read morethem. I acknowledge how hard the employees are working. But Kinney as a corporation should be ashamed of themselves for not adjusting to the business overflow, and putting strain on their employees. It's gotten worse over the last two weeks, probably because employees have resigned in exhaustion. PAY THEM MORE! My main complaint is the phone. I've spent over an hour the last two days on hold, being sent back to the front of the store, and then back to the pharmacy. If employees are going to be instructed to ignore the phone, then this should be indicated in the phone maze. It's simple -- "The pharmacy is currently not taking phone calls due to increased customer volume." Done. People not happy. But not wasting time waiting for someone to pick up. And Kinney corporation? SHAME!

RIP prepared beverages. Abnormally generous employee benefits seem ripe for cost cutting, as these expenses are directly passed on to shoppers. There are plenty of folks in our community who are completely priced out of shopping here. I have slowly begun to take my business elsewhere.
