I really enjoyed my meal at Thai orchid! I ordered the Panang curry and it was delicious with white rice and wasn't too spicy for a medium. I also ordered the baby corn with fried tofu, I would opt to go with soft tofu next time since the tofu felt a little too oily but dipped in the curry or the spicy sauce we got, the tofu absorbed the liquid really well. As for ambiance, this place is great for a date night or a special occasion with a close group of friends. Yummmy thai food in Campbell. There's a few thai restaurants in Campbell but this is the best and my favorite in the area :) I have gotten take out from here and eaten here a few times. The food is delicious and the spice level is always on point. I love that when I order medium or hot, it's the perfect spice level. I usually order the eggplant with pork and one of the curry. I have tried the duck curry (yum!). If you're looking for a basic curry, I recommend the yellow or green curry. I like to order a side of rice and it goes perfect with the curry and eggplant. Interior is a little small but it looks like most people order to-go. I also love how they have a fireplace. I'm glad the fireplace was turned on the last time I came because it kept me warm while waiting for a table. Service is quick, friendly staff, and there's also a parking lot in the back. That had amazing taste. The spicy chicken was good but not great as I felt the chicken was too dry. I ordered medium spicy but that was under the spice level at other Thai venues. We went for a late lunch on a Tuesday around 1pm and it was empty with just 1 table occupied. The waiter who seated us was very friendly and punctual in bringing out the menu/water/food. Their AC was down and it was a very hot day, but luckily their restaurant is adjacent to a building that provides great shade. It felt cool enough inside which was a relief since I do not enjoy eating in a hot room. We ordered a shrimp Pad Thai and yellow curry. Both were quite delicious! They don't have any dessert offerings so that was a bummer. Their windows also could use a cleaning from the outside. It's unappetizing looking at gross spots on the window pane. I feel that also raised our expectations about the food. We ordered some veggie rolls, red curry, basil fried rice, and pad kee Mao. I thought their basil fried rice was awesome, it had some flavor of curry spices too. Similarly their drunken noodles were good too, but the flavor seemed to be dull and hence I was a bit skeptic about this. Just came from here to enjoy an early dinner with a few friends. It is nice because a lot of Asian restaurants do not open till 5 or 5:30, on most days this place opens at 4:30. It is based out of an older house so when you walk in, it is pretty homey. They made each part of the house a dining area. It is very quaint and the service was good. We sat next to the fireplace and ordered the eggplant with bell peppers with soy sauce, red beef curry, crispy tofu and spicy shrimp. Prices varied from 15 to 18 dollars depending on the dish. I preferred the shrimp over the beef for it was a bit well done but everything was nice and hot coming from the sizzling wok. Being across the street from the Pruneyard mall it is a small but humble place to try thai food for dinner. Service was excellent.
