Delivery sushi might have a weird reputation. I mean, you think of beautifully presented fresh fish on fancy plates. Well sometimes that's just unrealistic. Mika Sushi has great Yelp reviews and they're not far from our house. We ordered them on DoorDash and we were stuffed after dinner! When I say stuffed...these were some of the LARGEST sushi rolls I've ever had. Normally I can house two specialty rolls, and these were LOADED to the brim. My mouth was barely wide enough to down these GIANT rolls in one bite (keep it PG). Mexican Roll ($16.95) // spicy yellowtail, cucumber, salmon and jalapeño. A little heavy handed on the sauce. Spicy, savory, tasty. Godzilla Roll ($17.95) // spicy tuna, spicy yellowtail, avocado, tuna, seared salmon, special sauce. Loaded with flavor, well balanced, filling. Rock Shrimp ($10.95) // fried shrimp with creamy sauce. Their take on bang bang shrimp. These were good, but would've been even better fresh out the fryer at the restaurant. Simple, easy, can't go wrong. I have to reiterate that these were maybe the BIGGEST sushi rolls ever. I don't know if it translates in the photos. Normally a sushi roll is sliced into 8 pieces; these could've been 10 or 12 pieces! I am full just thinking about this meal! Will have to check out the actual restaurant one of these days. Thanks for filling our bellies on a cold winter night.

Wow, how fortunate are we to find this unicorn of a restaurant that serves bò kho and many…read moreVietnamese staples. Their bò kho definitely reminds me of my father's recipe, which is rich and not overly sweet. This aromatic Vietnamese beef stew is a fragrant broth infused with lemongrass, star anise, and spices. It's a bowl of distinct and complex flavor profile that balances savory, sweet, spicy notes, with a vibrant brick-red color from the annatto seeds. The cuts of beef shank, flank, and chuck were soft so you know they spent hours simmering to achieve this level of tenderness. The deep beef profile is highlighted when adding bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime juice to cut through the richness and carrots provided a natural sweetness to the savory broth. Bánh canh is a Vietnamese noodle soup featuring thick, chewy noodles made from tapioca flour, rice flour, or a mix, served in a flavorful broth with various toppings like pork, shrimp, crab, or fish cake. The broth is clean from the hours of simmering bones to create a savory, collagen-rich base. You can taste the freshness of the soup garnished with fresh cilantro, green onions, fried shallots, lime, and chili oil. Plus you get a boat load of proteins and garnishes - shrimp cake, imitation crab meat, shrimp, quail egg, mushroom, tapioca noodle, onion, cilantro and black pepper. We'll be back and try the bún bò huế and cá ri.

Service was decent, like any fast casual. Nothing to call home for - they take your order and bring you the food. You get your own water/fountain drinks... and you get your own sprouts and basil at the station. The veggies were fresh and love that you can get as much as you want. You also get your own utensils and napkins. The amount of food you get for the order was plenty. I love the stainless steel bowls vs melamine at some other places. The not so good: The pho overall was decent but way over seasoned. I probably could have asked for a cup of hot water but they were looking to close 50 mins before the closing hour posted... so I hustled. The over seasoning has happened the last few times I've been here... I think maybe they are tailored to the local palate. The lady went around and cleaned up the tables around us when we were eating, I'm not sure what was in the solutions she was spraying vigorously around us, but made me feel nervous about the spray getting in my bowl of soup. Maybe it's her way of making us eat faster. Lastly, the last few times I've been, the floor was extremely slippery... it's one thing if I'm just sitting and enjoying my food, it's another when I have to go grab my own stuff and put my plates away. Definitely a hazard for the customers. I did notice a lot of their business is from take out so maybe not as big of deal... but if I have been here mid day, afternoon and evening... all are slippery... they might need to look into better cleaning methods for their floors. Maybe I'll come by to try the banh mi next time and skip their soups....

So naturally I showed up to investigate with my appetite, my unrealistic and dramatic standards, and the emotional support personality of someone who writes sonnets about raw fish. I'm not here for dinner. I'm here for an experience. Possibly emotional closure. I adore sushi. Which means my expectations, even in a landlocked state, are higher than my credit card balance. The restaurant itself? Oh, she's that mysterious queen tucked into a strip mall like she's avoiding her ex. Tiny. Moody. Dimly lit. The kind of place you almost don't want to review because selfishly, you NEED your favorite table available. Reservations, darling. Don't test fate. This hidden gem has officially been outed. When the sushi arrives, it arrives it not on some precious little plate. On a giant wooden cutting board fit for a king, or queen (wink). Sharing is caring. Unless you touch my last piece. Then all bets are off sweetie. The service? Fabulous. My waiter, (only went by S on the receipt...odd) mastered the ancient art of appearing exactly when needed and vanishing before becoming part of the conversation. Attentive without hovering. Give that man an Emmy. I ordered the Red Dragon Roll:Salmon, yellowtail, and avocado tucked inside...then crowned with tuna, jalapeño, and sriracha. Now let's discuss Miss Thing. The slices were thick. THICK. Like that gorgeous hottie you deny eyeing. Decadent. Chewy. Gorgeous. My only complaint? Girl, my mouth did not sign the consent form. I tried to be elegant. One dainty bite. Then the entire roll exploded like it had unresolved family issues. Halfway through I abandoned etiquette and accepted that looking cute was no longer on today's agenda. The salmon? Baby, If salmon tastes like it has unresolved trauma from three Tuesdays ago, I'm calling the authorities. THIS salmon? Fresh enough to still have opinions. It practically looked at me and said,Girrrrrrll, did you see what that tuna was wearing? That's exactly the level of freshness I want. Now, the rice. Rice is the structural engineering of the sushi. It should faithfully escort my sushi all the way to my mouth before gracefully retiring from public service. Mine only fell apart because those glorious salmon slabs required a jaw unhinge worthy of a python. So today, the rice has been pardoned. Knife work? Every slice looked intentional. Like someone whispered apologies to the blade before making each cut. Were a few pieces larger than others? Maybe. But honestly, the only thing smaller than my patience is my mouth. (Side eye) How do I feel about Wasabi? Please don't flirt with me. Attack me. I want enough wasabi to make me briefly question every life decision that led me into this restaurant. I want polite volcano energy. Like finding a lit firecracker in your sock drawer while someone calmly says, Enjoy! Presentation? Listen...Everyone online wants tiny edible flowers with tragic backstories and microgreens raised by monks. This restaurant said, no. Here's your beautiful sushi. On a massive communal cutting board. Figure it out. Honestly? Kind of iconic. The sauces also deserve applause. Nothing was drowning beneath an avalanche of spicy mayo and eel sauce. Because once every roll tastes like sauce... Congratulations. You've invented sushi-flavored ranch. Creativity is wonderful. Restraint is sexier. How was the cleanliness? EXCUSE ME. This place was immaculate. I'm convinced tiny sushi ninjas silently materialize every few minutes to eliminate fingerprints before they even happen. Not one sticky soy sauce bottle. Not one questionable table. Not one crumb living rent free. Ten out of ten. No notes. And the sushi chefs Calm.Focused. Mysterious. Absolutely looked like they've silently judged forty thousand chopstick techniques and still wake up disappointed in humanity. Next visit I'm ordering the nigiri. If the chef hands it to me with one solemn nod like they're entrusting me with ancient forbidden knowledge, I'm legally obligated to cry. Finally... The bill. Expensive sushi? Perfectly acceptable. This place actually felt refreshingly reasonable. Because my personal rule remains undefeated: If six pieces of salmon cost the same as my monthly car payment... That salmon better know my name, my zodiac sign, and ask how my mother is doing. Final Verdict: Hidden gem? Absolutely. Fantastic fish.Great service. Immaculate restaurant. Generous portions.Zero gimmicks. Just excellent sushi quietly minding its own business. Five fish flips out of five. Now excuse me while I make another reservation before the rest of y'all ruin my favorite table.

The noodles had a good chew, the broth is not too salty and creamy.... The toppings were delicious w good amount of spinach and menma, the poached egg runny - everyone was perfect for the ramen. I wished the pork/charsiu were sliced slightly thicker. It was nicely torch-seared. Service was decent, it is a self service restaurant for the most part, you order and they bring it to your table. The takoyaki was not freshly made but it had a crunch. The best part was their chicken karaage, such fluffy and airy coating and so nicely fried. Typically I'm used to a jammy soft boiled egg but those can be hard to make right and take more time to peel the shells. I do think the poached egg was tasty but an easy way out for a ramen shop. Def shocked that they were quite good in a strip mall, but I might have judged the book cover. Wished they had some cold beer or hot sake to go with the karaage for sure, I would never leave.

Over the last year and a half, I've noticed the food quality really decline. I hadn't been back in almost a year, but my sons convinced me to give it another try tonight. Unfortunately, we were all disappointed. The karaage chicken was hard as a rock and overcooked. The katsudon was also way overcooked and lacked flavor. The only thing that was okay was the shrimp shumai. Service was rough too. Our table wasn't pre-bussed, and we felt pretty ignored. When the waitress did ask how it was and I told her she then just wanted to argue with me about the chicken being well done and not even edible and I even showed her I couldn't even eat it. Wasn't even chewable. It was so cooked. It's just so sad to see how far this place has fallen. I really hope they can turn it around because having a good Japanese restaurant nearby meant a lot to us.

We passed on the saki but I watched on other tables as they received a shot of saki if they held their mouth open to receive it squeezed out from a container. We had a large group but most of us had the chicken and some added scallops. Before our plates were loaded with food we had a small salad and a bit of soup. Then in turn each plate was loaded with the proper food. Yum yum! I took home enough to feed me the next day.
