The Workout

Got lucky and came here when there was a $10 deal for The Workout box. Thought this was a solid price for the food portions, but at normal price of $15.50 it feels a bit pricy. I liked the five spice chicken and pickled veggies, but thought the tamarind and spicy sauces were tad too sweet for my liking (just personal preference). Our server was extremely kind and friendly when taking our order and helped us understand the menu options. There's a small amount of seating available inside, as well as some outdoor spaces throughout the Pruneyard.

No Jalapeños means NO JALAPEÑOS!!

AI, RUDENESS & DISRESPECTFUL SERVICE and HALF BROWN & HALF WHITE RICE COOKED TOGETHER HAVE TAKEN OVER AT THIS POPULAR LOCATION that I have been going to for years! Instead of an actual person taking time to take your order, two (2) Autobots input your order. The gal with the highly visible neck tattoos who's too busy behind the counter making cookies to help you, then sighs loudly & audibly when you ask her a question about said Autobot who is quick to replace her job. HER TONE RUDE AND DEMEANING then shuffles over & argues rudely said autobot fails to accept my order. I ordered my food with NO JALAPEÑOS though there they were!

One of my favorite take Asian take out place. I got bah mi with salmon and workout today. Normally I get shrimps bah mi but the salmon was so much better. It was too good I forgot to take pictures. Chicken workout was good too. I think chicken used to be cubed but this time it was sliced too thin. Still the flavor of chicken was good. Wire time was about 10 minutes but I ordered online so I didn't have to wait too long to pick it up at the store. It can be pretty busy during the lunch time so recommend to order before hand.

Created my own salad with chicken and steak with the works minus the peanuts and dressed it with the tamarind dressing. The steak was cooked very well it was nice and tender l and the chicken reminded me of chicken pho. Loved the textures from all the veggies and jalapeños provided crunch and spice. Also had a Thai tea that was pretty good very sweet and creamy. Service was fast and helpful. The location is small but the inside is nice and clean and there is area outside to eat as well.

Asian box has different locations this is the one at the Pruneyard. I like the deal that you get 4 boxes, 4 spring rolls and 4 cookies for around $56 with tax. You can also sub salad for rice to be extra healthy. The chicken is really good you can tell it's grilled. I've also gotten catering at my work and that's good too. This location has lots of parking and not much wait. The staff were very nice. Forgot to take a picture before I started eating but I always have a lot of leftovers because it's good portions of chicken or pork.

We ordered via Door Dash so service and ambiance were not a thing. We ordered a Workout Box, build your own with steak and a shrimp spring roll. The boxes were good, but the shrimp spring roll was honestly a joke. For $6.45 for one shrimp spring roll they only served two shrimp that were sliced in half to make it look like there were four shrimp.

Whoever is in charge of their menu should really rethink their profession. I get that you want to keep the menu fresh so you re-utilize several ingredients. But whoever thought of sandwiching cubed steak within a hard stale baguette and calling it a banh mi needs to get off the couch and do some actual research. I'm not calling for a superior banh mi from a fast casual restaurant but someone needs to do better instead of slapping "banh mi" on this disaster and calling it a day. I've had their box entrees plenty of times: it's fast, it's fresh. It's not for all occasions but when it calls for it, the box entrees can quickly hit the spot. I was going on a picnic so I wanted something handy which led me to discovering Asian Box offers a banh mi. It takes a lot to get a banh mi wrong. It usually consists of a lot of components so if one thing goes wrong, there's a lot of redeeming qualities of the other ingredients. I haven't written a review in years but I just had to after eating this absolute culinary disappointment. The cubed meat is from their entrees but it was SLATHERED with mayo. It sounds like it may be just a matter of personal preference but the bread was absolutely rock hard. The crust felt like I could hammer something with it and the bread texture was akin to a dense foam. Now I'm wondering if the team had to use that amount of mayo to counter-act the harshness of the bread. Furthermore, there were little to no fixings. Where is the veg? Where is the refreshing and crunchy veggies?! This is just a cubed meat sandwich. Did I mention disappointing? I just can't believe it. It's inevitable that prices are getting higher and places are trying to take some shortcuts to keep prices low. But wtf Asian Box, your prices are still relatively high and you're taking some super shortcut and serving up garbage like this.

Double chicken build your own box with Jasmine rice.

Ive eaten at several locations and this is easily the most consistent. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's DELICIOUS and always full of fresh flavor and unique flavor. I default to the double chicken box with hot box it and sriracha sauce. My chicken and rice go to in Campbell.

Chef's Salad with steak, Miss Jones, two kids meal

I placed an online order and received a text when it was ready. I got the 2 box family with cookies: Chef's salad with steak, Miss Jones with lemongrass pork, two kids meals salad and noodle, chocolate chip cookies and two apple juices. The portions were decent for all. Good amount of vegetables which is what I wanted. The steak was medium and cut thinly. I wasn't a fan of the kid's meal sauce, the Chef's salad sauce was also a bit salty. The rice noodles were also cooked well, it wasn't sticky or gummy and still retained its chewiness. The chocolate chip cookies were thin but surprisingly chewy. I think their 2 box family is great for meal preps. Their website asked if utensils were needed for each of the items ordered but I received none. The inside of the restaurant is small and the staff didn't acknowledge me. I found the wall of online/mobile orders and grabbed my stuff.

Service was great! Food was yummmmmmm! We took the garden box and the Vietnamese hot chicken box. Both were very filling & flavorful. Hole in the wall kind of street food restaurant ambience, decent pricing for the serving sizes. Shawn was a wonderful host! Thanks.

I was curious with this restaurant because they serve meals mixed with Asian ingredients. You can order signature meals or customize your meal. Usually I order a signature one since it's my first time here. I didn't want to dine here because traffic will get heavy later on when trying to go back home. I wanted to use cash to pay for my food, but they don't have dollar bills anymore. Kinda disappointed in that, and it goes to show that contactless payments are relevant and that we are diving in an era of technology. The food is tasty though. However, it's quite overpriced given how small the portion sizes are. I am a fan of normal-sized meals since they contain less calories, but kinda tune the price down.

If you're looking for great customer service when dining, head over to Asian box and meet Sean. I was instantly greeted with a warm and friendly face upon my arrival. Sun was very kind and professional and made me feel welcome at this restaurant. I ordered the Vietnam Surf and it came out very quickly. This restaurant is very clean and there's plenty of room to sit inside or outside. There are great options on the menu, especially the creator your own box which I find really impressive. I really appreciate great customer service especially from people like Sean and that alone really made my day. Thank you very much!

I was on a father/daughter date night to catch the San Jose Symphony and my daughter recommended the Asian Box for dinner before we hit up the performance. This establishment is one of her favorite places to eat. Wow! The Asian Box didn't disappoint me. My daughter had the curry chicken and I had the Vietnamese hot chicken. We sample one another's plate and both were delicious. The person who took our orders warned me that the Vietnamese hot chicken is very spicy and yes it was! Fortunately I have the genes for spicy food. I bookmarked this establishment for future visits the next time I'm in Campbell.

Direction and Quality…read more My spouse are I have been loyally supporting OCK for 7 years. We've met a lot of great employees (Camilla, Nathan, Obe, MiMi, and many more). We even met Stout and his spouse in Napa. Flavor and creativity was strong and somehow, the magic disappeared after Anothony Bourdain cocktail menu. Mind you, we religiously supported weekly and sometimes twice in the week. The second to last experience (today) was ordering an old fashion, simple to make but takes practice to perfect a great tasting one. Mine came with 6 cubes of unbroken ice that was simply thrown together. This prevented us from returning for months. Today, we had the most disrespectful loco moco ever. A bland tasting porridge looking dish. Opposite from what it tasted before, earthy and smokey tones, seasoned patty, fluffy rice, and kimchi. Today, the rice was cooked with the bland gravy, rice mushy, and mushroom appeared to be added into the gravy as an after thought. Disrespectful to the Aina where loco moco was created. The aged salmon was another let down. Very light tasting citrus and salmon that appeared to be unseasoned and just seared and plated. Today, we bid farewell to OCK as our loyalty cannot be continued. Cocktails and food have slipped beyond immeasurable bounds.

Their daily HH, aka Aloha Hour, offers one of the best values I've seen in years. We're taking $9 cocktails, $10 ceviche, and $7 tacos. Their recently renovated dining area is bright, inviting, and comfortable. And all of the staff who worked on 3/20 were an absolute delight. Ordered fish tacos with salsa on the side but actual order came with fish on top of the salsa and slaw. Disappointed but didn't comment about that since I didn't notice until I'd already taken a bite of each taco. Wished it had been served on the side as it made the tacos soggy and a little spicier than I would have liked. Fried Baja fish tacos had batter similar to fish and chips batter. Wished it was a lighter batter to make it easier on the stomach. It was hard to eat the corn tortilla on both tacos because the salsa was on the bottom of the fish versus being on top of the fish. Accompanying salad was dressed just right with the vinaigrette I requested. Black beans were nicely seasoned. Ordered a nojito which was not very flavorful. Thought it would be mintier, citrusy mocktail but honestly it just tasted like ginger ale with two quartered limes and sprigs of mint. Not worth the $6 I paid for it. Very disappointing.. Would have been better off saving that money spent to buy a pint of ice cream from a local retailer. Don't think I'll go out of my way to return unless I'm sure that my order will be more aligned to my order and if I'm in the neighborhood..

Originally when they opened, the menu online looked tailored more towards brunch, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Turned out, there were a lot of menu options that fit into HH. Quite a few beverage options, as well, that are lightly discounted 3:30- 5:30pm. We enjoyed the HH menu Sparkling Rose ($12) and the HH ahi tartare served with wonton chips. The Rose was nice, and the ahi was pretty good, but nothing noteworthy. There have been so many restaurants in that location over the last 25 years, starting back at the Chart House, so I suspect a really perfect dining experience might be required to stay around long term. On our latest visit we were sitting outside when it started raining. We walked inside and asked to move in since we had already ordered our food. At 9:30 a.m. there were only two other customers inside and plenty of open tables. The person who greeted us said, "Hmm, well I'm not sure... we have a big party coming at 11:30." I looked at my watch and replied, "That's two hours from now and there are lots of tables open right now." We got seated, our food arrived, and then it started raining harder. Instead of quietly moving out the couches to add additional tables and chairs, the staff dragged them all across the floor, creating loud scraping noises the entire time. It made for a really unpleasant dining experience. We asked for a little more coffee, but it never came. We even flagged down our server and she just stared at us blankly as if we had never asked. We eventually just got up and left. The food was good, but it doesn't make up for the terrible service and rude treatment.

Although the focus is take out, you can certainly enjoy a meal at the restaurant. It is primarily you order, pay, sit down and the food is brought to you.
