Great breakfast place serving up fresh locally sourced food. My girlfriend loves scrambled eggs and was able to order a couple a' la carte. Served piping hot in a bowl with a light chives seasoning they were Ab Fab. The eggs had to have been free range as they were so flavorful. I ordered bacon and eggs and they were also spot on with very flavorful fresh tasting eggs. It accompanied by a couple of pieces of fresh sourdough bread and a really great raspberry jam. On the weekend get there when the doors open. Aster is the best breakfast in Marfa! If they were open everyday I would of gone back to try their lunch. Biggest regret but will have to come back. This was a random find! My wife and I were heading back to San Antonio and decided to try Marfa for breakfast. We didn't see much but saw a woman with a coffee cup. We circled like sharks and noticed people going into an area but we didn't see a sign. We decided to get off and jump in line. We were not disappointed. Great place for brunch! Cute and cozy. Limited seating and the coffee isn't very hot. The chocolate chip cookie could use some work but that's just me being fat. We will go again if we're in the area! read more

This was my second trip to Marfa in 2021. I had the lox plate back in March and it was so good that I just had to go back and have it again. Perfectly smoked salmon. Fresh tomatoes. Red onion. Capers. Cucumbers. Cream cheese. And the most delicious, buttery, crisp sourdough bread! I have to say this plate is fresh and alive with flavor! Oh, and the lemon bar was out of this world. One of the best meals I've ever had. The bread was to die for with a delicious jam. My eggs were perfectly cooked over hard which can easily be done poorly. The bacon was hickory smoked and delicious. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict. I'm always hesitant because I don't love hollandaise but it wasn't overwhelming. The dressing on the salad paired perfectly with the entire meal. Be prepared to wait for your food, it's a small kitchen but is cooked with love and care and 100% worth it. read more

Oh my goodness! I love love this place. Came for breakfast and there was line. Should have figured since it was worth the wait. It's small so lots of folks took it to go but we stayed and ate. I have the salmon with cream cheese bagel and salad with capers. THe other girls ordered a bacon cream cheese egg and cheese bagel sandwich with a salad. The portions can be shareable pending your appetite. I ate all of mine. The girls almost ate all of theirs. They should have shared. Highly recommended! The place is cute and has outdoor seating so we were able to bring our puppy. We stayed in the Airbnb right next door so it was also very convenience for us. The big issue is the wait time. You have to order inside and prepaid, which is unfortunate because we would have left before we got our food because the wait time was 45+ minutes. The restaurant should limit the number of seats, because the kitchen is obviously not big enough to handle the number of tables. read more

Great, hearty, northern European salads, sandwiches, and desserts (not too sweet - perfect!). I'd eat here again and again. If you came to Squeeze Marfa in this space before, you'll barely know the difference. The atmosphere is lovely and makes me think of cafes in Germany and the Nordic countries - rustic, relaxed, and neat. The service is prompt enough and I think they've worked out the kinks with wait time, but, both the staff came off as a little gruff. The food is stellar. Their bread is hearty and rustic - perfect to fuel a hike. The used of greens, just enough dressing, and the right cheeses really hits both texture and taste well. Like most central European and Nordic countries, the desserts are not too sweet. The fruit flavors stand out instead of being overwhelmed by sugar. Both baker and chef are pretty amazing. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Americans, be warned, it is more crowded than you are used to. Europeans won't be surprised at all though - it feels off the streets of a small European town. The furniture is somewhat rustic and eclectic, but it all feels clean and sensible. They would have a five from me, but, we felt a bit scolded by the owner who was working the counter. We had asked about this being similar to the prior restaurant and were corrected with a somewhat heavy hand. Then when we asked about the pastries we bought being available the next day we were sternly told they do not sell them the next day (but, they were there the next day!!!). We heard another diner get scolded and another diner sitting near us mentioned the gruff attitude. So, some work needs to happen there. It's Marfa, so, people just have to understand the high prices are part of life here. Businesses do low volume so costs have to be a little high for quality. It still was not that high in my opinion, given the great food and nice atmosphere. In a similar vein... wait time was a little long but not as bad as some day. Again, it's Marfa, such is life here. Came here on the way out of Marfa for a quick breakfast and coffee. I had a Chai latte with their homemade almond milk (yes, I know what I sound like) and it was so good I stood back in line after ordering my food to grab another. One of the three owners, Tabitha, took our order and brought us our food and she was super sweet and helpful. I forgot what the name of my order was but it was basically four mini toasts with different toppings and my boyfriend got the breakfast special of the day. We were goth pleased with what we got and felt energized for the day ahead. This business is only a few months old. We had a lovely breakfast. The Norwegian rosti and waffles. However it was a bit sad to see them grab waffle mix and slicing what looked like frozen baguette right through the plastic it was wrapped in. Mmm...bits of plastic! But the service was attentive. Because no one had made the waffle mix they thought we should order something else. Then they quickly made the waffles, so we got a third breakfast for free! The prices are ok. Nothing surprised me except the croissants. Seven bucks? That's a bit much to me. Luckily, they were delicious. read more

Aster was such a great surprise for us! We are doing a cross country road trip and decided to stop here for brunch just because of the picture of the salad they had on their google search. We were in desperate need of real food and veggies after being on the road for so long. Especially after the long boring drive through Texas!! Aster in Marfa was so delightful. Quaint, little place in a small town that served amazing Benedicts! We ordered the avocado and the smoked salmon Benedict. They both came with a simple mixed greens salad mixed with some vinaigrette, which was just AMAZING. So refreshing and delicious. The staff was also so attentive and sweet.
