SPICY PEPPERONI & MOZZARELLA WITH PARSLEY AND PARMESAN
    Daren R.

Super busy restaurant with incredible gourmet pizza slices or full pizzas. It was a cold 54*F tonight so sitting on the front patio was not even a possibility so we ventured to the inside which was a visible adventure. Colorfully painted walls and the flames from the wood fired oven were in full force flaming up a gargantuan pizza. The server gave us some pointers on the different variations of pizza slices. Ordered a SPICY PEPPERONI & MOZZARELLA WITH PARSLEY AND PARMESAN. Odored this pizza which had a bubbled crust and chared underbelly. The spicy pepperoni was not overbearing and had a nice parmesan kick. Lots of take away and delivery orders flying out of the shop non-stop (Uber Eats and Deliveroo accepted). Obviously, this was a top notch pizzeria in the community and it helps being across from the University of Edinburgh. The bathroom was down a staircase which had black and white angled lines which made me dizzy as I slowly departed down and the bathroom was clean and very basic. Great place for an oversized slice of pizza at a fair price.

Crazy good pizza! I got onions and potatoes on my specialty slice. The place was packed and the take away (to go) was non stop! Nice looking place with neon lights. The tables and chairs were super close together which I don't care for but I managed.

Pizza before making our Islander bags

We had a 12:30 pm Islander bag appointment. We had a big breakfast but decided we needed a bite before making our bags then going to the castle. This pizza spot had good reviews. I will say it's solid NY style pizza (in my opinion). I had the veggie which was pre-made and just had a slice. It wasn't super filling which was okay because we had more snacks and a big dinner planned for later. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had and not the worst. Just a solid option on the run.

Outside the restaurant!! Just walked up to the door to order a slice of pizza :)

After a long day, I was looking for a quick takeaway dinner on my walk home. A friend recommended a slice of pizza from Civerino's so I made my way over! They had an ordering station right at the door. Not all of their pizza flavors are available to order just a slice but they still had sufficient options. I ended up ordering a slice of the margherita pizza. Be warned they're only given to you on a paper plate! I didn't mind since I planned on digging into it right away. It's a big slice! Honestly seemed like 1/4 of a pizza which was perfect since I was very hungry. It was really warm and cheesy and honestly an experience I'm eager to repeat again. It wasn't badly priced at 4.50 gbp, especially considering the size of the slice. They had lots of other yummy options on the menu so I definitely intend on returning. For anyone wanting a quick and inexpensive meal option, a slice of pizza from Civerino's is a good way to go!

3.5/5 A good stop for a quick bite to eat! I got a margherita slice and it was huge. Pretty decent pizza, not a ton of flavor but I enjoyed the crust. Service was a bit slow but was friendly.

Hard to tell if I'm reviewing the location by the royal mile or not as there was only one on Yelp but solid place! We ordered two pizzas and a mushroom appetizer as well as a beer and a cider. The pizza was loaded with pepperoni and the margarita one was very cheesy. The mushroom app was nothing like I've had before and the focaccia it came with was hot and fluffy and full of garlic flavor. Highly recommend this quaint place with good service.

MY RATING: 3.5 Civerinos has a fun atmosphere and delicious pizza! It's also conveniently located right off the Royal Mile. I took half of a point off because that mac'n'cheese was disappointing. They have a few other vegan items on the menu that I would love to try next time I'm in town! *everything I ordered *VEGAN MAC'N'CHEESE - creamy oat milk, vegan cheddar, dijon mustard sauce, parsley. The pasta was cooked to a good consistency. The sauce was creamy. However, it was on the bland side. It needed more salt, more mustard, more something. *DAY TRIPPIN - vegan cheese, wild mushrooms, truffle oil and parsley. The server placed the pizza on my table, and I instantly inhaled that heavenly truffle scent. The mushrooms were cooked so well that they melted in my mouth like butter. The pizza was bubbly and crunchy, but still soft and slightly chewy. Which is just how I like it! The portion was big! The mixture of cheese and oil made a creamy consistency. Overall, this pizza was scrumptious! My only suggestion is more truffle oil. To be honest, I don't know if there's never enough truffle oil for me. EXTRA: Reminded me of a cool retro diner Fun vibes and decor Great place for a date Colored lighting Booth seats Watch me visit Civerinos and eat amazing vegan food all over Edinburgh on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw-0mh0q3iM&t=1s

The Civerino's! Note the delicious helping of burrata.

Civerinos - a solid place to get an oversized slice of creative pizza in a casual, cool atmosphere, much hyped among Uni students. This is a great pizza place! Wait staff is super nice, pizza is great, and it's a good vibe. I'm not sure if it's up to all the hype that I've heard about it, but it's very good! Have gone here once for slices, and also gotten delivery. First off - they have vegan pizza!! Awesome. My vegan friend had a slice and liked it. I tried the Civerinos - a delicious pepperoni/burrata rendition, as well as the Veggie As - a sweeter beet + chevre + rocket with a drizzle of balsamic - which I liked just as much as the civerinos. Put together with a beer (wish they had more selection!) and it made for a great meal. Definitely will be back.

Always a go-to when visiting Edinburgh! Went straight for Civerinos after our 8 hour flight--sleep deprived but pizza comes first! We tried the Detroit slices with a side of the Parmesan Truffle Fries. Both were amazing--the slices had a good crisp to them and the honey chili drizzle on top makes it! Staff was super friendly and the atmosphere is laid back! Highly recommend giving it a try.

This place rules! Arrived to Edinburgh late and felt discouraged by the late night food options... Civerinos to the rescue! Great pizza, great staff, great ambiance, great branding, great playlist. Get it!!!!

NYC style pizza in Scotland! Very hipster place with a young crowd. You can order slices of pizza or a whole pie. The whole pie is huge and can serve about 3 very hungry people. We got the Civerinos whole pie and it was delicious. Crust was the right thickness, just enough sauce and cheese, and the toppings were great. Comes with Parmesan and chili flakes if you ask. We also ordered beers which accompanied the pizza well.

He made great wine recommendations and treated us very well. This restaurant has a certain hustle and bustle of a busy Italian restaurant, but still captures the intimate feeling of closeness with their seating area. We decided to start with Focaccia and it wasn't disappointing! It had a crisp exterior with a nice, fluffy interior. The Focaccia had just the right amount of oil and salt to make it the perfect starter. Despite having a delicious line-up of pasta, I just had to go with the pizza. Once again, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The pizza had some of the most delicious sauce I've had in a while. The cheese was perfectly melted and the crust featured a similar structure to the Focaccia. What really set the pizza apart was the chili oil our waiter drizzled on top. I'm so glad I took him up on his offer because it added a pleasant spicy kick to the pizza. I was also able to sample my wife's vegan pizza. She also decided to go with the chili oil and her pizza was some of the best vegan pizza we've experienced together. It was packed with delicious vegetables and the mozzarella vegan cheese wasn't too heavily applied, nor did it give the extra gooey mouth feel that vegan cheese often has. Combined with the chili oil, it was a wonderful experience. I'm so glad we made it out to Vittoria.

I was happy to find an Italian restaurant in Scotland since I was looking for some comfort food. The interior has lots of seating space in separate little rooms. It's all one connected space, but there are separators and barriers around the sections, if that makes sense. There's seating for larger and smaller groups, and I was immediately seated at a table by myself. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the arancini and seasonal risotto. I told you, I wanted CARBS. The arancini was gooey and cheesy and fantastic and came with a spicy tomato salsa. The perfect appetizer. The risotto was divine! It came in a parmesan cheese crisp bowl and had a parm cheese base, pears mixed in, and balsamic vinegar drizzled on top with some arugula. Everything came together for one delicious, decadent meal. The portion was also huge and I had plenty left over for another meal. My server and I talked about cats and I instantly felt welcomed in Edinburgh and at La Favorita. If you like Italian food, I definitely recommend hitting them up!

Not least because the twinkly-eyed waiter called me "young lady" - this kind of complimentary talk earns anyone an instant tip as far as I'm concerned. This eatery is the kind of classic, traditional Italian experience which has to produce at least a smile from visitors, even if you've had the worst day at work ever/been dumped/dropped your favourite ornament/are a generally grumpy individual. I opted for the Risotto Imperiale, a tasty, well presented, affair, which came with jumbo, juicy prawns and a langoustine with one claw perched on top of a generous portion of rice and champagne sauce. My very critical fellow diner, definitely a pizza enthusiast, went for the Pizza ai due Salami, which after a few minutes of careful munching he announced was "very good", definitely high praise for him, before continuing to devour the rest of his meal, (only offering me a small slither). La Favorita has a pretty extensive menu, with all the dishes on offer you would expect from an Italian restaurant, so if you've got a craving for decent pasta and pizza somewhere different, where you're not paying over the odds, take a wander away from the centre of town and get down to Leith Walk.
