I scheduled a service appointment with Astound for Friday, 8am-12pm, and took the entire day off work. At 11:49am, dispatch called to say the tech would be late -- arriving by 2pm. Fine, I adjusted my day. At 1:15pm, I get a call from the same tech who had previously failed to fix the issue -- the same one I had requested NOT be sent again. He admitted he saw the note and suggested I reschedule for someone else. I asked him to just come by and replace the router. Instead, at 1:22pm, dispatch (Josh) calls and says, word-for-word: "We're rescheduling your appointment to next week." That's when I lost it -- I had already burned a vacation day! We argued, and I hung up in frustration. Later, Josh (the dispatch manager) called back, and we had a calm discussion. He apologized and booked me for Saturday, 1-5pm. I canceled my plans and waited. No one showed. No call. Nothing. This is beyond poor service. It's disrespectful and unacceptable. Astound claims to put customers first -- not even close. I'm done. Switching to Earthlink. I have been with this outfit for probably 5 to 8 years. I've had continued issues for the entire time. The Internet disconnects and takes a while to get back online. It's very frustrating. They continue to get more expensive year after year and the service gets worse. I wish it was better. I am discontinuing service because of this issue. read more

Ok look...I don't know what number of stars to leave because I had wonderful in person customer service and just a terrible online experience. Here's my advice: do NOT try to handle any problems over the phone. Completely ridiculously unhelpful. Not only was I not able to get through for 2 days, and not only did they send me a modem that wasn't able to be actually hooked up to my account so that I could access Internet, but they were unable to solve my problem over the phone even though I talked with two different people for over 2 hours. They then tried to convince me I needed to pay a technician to come out and set up my service, even though that wouldn't have worked either because the modem couldn't be attached to my account. HOWEVER, I went into the brick and mortar location and whoever was working at the desk was PHENOMENAL. I didn't catch her name, but she provided a solution within 5 minutes and was super kind and gracious the whole time. I saw her solve problem after problem with emotional intelligence as she made her way through the constant line. So meh to the company, but yay and immense gratitude to this person who saved my day. i paid for gig internet almost 2 weeks ago. they lady i talked to and set this up and told me that was not a problem, i told her that my father inlaw has service and that we can not mess with his service, he is older and is set in his ways. the lady told me about a roomate deal that they could use to get my own line into the house completely seperate from my father inlaws internet. i paid the 74$ to get the tech out here to install it. a week later when the tech was scheduled to install he showed up and told me that he cant put in a new line to the house because the address already had a line to the house. so the tech told us the only way to get the gig service to the house was to upgrade my father inlaws service, so i said fine lets do that. after setup i have yet to see the speeds that i pay for, the internet speed wont even push my twitch stream. i am getting 13mb's upload where i should be getting 39-40mb's. i expressed this to the tech and he told me and i quote "you have to wait 2-3 hours for the service to fully be implamented" sounded like he was full of crap that that turned out to be true. that night i went to stream and never even got it off the ground and live! buffering ever 5 seconds! so i called astound this morning and come to find out 1. what the first lady on the intial setup told me was a complete lie. no roomate deal, they cant even put 2 lines to the same address. 2. the tech that came over to install was fully aware that i was supposed to get my own line to the house, and proceeded to tell me that there is no way i can do that, after telling me that he was there to install my own line. then he fully knew that the line from the pole in the street to the house was copper, not fiber. so the speeds that i paid for intially, and then also upgraded my father inlaws internet to get, he knew i wouldnt get. this company is a sales company, not a service company. they upsell everything and lie to you inorder to get you to pay more! this company is full of liars, bold faced liars. btw - the techs name is corey! i dont feel like he shoul;d be working for this company! horrible business and customer service. in fact i spent 1 hour talking to the company on the phone just for them to tell me that the manager will call me later. still waiting...... complete and utter BS company. do not use. read more

I was just forced to have my boxes replaced with these new boxes that Astound is pushing out to all subscribers in our area and unknown to us it is a damn TIVO run environment now. WAVE/Astound customer for 3 years by necessity, as the only ISP available at the last two places we lived. Endless performance issues and outages. At current location, field techs tell us that management will not fix root cause of performance issues. Terrible billing practices. We had a credit card recently compromised, and Chase automatically canceled it at the same time WAVE autobilled it. WAVE added $40 (half our monthly fee) automatically to our monthly bill, without any form of customer notification (email, call, etc). Customer support informed us there is nothing they can do about the charges "because it is a legitimate issue, that is our fault". I don't like writing negative reviews, but I despise companies that leverage silent, penalty-billing without customer notification or warning, and provide no opportunity to correct the error. You know a company lacks all respect for their customers when they behave like this. We are excited to drop this company the second Starlink or any viable alternative is available. read more

The last 5 out of 7 days we have been without cable,phone and internet, there have been 4 service visits. The employee will fix our issue (same issue as very time), and leave. EVERY single time within 30 min our cable is out again. And it takes 2-3 days to get an appointment. Now I just got a notice the cable is out in the town I live in, and they don't know when it will be back on. They have not even offered me a reduction in my bill. They are pathetic. read more

For the 3 months I've had service I've been trying to get them straightened out. I just got another past due fee of $15 when the payment was made (and should have been received ) on time. Still a terrible company that just takes your money after they add new charges secretly. After having an amazing lady ACTUALLY help me and get what I want they once again with help information about their seasonal hibernation( which I literally asked for so many times but after months of not existing it now is a thing) they provide me 2 different versions. One of where I can pick up with my plan within 6 months and after 6 months it will automatically resume. But now it's a minimum of 30 days and max 9 months but when it starts up again it's a totally different pricing for my service since it was a promotion. Understandable but they should actually provide you with information instead of withholding all forms of info and make you fight for it. UPDATE!!! Still terrible service, finally offered seasonal service but neglected to tell me any details until after. Finally come off seasonal service and they try to charge me even more! $95!!! You would think that they would have some decency to actually inform its customers! I'm paying $85 and it's only me streaming right now and it WONT STOP LAGGING! But my "health check" says I have super speed internet and everything is working fine!!! I call bullshit The customer service person just ended my chat without helping me at all. Saw my struggles, blamed it on my streaming device (which has never at all affected my streaming before. In California I have never had an issue, a month back in Washington BOOM issues.) then tells me it's $80 just for them to maybe figure out if it's my equipment that's malfunctioning or not when I signed up with the bonus of free tech visits. Seems that once a month we have to reset our internet by calling their office and disconnect our equipment. This kind of sucks especially when we can are paying for the so-called fastest service. New to Sequim, we signed up with Wave for our Internet, WiFi, and landline. I also signed up for them to get my voicemails on their system. I tried to set up the voicemail by following their instructions, but instead of getting a set up program, I just get a demand for the pin, which is what I am trying to set up. At an impass I called their customer service 866 number. I have now been waiting for over an hour and a half. There is a loop tape of a man telling you all the things you should be checking with brief musical interludes which have intentional static overridding them which can only be an effort on their part to make calling customer service so miserable that you simply give up. At this point I think my ears are bleeding. This is ludicrous. Very disappointed. read more

Had Wave for about a year. Seems to drop out a lot and changes their account management every 3. Trying to pay a bill and they make it almost impossible without an in-person trip to their office. Used to be able to pay on-line. Seems like now it won't let me in and is making me re-register but keeps telling me my name doesn't agree with the account. Tried their chat bot. REALLY REALLY BAD! Changing rating and review. started chat later with a different agent. She solved my issue quickly and nicely. So left the rating on my average experience. First agent kept asking for additional information he didn't need. Second agent just gave me the info I needed and then fixed an account problem that was still keeping me from registering.
