This was the first restaurant that we ate at when we arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was in an adorable part of the city & liked very inviting. We were pleasantly greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant & they were very accommodating at seating the 2 of us because we had just come from the airport/train station & also had all our luggage with us. I had the homemade pizza & my husband had the LUGANICA SAUSAGE & 'NDUJA FRILLY TAGLIATELLE. Both were topped with freshly grated Parmesan after we were served. We were also served a shot of their freshly homemade lemonade which was delicious. The restaurant was very clean & cutely decorated. The service was outstanding & I would highly recommend a stop here on your list. After we ate here we saw several more locations in both Scotland & London so I assume that they must be a chain but you definitely don't get that feel by visiting this location. We loved it & would definitely return. The Sicilian lemon tart with vanilla ice cream was also outstanding! We loved the expresso & tea as well. Perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Like Caz H, I avoid big chain restaurants and Yes, I was pleasantly surprised. On both occasions the food was tasty and plates were empty! Occasion one, I had pizza, and the second-time round was pasta. On both occasions, I shared the arancini with the other person :) The food on both visits was pleasant. The noise doesn't carry too much, even if it's busy. The staff are friendly, and it's good, quick service. The decor is colourful and fun, full of kitchen implements and gadgets! It's a handy place to have in the West End for something quick to eat as well as filling.

I usually avoid big chain restaurants but had lunch here today with the girls in the office and had to say I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is clean and bright. The staff are friendly and there is something to please everyone on the menu. 4 in the group had the meat calzone and all plates were empty at the end, the sauce was good but I found my cheese was a bit clumpy at one end. The chilli oil was a good addition. One of the girls asked for no mushroom and they were happy to do that. They were ok with us paying on separate cards to settle the bill. The bathroom is downstairs & there's colouring in stuff if you're with small humans. Price point is fairly on par with other big chains, so slightly pricey for what you're getting but not hugely extortionate.

Not a bad option, but I was just disappointed in a few things so I don't think we'll return. First, lots of burning on the crust. I'm happy with some char, but burnt pizza makes me feel like I'm not getting what I pay for. The toppings were minimal and haphazardly added, but that's a small note. The sauce is decent, but for a thin crust, it was incredibly flimsy. A bit soggy. Good, crisp pizza should hold its shape when you lift it up! I think the oven is maybe too hot? Or they aren't rotating the pizzas? Because it's burning on the edge but not fully cooked on the bottom. I'm also confused on the mozzarella stick dipping sauce. Marinara is what you would expect, but this is a garlic aoli... so basically just mayo. Garlic was not strong. It wasn't horrid, but not great, and it's a weird combo. THOUGH, I will add the mozzarella sticks were beautifully crispy and the breading was nice and thin. I really liked the mozzarella sticks themselves. Overall, I would unfortunately not recommend this location.

Pomo Pizzeria is located in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh and was just a stones throw away from our hotel. We sat down and pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves! Their menu features pizza, pasta, a variety of share plates (appetizers) and more with a good amount of kid friendly options too. Posted on their wall, you'll also find their specials that include drinks and dessert. We went with a capricciosa pizza, risotto funghi misti, and penne arrabiata. For dessert, vanilla ice cream! Our food came out quickly and overall, pretty good. Flavors were a bit light and could've been seasoned more, but still good and didn't feel heavy on the stomach. What I really liked about the restaurant was the decor. It was totally my jam with a bit of the old world charm in the use of wood and their brick walls, mixed with modern fixtures and features. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the neighborhood! Prices are fair and don't break the bank.

We did that...but pizza is life...especially NYC-style pizza slices...so when Civerono's showed up on our radar a 2-minute walk from our hotel...there was nothing to consider...this was inevitable. One of their pizzas was listed by Timeout magazine as the 13th best in the world. Okay. Count us in even more. Now, we didn't get that one because it wasn't a vegetarian slice, but if they ranked so highly, surely the basic cheese slice would be at least acceptable. Spoiler alert: it was. My wife and shared a single margarita slice, split in half for the two of us. We were between lunch and dinner, so the main goal here was to try this pizza, not necessarily to fill ourselves up before resuming our Scottish-appropriate adventure. It was good. Super thin as a good NYC slice should be. If it were the local slice option for us back home, I would be happy with it. We thought the dough was a little bit undercooked, so not quite as chewy or crisp as we would have liked. It had a good mix of cheese and sauce, and the flavor was great. So perhaps not the best slice we've had, but miles above the chain pizza spots. The staff was really nice. We were there at about 3:30 in the afternoon, so it wasn't really very crowded. They have salads, and also Detroit-style pizza (Though I think only in full-pie form and only Pepperoni on the menu, so not sure if a vegetarian option is available if you're ordering a whole pie. It's a small but welcoming environment with rainbows everywhere. If we had a Civerino's near us in California, it would definitely be high up in the weekly pizza rotation.
