Week later. Have not been able to connect with anyone at wave by calling them. No one has followed up on the support ticket. I am at a loss. Maybe I need to sign up with Twitter? This company would be a joke if it weren't being serious. How can their be service issue in my area on the day my service is supposed to start yet the service in the lobby works fine? If you're considering signing up with wave, just don't. Carving stone tablets would be preferable. Following up, some one called me, through my persistent messages to the sales team, a supervisor asked someone to reach out. The individual cancelled my (non)service and said i would not be charged anything under their 30 day satisfaction guarantee. read more

Astound - This is a picture of wave g internet service. (That is, no service) - Telecommunications Near Me - Seattle, Washington

Literally the worst internet experience ever. By all means do not subscribe to this service. Even in a completely new building, my Astound Wave service drops all connections around 8-9pm REGULARLY. No connection no matter how many times you reboot, and stays disconnected for extended periods of time. So many of people I know also have the same problem. Stay away from this at all cost. read more

Horrible company! Very unreliable internet, often fails. Speed not as advertised. Costumer service is a joke. They do not keep promises, say they will call back but do not, offer credits for all the problems but don't actually give them. If you want to have to constantly call in to troubleshoot your internet, then this is a great choice. To be very clear, I have called and complained multiple times, promised a call back several times, and have not received one. Update: i replied to the comment from the company but they didn't actually call me back. Further proves how terrible this company is. read more

If there were another option available for internet in my area, I would use it. The technicians are always kind and helpful, but the interactions otherwise are by far the worst and most inconvenient, causing me to miss work and be without access for days at a time. Avoid if you can. read more

My internet goes out multiple times a week for a few hours at a time. Sometimes for days at a time. Customer service is a hack and they can only get a technician out who literally unplugs and plugs in the modem. When that doesn't work the tech just says there is nothing they can do. Keep in mind they charge almost $200 for a tech to come out. All of this hassle is for $100 monthly for internet only. When I called to inquire about canceling my internet I was told I'm under contract and will pay a penalty to cancel. This is worse than Comcast read more

The service is good, need to reset it every once and a while. The all-in-one Eero modem/router they use is great. Their customer service is great too. read more

Extremely deceiving pricing. New customer price is $19 for 12 months and after that its "Standard pricing". When I asked the customer care rep, what is "Standard pricing" ? As I want to understand what should I expect to pay for 13th month of service, she told me she can't say and asked me to think of it like "predicting gas prices". Do not get astound internet, apparently they are gasoline providers instead of Internet service providers. When it was Wave, they were super transparent and never had issue for 4 years. After Astound its horrible!! read more

Recommend all should stay away if any other option is available. I never had service connected to my personal modem and was charged for a month when I had received a bill for it in the mail. I was forced to pay for an entire month of service without actually being provided service, after being on the phone with them for 6 hours and still couldn't get service connected. They have terrible wait times, terrible customer service, and will charge you for whatever they can without following up or providing adequate information. read more

Constantly losing internet service. Literally 3-4 times a week. No rhyme or reason. Their automated system is absolutely beyond annoying. They're unfortunately the only option. Horrible service and customer service. read more

Can't get a straight answer from anyone. Wanting a realistic eta for our service being restored. 11 days and counting. People can't do their jobs or study from home because of this outage. I will be finding a new provider. The lack of urgency and customer service training is beyond frustrating. read more

Frequent outages, yearly rate increases - much better options out there than Astound, at a better price.

Wave has been a good internet provider in the past but how they are handling the recent power outage has been terrible. Ever time I call Wave to check outage, their computer says the service will be restored at a certain time. Usually within 2-3 hours. It's been 4 days and still no service. I can't speak to anyone who can tell me approximate time frame. Very disappointed in Wave/Astound! read more

Second multi hour outage in the middle of a workday in the last 60 days. First one lasted over 10 hours, couldn't get any work done. Second one has been going for over two hours now. Best part is that their customer service doesn't even know what the problem is. If you work from home, stay away and just go with Comcast. I tried to support the "little guy" and avoid Comcast because of their stance on Net Neutrality. At least Comcast works while Astound just tumbles and does not take any accountability. Absolutely a joke of an ISP - doesn't even proactively communicate about outages. You find out for yourself and then have to DM your address to them on Twitter to get a confirmation. At least the installer was nice, professional and came on time. read more

I had to review the best internet provider for my needs when moving to the Seattle area. After speaking with a few reps, it was an easy decision to go with Theresa Tsukahara from Astound. From start to finish, Theresa's level of professionalism, expertise, and customer-centric approach exceeded my expectations. She took the time to understand my specific needs and provided a great solution for my online work. What truly set Theresa apart was her ongoing commitment to ensuring a smooth process. She personally oversaw the installation, coordinating with the technical team so my internet was correctly set up. She stayed in touch with me throughout so I knew what was happening - this made the experience much less stressful. The level of attention she gave me backed up how she prioritized customer satisfaction. I will recommend Theresa to friends and anyone moving into Ion Town Center for services from Astound. read more

You are a terrible company! Your internet cost too much for being the garbage that it is. Seriously like $100+ for your basic awful crud. You have outages where the internet is down for 1-2 days at a time on a regular basis. Stop monopolizing the internet in certain areas so that people are forced to use your crappy service. That is predatory. Stop breeching Antitrust monopoly laws with your bad service- both internet and customer service- being the only one people can select from. If people were not forced to have you as their provider, you'd likely be out of business. Instead you keep buying other providers so that there is no other competition and your turd product can reign unchallenged. You provide the absolute worst internet I have ever had the displeasure to have to use. Shame on your company for being able to charge money for it. I should be charging your for the pain and suffering I regularly endure from using your product. read more

Astound - Telecommunications Near Me - Seattle, Washington

The only company I've ever felt compelled to leave a review for. I would give them zero stars if I could, the outages are lengthy and constant and they rarely have an accurate ETA for services being restored. The second fiber becomes more common this company is done, nobody who uses them thinks Astound provides a worthwhile service. If you work from home, AVOID Astound. If you play video games online, AVOID Astound. If you're a sports fan, AVOID Astound. Awful and incompetent company. read more

I'd rather be charged 100 upfront than be told it's 30 a month and then be charged 64. Your deceptive practices will erode customer trust. Why shouldn't seattle people go for xfinity which charges what they quote? read more

It becomes hardly bearable at night. This sucks for me especially, since I'm mostly active during the night. I can't have fun with my friends. Telling them "sorry about my internet, I can't do anything about it" doesn't change anything. I wish there were other options in my area. And I'm not just a loser gamer or whatever, I'm just someone who values friendship and I hate to cause anybody any mild disturbances. But this garbage internet causes many mild disturbances. Wish I could give it no stars. This Internet is actual crap. Like they might as well put their Internet in a brown paper sack, put it on my front door, ring my doorbell, and light it on fire. The cost has gone up significantly, it's $100 for their Internet and it...is...so...slow (think Zootopia sloth slow). I am constantly freezing up during video calls, calls are dropping, videos won't stream. Then to top it all off, there are many days where the Internet will just not work for hours at a time. No Internet access. Can you imagine? It's 2023 people literally work from home. They don't do anything to speed up the process and to talk to somebody real takes hours on the phone. Their answer is basically tough shit we own you. Basically, they only have business because they have a monopoly. There's not a lot of options in some of the more rural areas, despite being a literal yard away from the urban growth area. I mean I live by Flower World so I wouldn't even call that very rural, but you would think I lived in the middle of nowhere. Doesn't matter what they rename this company, they have crappy Internet and bad service, and as soon as their monopoly is broken I'm switching. Maybe even before then. I almost rather have dial-up. read more

WAVE/Astound customer for 3 years by necessity, as the only ISP available at the last two places we lived. Endless performance issues and outages. At current location, field techs tell us that management will not fix root cause of performance issues. Terrible billing practices. We had a credit card recently compromised, and Chase automatically canceled it at the same time WAVE autobilled it. WAVE added $40 (half our monthly fee) automatically to our monthly bill, without any form of customer notification (email, call, etc). Customer support informed us there is nothing they can do about the charges "because it is a legitimate issue, that is our fault". I don't like writing negative reviews, but I despise companies that leverage silent, penalty-billing without customer notification or warning, and provide no opportunity to correct the error. You know a company lacks all respect for their customers when they behave like this. We are excited to drop this company the second Starlink or any viable alternative is available. read more

We've been a customer of WAVE before they were bought out, something around 20+ years. Never had any real issues but a few days ago our cable receiver went out. Called them up to replace it like everyone else does, turns out they charge $80.00! for them to do what every other ISP did for free. They've been charging us for years at $5.00 per month for rental costs and they refused to come out and replace it. We dropped their services that day and have just dumped cable altogether. I've never in my life seen something as absurd as fleecing their customers through phony service costs that are already covered under the absurd overpriced monthly bill. Avoid this service at all costs if you even can, they have a monopoly here. read more

Still epically bad! If you can choose ANY other service, do that! No response from customer service and regular loss of internet... regular!! Epically bad!!! read more

No one ever knows why there is a problem. Was on hold for over 20 minutes because cable and internet were out. They have chat bots that don't help but guide you to a site where you pay for an "expert" to help you. You can cancel but it still charges you $1. I pay over $200 a month, give me a break. Earlier, the tv froze about a dozen times before noon. This afternoon the sound and picture are breaking up. But, according to the Astounding Wave, there's nothing wrong. You can only reboot your modem so many times. We seem to have the most trouble when there isn't a weather problem, so they can't blame their poor reception on that. Customer service is nice but totally clueless. read more

Wasted an hour trying to setup an account because my landlord typed my last name wrong. Chat customer service was useless; they didn't tell me about the last name error or give me a way to fix it until I called. Also one of the rudest service agents I've ever spoken with. I've never once received a paper or email bill but my service was suspended, with zero notice, thanks to the last name error, and I was charged $40 to reactivate it. AVOID ASTOUND AT ALL COSTS. They WILL waste your time and try to cheat you out of money. read more

Our apartment frequently gets internet outages, I would say at least one or twice a month. I just took over our internet after our roommate moved out so I bought a new router and modem. They make you have it installed by one of their experts and they make you pay for it. The guy who came by? Super friendly and explained a lot while he set up my router and helped me set up and navigate our new eero modem. He is the main reason this 3 star rating isn't lower. Unfortunately that guy also didn't QUITE know what he was doing and set up my new eero right next to my tv. We were struggling streaming for a week before reaching out to eero and they said with smart TV and eero they need to be 5 -7 feet away or there's interference.. If it's a top rated item that you as a company are switching to? You should probably know not to put it 1 foot away from the TV. read more

Really unhelpful customer service. Frequent outages with no explanation or estimate of return of service. I signed up for Wave 3 years ago, and at that point, it was fine. Prices were good, my condo complex was 'All Wave' from my understanding and then found there were other options but they weren't so good either. Look, there are things that are just ridiculous about any telecom company but I've had better luck with Wave than any other of them. I'm almost never without internet, the pricing is a bit ridiculous as it just randomly goes up and then you have to call and argue, but I've had a few good techs and a few more bad ones. Overall? This service is garbage. I have Astound and StarLink as my choices due to location. (I am in a city, but just on the edge.) my internet drops 5-6 times a day. when I am off work on the weekend and actually able to utilize the service for more than a few hours it is consistently inconsistent. minor drops all day long. I recently had them come out and upgrade all my equipment with the latest. the field tech was a really great guy. Still service drops. on top of all that, it always seems to be "your" issue, according to the customer service, when the service isn't working and their prices just keep going up and up and up. My neighborhood facebook group says they all experiencing the same garbage service and at least a dozen of us have been heavily considering StarLink. I'm at my wits end with Astound's astoundingly unreliable service. read more

Terrible internet. High price ($90 for at best 200 mbps?). Loyalty means nothing. Started at $60 (Xfinity is $50, so go with them) and now at $90 with "no options" to go to the advertised price of 60. False advertising and bait and switch. Also once claimed I had a modem from them which I had never asked for, needed, nor received, and claimed I owed them over $300. So, crappy inventory management, billing, and low customer retention. Took me months to resolve the modem issue to which, for my hours of work and diligence, was given no discounts or credits but instead billed higher. Congrats read more

Where to begin? My partner and I were moving to a new apartment, literally in the same complex just another unit. More than a week before the move, I called to "transfer our service" to the new unit and it appeared all was going to go smoothly. A technician was schedule to show up on a Friday from 8 a.m. to Noon so I made sure to be in the new unit by 7:30 just in case. At noon, when no one had shown up, I checked with WAVE and discovered that the technician supposedly came by and left thinking no one was there. But, I was there the whole time. No phone call was made to me to see if I was home or check what might be the issue. After calling to discover no technician was coming (again, I had been there for more than four hours waiting) we were rescheduled for five days later. Working from home, this created a massive inconvenience as we didn't have access to any Internet capabilities for our computers or zoom calls. Explaining this to WAVE they said sorry, they were busy and that was the best they could do. When the technician did show up, he was unprepared (very nice, but didn't have all the equipment he needed for the transfer of service). He could only set up Internet in one room which we accepted because we desperately needed it for work. He was nice enough to call and make a follow up appointment for the next day to have someone come out and do the full install that was originally supposed to happen the week before. So, we waited again, made sure we were in the unit at the right time, and no one showed up. I called again to find out the same story -- a technician came out but thought no one was home and left. No phone call. No outreach. Nothing. Of course, this is bullshit because we were home the whole time -- both of us -- waiting. Called WAVE again, got the same story of we can send someone out again (wait, a FOURTH TIME?). I have no patience left for this kind of ridiculousness. We cancelled our cable service and will be using YouTube TV for that, and will have to live with their Internet service as that's the only option for the building we are in. I'd cancel it in a heartbeat as giving any money to this company seems like a waste. All I can say is plan ahead. Plan to get your time wasted. Plan for technicians not showing up. Plan for them to show up with the wrong work orders. Plan to have your new bill immediately arrive in your email and be due right away. Plan to work with customer service agents who are nice but unable to really make a difference (I feel so sorry for them). Plan to have to just accept this level of customer abuse because there are no other options. I've shared this experience with them via chat as well as with their customer service agents. Let's see if anyone with actual influence and power at WAVE calls me back to respond. If they do, I'll update this post. read more

I only started high-speed internet service back in 2021 for a new job working from home. I was happy with the service, although I was paying for gig speed and never even realized 100mps. After recently being laid off, I wanted to downgrade my service to minimize expenses. The best they could do for this 2 year loyal customer came to $89/mo for their lowest level service, although NEW customers can get this service for $25/mo (plus modem and taxes, but still...). I cancelled and will go back to using my phone hotspot, which served me just fine prior to Wave(now Astound) broadband. Way to retain, customers, Astound! read more

The worst technical support ever. We bought a new home in Allyn WA and only Astoud services the area. The technician came to the home and advise that he could not activate the internet service because the wires had not been pushed from the conduit box which is 8 feet from the front of my house to my home. A maintenance technician needs to.come out and do that and then a different technician needs to come out the house to active the internet. We were told that the longest it would take to get this done is 5 days. When I checked on the status, the agent told me it would take 4-6 weeks. I worked remotely and need to have internet so Astound response was we are sorry but there is nothing we can do. I now have to drive 45 minutes each way to use internet at a friends house until Astound gets around to pushing the wiring from front yard to the house. Avoid Astound if you have a choice. Unfortunately, we do not have other options. They are consistently BAD. Internet/Wi-Fi is total garbage. Constant outages. Has been particularly bad the last 6 months. There's only 2 of us in the household, we're older, so really not using that much (not gaming, don't have loads of devices). The last 2 weeks cannot watch movies/tv without CONSTANT buffering. Takes FOREVER to download. Calling them is hit and miss. Lately, couple times called them and they rebooted signal and it helped for a day or two. Then back to the same garbage. And watch their billing very closely. They raise and change rates on my bill a lot. Called and complained and they took off some of the bill, but lately something is up with their billing. DO NOT use Astound if you have a choice.
