Love their massaman curry, just hate that they have been closed for so long. Time to find a new Thai restaurant.

Ate at Asian Potato with some friends last week. The food was good -- I had the green pineapple Thai curry, which was a nice combo of spices but wasn't overly spicy, and it was a relatively quiet restaurant, so it was nice to be able to have a conversation with friends at a normal volume. My complaint is that from start to finish, I didn't get any drink (and all I asked for was water) with my meal -- when everyone had their drinks already, I requested a glass of water. The server returned and said they were all out of glasses, and asked if a cup would work. I said yes, but she never brought out a cup of water. Our group was in the restaurant for 90 minutes, with only one other table being waited on, but I still couldn't get a glass of water delivered. Disappointing. read more

The food NEVER disappoints. General Tao's in my personal favorite. It's got the right amount of spice and they come in smaller bite sizes which I prefer. Their cream cheese wantons aren't too greasy and the sweet and sour sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. Their curry is so flavorful and they give you plenty of rice. I haven't ever eaten inside, only done take out but ordering is easy and they are quick. Also, they forgot to give us the general Tao's but they delivered it to us instead of making us drive back! Stayed in Salt Lake City (South Jordan) recently and Asian Potato was recommended by the bartender at our hotel. The food there is REALLY good! We had edamame and crab wontons to start and then a curry noodle dish and General Tso's Chicken. My only dig on the experience was that they didn't serve alcohol but the green tea we had was pretty good. Not enough of a gripe to dock any stars. All in all, it was a solid experience! Ha! I read another review that said the pad Thai tastes like ketchup and it really does. Also, if you get takeout, it's served with a spork which makes eating nearly impossible. Those micro-tines won't pick up heavy, long, intertwined noodles. read more

The Orange Chicken is the best I've ever had. It's my go to when I hit this awesome restaurant.

I have heard about this restaurant all over town so I had high hopes. We got in and seated fast. Our server was super nice and seemed to be working a lot of tables. Put our order in after a few minutes. Food came in normal time so no real concern. There were at least 5 or 6 other tables there, but food was coming out steady. Egg Drop Soup: was very good and tasted like expected. Appreciated the small pieces of corn. Very thick. Wontons: very good and great sauce. They were a treat for sure. Cashew Chicken: I was excited because it looked so fresh when it came out. But the. I started to eating and realized they everything was barely cooked. Maybe thrown in a pan for 1 minute to heat it up. The pepper in my dish was just like cutting up a pepper in the garden and taking a bite. Seriously it was like it had never been in a pan. Nothing looked to be grilled in a pan at all. It was very hard to eat. Same with the cashews. They literally were like straight out of a container. This was so off putting. They were not packed so there was no reason why it should have been rushed. The Pad Thai was just gross in that it tasted like it had too much ketchup and the peanuts were while instead of crushed. Something about the sauce was off. It really ruined the dish. I was not able to finish it. I was hungry and ate a lot of the Cashew Chicken, but it was dinner and I had to eat. I will not be coming back here and no to-go boxes were needed. This place is a hard pass from me unless something major changes. read more

One of my favorite places to get Chinese food. I've been here several times. The only thing I haven't liked is that I found out after getting my tea that they didn't have sweet n low which is fine, but I also wasn't offered sugar or something else. They just walked away after saying they didn't have any. I think if you're going to serve tea, you should have at least one option people who want it sweetened can put in. read more

This place is a hidden gem! You can't go wrong with take-out after a busy day, and for my partner and I, this has become a go-to! We also like to dine in, since there is rarely ever a wait and the service is lovely. The hostess we usually see there is so kind! If you like a lively and busy dining experience, you may not love dining in here since I think they mainly do take-out orders, but I enjoy the peaceful environment! My partner is picky, especially about chicken, and loves their crispy spicy chicken! I'm vegetarian so I enjoy all of the non-meat options. Their menu is pretty extensive, but some of my favorites have been the fried sweet potato and tofu lettuce wraps (they're an appetizer I get as an entree sometimes.) Definitely recommend going here or getting take-out from here! read more

Best Chinese food I've had in Utah and I've tried at least 10 places. The gyoza dough is chewy and meat and sauce flavorful. The cream cheese wonton breading is thin and perfectly fried. The edamame wasn't cooked enough sadly but seasoned nicely. The crispy spicy chicken was YUM. White meat and fresh. This doesn't taste like frozen Chinese food. The sweet and sour chicken comes with the sauce on it. I want to try all of the dishes but ask for the sauce on the side. Next up will be sesame chicken. read more

I ordered the Pad Thai from Asian Potato and it was so delicious and a HUGE portion! I ended up getting three meals out of it. The dish was flavor-packed and topped with peanuts and bean sprouts. I would definitely order the pad thai again. We also got an order of the Pineapple Curry with Chicken and that was delicious, as well! There wasn't enough rice for leftovers, but we made our own rice and it warmed up well! read more

The chicken fried rice is amazing. The panang chicken lo mein is soooo tasty. The fried sweet potatoes were also nice... C'est la vie!

Food was beautifully prepared and the vegetables were the hallmark of many dishes. Nice presentation and excellent service. Each dish would easily serve two or more people. An excellent "couples" or family restaurant. Reasonably priced dishes all. I've eaten walnut shrimp in New York's Chinatown and this compared quite favorably. We LOVE Asian potato. My family and I have been coming here for years and every time the food is tasty, the service is amazing, and it is overall such a great experience. The food comes out quickly and when you order takeout you can expect no wait to a short wait. We recommend this restaurant one hundred percent. Placed a large order for a family party, the General Tos and Sesame chicken portions barely covered the bottom of the container about a cup of meat. We have ordered this before and we were clearly shorted, there was not enough to feed my guests. I called to let them know I was not happy with the portion size and said we had been shorted, because we have ordered this several times in the past and the portion was 3 times the size. She said the portions aren't always the same every time, and it's only intended to feed 1 or 2 people. There was no I'm sorry, let me fix that for you. Clearly bad customer service. I asked if she had my number, I expected a call back from someone who was going to make this right, but never received a call. Asian Potato's Chicken Pad Thai does not rise to the level of edible. When it arrived to the table it had an unusual smell: overcooked corn syrup? I took one bite and realized the mistake. Not really a Pad Thai, more of a 1970's Chinese Hole-in-the-Wall imitation of what Pad Thai Paid might taste like if you used too much corn syrup and tapioca starch. In my never-ending search for great Asian food, my son told me about Asian Potato. They have both Thai and Chinese Food and an extensive menu. The staff is Thai and a big family who prides itself on having fresh delicious food. I had Yellow Curry Lo Mein with Vegetables and Thai Fried Rice. The portions are huge too. I loved both of these dishes and I'm anxious to go back and try some Chinese Food. They close between 230pm and 430pm so remember that and are busy on the weekends but it was great to find this place and so close to home read more

Went here for a quick bite while getting my vehicle maintenance done. I ordered the spare ribs and the Happy Family plate. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of the food served me. The presentation was exceptional and the flavors were well balanced. I'm not ordering from there again. Too many bad experiences. The last one they took my order, said 20 minutes for curbside, call if we don't see you. I got there 25 minutes later. Waited two then called. I was told they are waiting on a couple more items it will be right out. They come out with the food double the time I was told and offer nothing other than I am sorry we got slammed. I said I was sitting right here. You were not slammed. She said our cook left for Taiwan. I said I am sorry to hear that. I had to wait double the time I was told and as a peace offering your boss should comp some portion of my $80 order. The lady went and spoke to the manager and came back and told me he would call me later as they are busy. Guess who never called? So I guess no one knew how to cook but the cook that left. I got an order of sweet and sour sauce with a ton of garlic and a sprinkle of pepper flakes for the orders of generals we had. Those went in the garbage. The one the family likes best was soggy. It was take out so we expected sogginess but not to the extent we had. The noodles were over cooked and flavorless. The chicken in the fried rice was inedible. We came around lunch time on a weekday and the place was empty. We were seated immediately. We were hoping to get one of the Thai noodle dishes vegetarian but apparently all the curries and most of the noodles are made with fish sauce. So vegans/vegetarians make sure you ask, even for the dishes that are marked vegetarian. We ended up ordering the sweet and sour tofu and the eggplant in garlic sauce. Both were amazing. The tofu was fried - crispy on the outside soft on the inside. The sauce was alarmingly bright red in color... but tasted great so whatever. The eggplant was cooked sooo perfectly. I've seen this dish made terribly before so l was beyond happy when it tasted as good as is did. Would highly recommend. Service was attentive. Decor was pretty standard. Went in on a lark. Place has an interesting name.... And they offer Thai curry when most places are closed. Gotta say, expectations are low when you're in Utah and the place sounds like it serves generic "Asian food". Really solid curry. Not as spicy as I like, but I'm the type to dump 4 tablespoons of Thai chili powder into my curry, so can't really blame them for my being an outlier. The apps we got were also good. I don't think most people will be "wowed", but it's a very solid local restaurant. Definitely going back. read more

I love Panang Curry and I also love Lo Mein especially when they use the thinner noodles like Sampan used to. So when I saw Panang Curry Lo Mein on the menu I was intrigued. Menu says "Noodles stir-fried with Thai Curry" but what I was served was just Thai Curry with noodles added to it. At no point was any of this dish stir-fried and in no way anything like Lo Mein.
