    Pad See Ew
    Joanna F.

Honestly....not my favorite. I do love the inside of the restaurant and the service staff was super nice but just pretty mid. The green curry was good but too thin for me and not a very large serving for the price. The pad see ew was good because how can you go wrong w it, but I don't know also just slightly less saucy than I like! Not to saw pad see ew is a generally saucy dish but I don't know it needed more flavoring, and the beef was overdone for me but my friend liked it!

This restaurant is one of my top 3 favorite Thai restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Everything I've tried is delicious. My favorite new thing I tried this time is the spicy catfish. The chili sauce from this dish is to die for- and a crowd favorite from my foodie siblings. Other honorable mentions are the golden duck curry that I forgot to picture. But everything I've tried is good. 10/10 recommend. I always try to come here when I come to San Jose. Service is always great. And it's always nice and homey and clean.

Food was tasty and service was friendly and kind. My friend and I both got the pad Thai. It had the right balance of flavor, came out quickly, and was certainly a portion we could have shared. Our server was really attentive and helpful. He also asked if I wanted to add spice on the side and I did! It came with jalapeño pickles, some Thai spice packet, and a sauce. It was perfect :) So thanks Thai Orchid. I'll be back.

Filthy area of dirty towels in laundry baskets Mop bucket, soybean oil boxes, empty egg crates trash boxes

back parking lot where you enter from the side is full of garbage, dirty laundry, rags empty egg crates boxes of soybean oil stacked up. Brooms mop bucket disgusting. interior of restaurant is very shabby and rundown needs painting. Everything looks dingy. It is not a clean restaurant. Therefore who cares how good the food is.

Such a cute little spot in a great area! Amongst a busy area, this place managed to settle in a quiet little spot off of Campbell/Bascom, right across from the Pruneyard. Just opening when we got there so there was plenty of seating as we were the only ones for dine-in. Very Home-y inside and comfortable. We ordered Vegan pad see ew 10/10 honestly one of the best pad see ew's we've ever had! Great portion size for price and thickness of noodles was perfect!!! Would order again! Yellow curry 10/10 only feedback is that we wish we had more!! Perfect potato texture and the side of rice was a healthy portion for $4. We are excited to try more things on their menu!

This little Thai restaurant has been around for a long time, I've been visiting since the 90s when I first came to the Bay area. It has a great selection of Thai food and the setting is very traditional and comfortable. I had a delicious Seafood Pad See Ew along with a Thai Iced Tea. The service was very nice even though I came just as the restaurant was closing.

The food was good, portion sizes were great. I wish the dishes were priced a little lesser even if that meant cutting the portion size a bit. We had the house fried rice with fried tofu, drunken noodles with vegetable and a side of fried egg. My feedback is that there should be more veggies on the dishes and also $4 for a tiny fried egg is too expensive. The service was really great, the waiters were very sweet guys. The ambience was very dark for my liking.

My family came in on a weekday around 6. We waited around 5 minutes. We ordered the tom yum soup, pineapple fried rice, and the pad see ew. Everything was delicious and flavorful. The tom yum was very aromatic. The fried rice was nice and wasn't dry at all. The noodles were nice and soft and flavorful too. Service was nice and friendly. They were quick with taking our order and bringing the food out. The seating was interesting. There were two rooms? separated by curtains? The restaurant is definitely on the smaller side but that didn't bother me at all.

Quite a lovely Thai spot just next to the Pruneyard. The vibes are nice; it's a restaurant transformed from a home with lovely decor. I ordered the spicy catfish and my partner ordered the Lad Na. Sauce was a bit watery and flavor was just ok for the Lad Na. Flavor profile and fish were well cooked for the catfish but felt it was still missing an element to take it up a notch. Excellent service. I probably wouldn't come back for the Thai food specifically but overall a nice spot.

The menu is laid out by geographic regions, which I thought was a really neat way to showcase the many different cuisines. We started with summer rolls and calamari, both of which were excellent. The summer rolls were fresh and bright, with a delicious peanut sauce that was among the best my sister (a self-described "Peanut Sauce Snob") and I had ever had. The large pieces of calamari were expertly cooked, still very tender even after frying. There was a hint of spice in the calamari dipping sauce that I quite enjoyed. For entrees, we got Pad Thai, Pad See You, and Panang Curry -- all favorites we've had many places (despite the many alluring new-to-me options, I admit we all defaulted to known quantities) -- and we were impressed across the board. Everything was flavorful, had just the right amount of spice, and came out steaming hot. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of this restaurant, which felt lively and friendly. It was very busy, with a line out the door by the time we left, so reservations are a good idea!

The Laab Chicken Wings were truly the star of my meal. The savory, tangy, salty, limey flavors were dancing on my tongue. The wings also reminded me of tom yum and I never had a dry rub wing taste that good before. It's such a unique flavor. The meat was also tender as well. I also tried other dishes: Old Style Pad Thai (loved the crunchy pork grinds), Panang Curry with Roti, and some beef plate my partner got. Overall, we enjoyed these items and rate them 4/5 stars. Ingredients were fresh and cooked well. I only had a few nitpicks, like the roti was more doughy instead of flakey. Additionally, the pad thai did not come with lemon, so it felt like something was missing from the dish. However, I was able to ask for chili sauce which enhanced the pad thai. This restaurant is located in Willow Glen area and it is a tiny place! I would not recommend large parties here. It seems they receive many take out orders because of the small dining space. Our meal consisted of: Beef Pad See Ew [medium] Squid Pad See Ew [medium] Chicken Pad Thai [mild] Chicken Yellow Curry [mild] Shrimp Fresh Rolls Chicken Pan Fried Dumplings Sticky Rice Jasmine Rice + Drinks Food was good. Everyone pretty much enjoyed their meals. I must say the spice level at a typical Thai restaurant doesn't exactly compare with Thaibodia's. Medium spice is usually the perfect amount of heat for me to enjoy comfortably and I felt like I would have enjoyed "hot" better according to their levels. I also got catfished with the dumplings- the sauce drenched on top resembled buldak but ended up being quite sweet. 4 stars overall. I wouldn't hesitate making a return visit.
