I just want people to know how DIRECTV treats their elderly customers. My mom came down with Covid really bad was very sick. She canceled her cable because she wasn't even in the house she was with us and we were taking care of her trying to keep her alive, the cable company DIRECTV decided they would reinstate it without even letting her know she was not there at the house and still till this day is not there at her house and they're trying to charge her $185 telling her if she doesn't pay it that she's just gonna accrue more charges. We are taking this to Corporate and she will not be paying a bill for SeRvice that she had already canceled. They are the most awful company and they do not treat their elderly people good at all I want this to go viral my next stop is the news station read more

Here's my problem. Every 25 minutes or so my screen goes black for about 5 seconds. When I called DTV I was told they dont use the reciever boxes anymore and if I want to solve the problem I need a NEW device ( guessing like a firestick or roko type unit for the back of my tv. 10 bucks more a month times 2 for two sets. I hate spectrum too but i may just go back there or drop tv service and just stream. I coukd give you an hour on how when we moved DTV told us to take the equipment and call for free installation after the move. 3 install apps, 3 excuses why they couldn't install for 3 months then a bill foe 3 months of service followed by a bill for 400 for failure to return equipment they told me to take wuth me for later installation. The good part was after all was said and done and I owed them nothing the facts revealed they owed me money. Got a hefty gift card and a deal from the local canke company instead. Got new phoneshere in Ohio, took the ATT DTV bundle. Service - Poor. Cost High. Decision timeI. read more

Directv is a terrible value. Their customer service is terrible when they talk to you. They leave you on hold and if you choose Chat they will only sell you the service. There is no Chat service. It' s only sell sell sell. TV is virtually free for 100's of channels and Directv charges $180 a month. No premium channels no customer service. On top of all this they won't shut off the service when you ask them too. I feel sorry for anyone they do business with. Awful. read more

My mother-in-law passed away and I cancelled her DirecTV account. I cancelled her landline and Internet a year ago. We received her bill for March and it had a $202.88 credit, or so I thought. My husband and I have been with ATT 40+ years and thought the credit could be transferred. After 3 calls and attempting to understand 2 non English speaking reps, I was told the credit was $8! Whatever happened to English speaking reps who are in the United States? Not to mention, but lately, many of our premier channels are consistently pixelating and impossible to watch. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. If I could ever speak to anyone who is not reading a script it would be so refreshing. read more

We have had this mess for a month. We've had nothing but trouble with it. We called today with a dish issue. They wanted to charge a $99 to come out to try and fix it. REALLY! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! The service is horrible! Was nothing but aggravation from day one. Canceling this mess and going back to Roku which is ALOT better than Directv. read more

I call to pay my bill they give me a figure i say ok. Then the next bill comes and they tell me I didn't pay the correct amount last month so it is much higher than i planned on. I had talked to someone 4 yes 4 months ago about auto pay. They took all my information and said it would be effective on my next bill. NO that never happened. There price is out of site especially for seniors. read more

I've had AT&T bundled with Direct TV since 2008! I'll be glad to get out!! Terrible service all away around! Too much trouble with Direct TV and Internet. Man our Directv has gone crazy since the storm last week. We have 3 receivers - one DVR and two non-DVR in bedrooms. The two bedroom receivers died during the storm (the power went off and on a few times). Directv says they'll replace them free in 2-3 days but it's been 4 days and counting. We'll see. This morning Nadine got up and turned on the TV in the Living Room. No sound. So she watched closed captioning for an hour. I get up and run through all the 'Settings'. No joy. Change the TV to HBO MAX and there is sound but nothing from Directv. After checking and resetting just about everything for 40 minutes I finally reset the DVR and presto! sound. Bear in mind we had no extreme weather last night so we have no idea why this happened. We are not pleased with Directv to say the least. read more

This is BS. No NBC ! I Pay extra for local channels. What a ripoff! They don't care too! Not their problem. They need to pay the bill , keep the channel on. We have to when their prices go up. We have no choice but to pay their increase. We are in a contact and they still can raise your bill. Will be dropping when contract ends in March. ZERO STARS. read more

DIRECTV - ZERO STARS - Television Service Providers Near Me

This company is corrupt and dishonest. I agreed to a 12 month price point in February of 2018. In December 2018 they raised my price without telling me and not honoring the 12 month agreement. Then when I canceled the service they phantom billed me for another month for almost $100. Their excuse is it was a billing cycle issue and couldn't be changed. This is after they failed to complete the 12 month agreement. A few years ago I left ATT for similar reasons. Wow, who owns Direct TV. ATT. Stay away from ATT and DirecTV. They are shady. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS A company doesn't get so many consistent one-star reviews for good service. If anyone is considering using their services, hopefully, these consistent negative reviews will help you make a decision to pick another vendor. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

The only reason im giving them 2 stars is because of the 2 or 3 people i spoke to! Ive have been dealing with moving my service for almost 4 days now. They dont know how to keep notes, transferring to correct departments, transfer simple address to address!! I have spent a total of 2 hours a day for 4 days now. My credit card expired; no notice from DirectTV regarding the problem with the card; they did however successfully notify me that they cancelled my account. They said it was normal practice to cancel a streaming service after two weeks of non-payment. I was forced to create a new account and buy a new subscription. Initially I was told that I would need to send my 3 boxes back via UPS and they would send me 3 new ones. What???? How do they keep customers? If I had a better option I would go with it. read more

Honestly I wish I could pick zero stars. I called direct tv got a package setup, which that in itself was a nightmare, there was a separate representative for almost every question I asked. It took 45 minutes to setup a tv package. Anyways, I got through the setup process over the phone, scheduled my install date and cleared my work schedule for the 3 hour time window they gave me..... The day of the install I waited until 30 minutes after the latest time for the tech to show up. The guy simply never showed. I called direct tv and I was told and yes I'm quoting, "your appointment was cancelled because you changed your order." Well the truth is I didn't touch my order after I hung up the phone when I placed the order. And I had confirmed my appointment three times with the rep before hanging up the phone. What was direct TVs solution? Try to schedule another appointment a week and a half later. I was livid. They kept blaming me when I didn't do a thing to my order after confirming everything and even got the email confirming the appointment. Oh and they told me I had to call THEM after receiving the email to confirm the appointment. That's when I lost it. I managed to get a district manager on the phone and explained my story. This lady was the FIRST person to have a brain in their head. She told me there was an error in their system which kicked my appointment out and that I never had to call in to confirm any appointment. I told her I was done and to shove the whole deal. Apparently direct tv may be able to "Direct tv" but they have no direction in customer service. Poor company. Poor service. Get DISH instead. Took 10 minutes on the phone and was installed the next day. The NEXT DAY. read more

I am trying to be fair but waiting 45 minutes for each telephone call is beyond bad customer. The Federal Trades Commission, commonly known as the FTC, charges DIRECT TV with "Deceptively Advertising the Cost of Its Satellite Television Service." The complaint begins with the "Company Advertises Discounted Monthly Prices, Fails to Tell Consumers about Two-Year Contract Obligation, Significant Price Increase in the Second Year, and Need to Cancel "Free" Premium Movie Channels". I include that, while the complaint begins with these serious problems, my experiences also includes Physical Damages to my property, Lack of Timely Communication with the company and the Lack of Service Representation from the company. By an agent representation for the company, I mean the difficulties speaking with any agent who can help. Contrarily, it is easy to walk into a brick and mortar place and meet a living person in their Complaint Department. Instead we get to phone Direct and AT&T in a robotic call that shuffles us around in a time consuming way, frivolously wasting away our patience. They even forced me several times to use their worthless, troubleshooting website that had no usable answers. If I cannot get help with my installation and service problems before they fester as is my case with Direct TV, I should at least be able to quit the service and get rid of their troublesome equipment ASAP. Listen up people, that's not happening with this company. Furthermore, I would not let the AT&T merger into the "AT&T Family" fool us either. If it really is a family, then let me say that is not how my family treats another family member. Here, AT&T passes the buck by sending us back down the robotic call lane again searching and finding worthless agents assigned to the virtual Complaint Department. This is putting the consumer, (you and I) back in a robotic loop of crap wasting more of our valuable time. AT&T should be held accountable by the FTC for the mistakes carried by the merger of the black sheep in their family too. Or is it just more corporate BS? I would NOT RECOMMEND this service for those reasons above and more, which I will not waste your time unless you send me a note. Because of the myriad of problems that are bound to the contract, it was well worth the EXTRA $400 I lost getting rid of it. I liken it to that piece of paper contract sticking to your shoe after you left the public restroom. While getting rid of it, my advice is to use rubber gloves and industrial cleaner as soon as possible. read more

-5 star rating. I've never had such horrible service. We switched from dish to direct to save money. The tv service is OK. But now that our 2 yr contract is over they are charging me almost twice what I was before. So I called to get it fixed. The lady said I had to pay out total balance to reinstate our service and change it. So now the total she said I had to pay and the total that was due was different. No one went over my bill, no one said it was a reinstatement payment and I would have to pay the rest later. So now that I called them about it they say that's the service you used and you have to pay. I told them that sucks and I shouldn't have to pay and I want to cancel my service. I have never had anyone be little me so much. I will be telling everyone about my horrible service and to never use direct!!!!! Oh and this star rating I want to give them a -5 stars. read more

My next call will be to ATT wireless tomorrow to cancel the cell service I've had for 21 years. My father in law lives with us and he is disabled and can do much other than watch TV. I called the next day and got transferred to 4 different people. Problem never resolved. They should pay someone overtime to come fix their mistake. We had to alter our schedule to be here missing out in work. No call no shows are the most disrespectful thing to people time. I would give ZERO stars if it were an option. First, and foremost, a DirecTV representative came to my home and sold us on an offer that was too good to be true. Installation was supposed to take place that evening and the crew NEVER showed up. We kept our children awake 2 1/2 hours past their bedtime waiting for them. We called and rescheduled for them to be here at 9 the following morning. NEVER showed up. Rescheduled, again, for 6 pm. The guy came right on time, but was here until 10 pm, again, keeping my kids up late. We were supposed to recieve a call for internet install within a few days, NEVER happened. After crappy service and a horrible user interface, we cancelled our service BEFORE the next billing cycle so we wouldn't be charged for the following month, as it is a prepaid service... Well, they STILL charged us the monthly fee. Don't watch TV anymore! We lived in Stockton, CA when we had our first subscription with DirectTV under my name. My family moved to Lathrop, CA after 2-yrs. While I was out of the country last 2008, I contacted DirectTV to transfer the subscription to the new address. I thought everything went well, but later realized that I was paying 2 subscriptions a month for different addresses for more than 6 months. Merely my fault or the company's fault for overlooking my name? Added another subscription instead of just transferring the service. We only wanted to watch International channels, but obliged to sign-up for the basic cable at that time. Policies, policies! Recently laid-off, had to cancel unnecessary expenses and cable TV was one of them. The company required a $200 cancellation fee. I ended up paying $376.28. I did not know that even browsing an On-Demand channel and accidentally press play and changed the channel right away was a crime. Apparently, one of my younger brothers did not know what he was doing checking on restricted channels. I canceled my subscription alright, but the card from the box was retrieved and all the "On-Demand Not Watched" movies were charged. I know they were not viewed since the duration were only 1 minute or so. That should be a sign for them. I voluntarily unplug the telephone line from the box when we had it. It was a failure. I shouldn't have returned that card. Check on what your kids are watching and changed the settings for parental controls in the cable box. Verify your subscriptions too before changing or transferring them. Try not to be tied-up in yearly subscription. Last time I checked, DirectTV requires 2-yr subscription. Be well informed! read more
