If I could give Berlin's location a negative star, I would. This is the third time I've been harassed by employees with their little handheld devices by the door. I am not stealing from your store, in fact I probably spend anywhere from $800-$1,000/month at your store. To be charged at in front of other customers and accused of not ringing in products that are clearly on my receipt is not only embarrassing but just degrading. I don't appreciate it and especially in front of my daughter who is Autistic and nonverbal. I know this review will fall on deaf ears but if I didn't have to go to Walmart in Berlin due to it being one of the only options in the area, I would not be a customer. read more

I am a home delivery person and very rarely visit the store. Home delivery, while much, much better than showing up in person via GMT bus (no longer drive), it has many, many problems in the year and a half I have been with them. Get used to a highly repetitive diet. Bakery is overly sweet. Food overall is a little pricier. No real sales as with the high-low supermarkets. Most of the fresh fruit is inedible. Just try ripening a peach and compare it to the succulent beauties at Shaw's! Despite my highly repetitive diet, they are chronically out of stock on one thing or another. They use an unnamed 3rd party delivery service, and they are literally (nickel and) diming me to death with all the single foods getting its own bag! This added 10 cents each to my cereal and to my frozen pops for getting their own bags. The Vermont bag fee is about reducing bags by charging 10 cents to DISCOURAGE USE OF BAGS ON SINGLE ITEMS. The delivery service either does not know this or does not care. read more

Some friends and I went through leaps and bounds to all safely quarantine and get tested to spend a weekend away. We found a beautiful house in Warren to retreat to and knew we needed to stock up on some groceries. As there aren't many options in the area, we decided that a Walmart Supercenter surely must meet all of our needs... but eh, not quite! We walked in and were a bit shocked to see how actually small this 'supercenter' is. It felt smaller than a regular Walmart... if that makes any sense? The only part that looked big was the garden area which we didn't really go through. It's also connected to a mini-mall which was different too. I used to work at the store and there's a lot of stuff that happened when I was there. The first day that I was there, another employee punched my supervisor in the face because the supervisor was treating him so poorly and degrading him. A few weeks went by and I was going to go to the restroom and saw another employee go in there and when I finally was in there, I heard the other employee watching porn. And this employee still works there till this day. When I was working there during the pandemic I unfortunately got Covid, and I told my supervisor and the store manager Sarah. She told me that the only way that I was going to be going home was if I had any protected time off now this was still during when Covid was really really bad. On top of all that, I worked with pretty much any product that came into the store. Now, down to the reason of why I got fired from there was, I was defending my own property out in the parking lot from another employee. That was going to be hitting my car with one of the automated carts for customers. From there is when I got fired and could never work at any Walmart ever again in my entire life mind you they are always constantly needing help. When I tell you that they fire the people to actually do their job, they really do they would rather take the people that don't ever do anything for their jobs. read more

My phone dropped out of my pocket while shopping there; the main desk took my home number and promised to look for it; I got a call at home a few hours later to let me know they found it. I was so appreciative of their sincere concern. The people who work at customer service should get a raise. Very grateful. read more

What to say? It's a rural Walmart. You see it all. It's visibly dirty, there are the stereotypical "People of Walmart", and the self checkout is always packed. You go here because you need something that's cheap. read more

EVERYONE HERE OBVIOUSLY HATES THEIR JOB.... luckily they've eliminated some of the employees by adding many self check out sections (which has its pros and cons). all the other staff though usually do nothing and sit around, occasionally stocking the shelves. the women who work at customer service are disappointing to planet earth in every way... they are rude, slow, and seem like they wish they were aborted but are pro life. read more

The store is practically all self checkout. Unless they are paying customers they shouldn't be making them ring themselves up.. With the self checkout comes the longer lines because of customers who don't know what they are doing. read more

My first impression of the Berlin Wal-Mart was like that of any other, ample parking and crosswalks for pedestrians leaving the store. However once I entered the store I was not greeted, they did not think that it was important to give customers an exceptional shopping experience on a Monday! Perhaps it was the greeter's day off but this immediately put me off. I was helped quickly and efficiently by the customer service representative who was AMAZING! She was funny and professional, she should get a raise. I had returned Fruit of the Loom socks because they were too short for my boots even though they said specifically on the package that they were short boot cut, nevertheless Wal-Mart let me return all 12 socks (I counted) for a new pair. The men's clothing section was in partial disarry but I was untettered by the scattered remnants of Hanes and Fruit of the Loom. Though I didn't find what I desired in the athletic sock sections (not marked but it was an assumption) a couple laps around the department and I found the work sock section. This had a GREAT selection and boasted at least 6 different varieties of sock. I also found some black long underwear which will be much needed for this coming winter. I scanned the men's clothing for swimwear but it was no where in sight. Presumably this is because it is September and the season for swimming is over but they could at least carry a small selection for those hot tub lovers in Vermont. After double checking for swimwear in the sports section of the store I perused the beer offerings. I was impressed to find some local Vermont beers among the selection and bought a Double Bag Ale from Long Trail Brewery, though it was dusty. DUSTY! This was a strike against Wal-Mart. At the checkout my cashier was helpful in directing me to the cash back options on the debit screen. Though I told her I did NOT need a bag, she put my socks and long underwear in a bag. I quickly took them out of the bag and left it sitting on the bagging turnstile. Evidently she does not care about the environment or the preferences of the customer. This was another strike. Overall I would say that this is a more sparsely stocked Wal-Mart and should only be used if it is in the vicinity and if you want to return items. read more

Nestled in the Berlin Mall this is a small Wal-mart in comparison to others I have been in, but they make the most of the space that they do have and jam pack it with everything they've got. I went in on a Saturday to find oil for my car and didn't mind that no one was able to ask me for help as I really didn't need any. Parking lot was a little insane. I've never really been anywhere but Rutland where parking became an issue in Vermont. I'm not sure if this is a new trend, but I've never been there when it was as busy as it was that day. read more

If I could leave 0 stars on a review I would. Every time I come in here I get treated like dirt or a criminal. I literally just went in to grab boxes from the Bakery/Deli for moving and I told the guy at check out that they were just empty and if he wanted to check he could. He straight up ignores me so I headed toward the exit. Just before I get out the door the same guy asks for a receipt..... Let that sink in for a moment. Empty boxes from freight, they asked for a receipt. Then out of nowhere a security associate appears and starts looking through the boxes, blocking other customers from leaving. Poor treatment and backwards attitude. Would definitely NOT recommend coming here. read more

4 years ago this wal-mart was ranked one of the worst of it's kind. Now I believe it's ranked closer to the top in the area. It's cleaner, neater and the staff has been trained to be more customer friendly. The managers are all of the opinion "Take care of the customer" which holds true to Sam Waltons original business model. Berlin Wal-mart appears to constantly trying to improve it's standards and considering the cesspool of applicants I'm sure they have, I have to give them a high-five for what they HAVE pulled off. And to the chick who posted on this review as well, Lambskin condoms are terrible. I agree with the guy who originally told you; Lambskins are a thing of the 50s. read more

This WalMart simply SUCKS. I will go there with a simple list and leave with NOTHING on it. The inventory is so poorly stocked I often bitch about it WITH the employees. I went there 3 different times for a coffee maker, and they only had the $100+ models in stock. Air popper popcorn maker? Hahaha, good luck. Simple household items are nearly impossible to find, and the prices are higher than the Williston WalMart. It's just easier to make the half hour trip to Williston and get everything on your list and at a lower price. The staff is a mixed bag, the worst experience I had was a young man that told me when purchasing Lambskin condoms, with my husband, "these don't work". I proceeded to explain to him that they work unless you have AIDS. I thought it was very rude that the employee, who appeared to never have been laid, giving me advice regarding my purchase. The parking lot does suck, with one way lanes that nobody seems to follow and is definitely territory for some good "people of WalMart" photos. read more

Went in the other day for one item (it was that time of month) and I was a little desperate. I walked up to the register and was told that they weren't open yet. I was in the store wasn't I?! They said they didn't open for another two minutes. I'm sorry because I'm a patient person, but there are some things in life that can't wait two minutes! After pleading for them to make an exception, I left and ran over to Maplewood. A great 24/7 store that I was in and out of in 2 minutes flat. I was greeted with a smile and given a little bag without me having to ask. I will probably have to go back to Walmart, but if I have another option, I'll take it. I want to be treated like a person, not a nuisance. read more

Really? The staff on the floor and hanging around in front of the register in the way in front that are either supposed to be stocking or managing or performing customer assistance does nothing but block you from shopping or checking out. I do not want to hear about their personal life or watch them stuff food in their face while I am trying to hurry during my lunch time to run errands. This happens VERY often. On the other hand, I find that there are many qualified people at the register that greet me, are quick to provide customer service, and never seem to be lazy. Maybe you should give the check out cashiers a raise and tell the rest of the staff to actually perform some job tasks! read more
