If you can find another service provider for the internet and directv, I suggest you do that. The problem is, there are really only two providers for stations similar to directv and comcast. That is a monopoly and that is why they have such poor and degrading service. They know a customer only has a couple of options, and that lack of caring in service is intended from such monopolies.
At&t called us to do an upgrade. They scheduled the upgrade at their convenience, and we abide by that. The service person did not like me asking questions and would not give me any kind of date as to when they would be back to fix the issue, our phones lines were down because of this upgrade. Prior to that we had no issues. He said they were busy and when I asked if they'd be back in 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, he said he could not say. Every consumer deserves to have some kind of timeline. He said that wasn't his area. But as he was leaving he was upset and while I was at the door, he pushed the door on me intentionally (we have a black iron gate for the front door), because of his anger in my questioning. I called and complained about them hiring violent employees going into someone's home, that is not right. The person I reported it to assured me they'd take care of the situation and would give me feedback. Well, of course I never got feedback and things only got worse with their lack of inefficiency and not caring about the customer. My mother does not have a cell phone, so I explained that we needed at least the phones working. My mother is 86 and being without a phone is dangerous. I explained this, and they did not care. I spoke with a manager and she did not seem to care enough either for any kind of significant follow through. She just transferred me to yet another inefficient group that had me on the phone for about 3 hours and they only ended up giving me the same time and date I originally called to schedule earlier, because of my mother's situation. One of the people I spoke with even had the nerve to say that the threatening man who pushed the door on me, that, that was his word against mine. He brought that up on his own, there was no need for him to discuss that with me. I'd already reported that separately and made it clear that I was not calling because of that at that time. He did not need to bring that up, and then pretty much called me a liar before they'd even looked into the situation. I'm against monopolies because of these kind of actions and wrong doings to the customers.
This kind of behavior is generally from the CEO and down. I have worked many years in customer service at fortune 500 companies and if the CEO found this kind of service inappropriate the employees would not be responding as they did( especially not so many of them. I spoke with about 4 or 5 people). This behavior is encouraged from top down. As long as the profits are not effected, they don't care how consumer's are treated. If you can find a better service provider do that, because we the consumers' deserve that and should be treated with respect. read more
