I've been here multiple times and always enjoyed my food. Usually I'll get the miss jones or the chicken curry, both of which are delicious. I wanted to try something new this time so I got the miss jones but with salmon. The salmon substitute was an extra $2 so it came out to be a bit expensive but oh well. The salmon was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. It had a nice crisp and flavor on the outside and the inside was tender. Probably some of the best salmon I've had to be honest. This place exceeded my expectations. It's pretty healthy and tasty. I got the miss jones, which had a great balance of protein, carbs, and fiber. I really liked the pork which was slightly sweet and the surface was lightly burnt and had a great texture. The chilled noodles were chewy. I also liked the pickled veggies a lot. This is a really nice Asian Box location. Asian box is great, I think some people get overwhelmed with options, but just try something. It is all fresh and delicious and reasonably priced for the high quality ingredients. I usually get their create your own option with chilled rice noodles, 5 spice chicken, Asian dust, and lots of their amazing peanut sauce and then I mix it all together. It's just so yummy, with unami, and sweetness, and it's not spicy (although they probably have spicy too). This place is such a gem. I can get in and out of here in like 1 min so I often order ahead and grab it on my way through the bay. But they have a nice outdoor area for eating too. It's not everywhere you can get delicious Vietnamese or Asian food that is just so refreshing and perfect for lunch. I would eat it every day if I could. We stopped in on a whim and ordered custom chicken and tofu boxes. The service was excellent, and they brought our order out to us so we didn't have to wait inside which I really appreciate. The food and portions were really good. Chicken is not over seasoned, and is still moist, and the tofu was good as well. The peanut sauce was meh. OMG, 80% of box is rice. I didn't like any of the flavors, peanut and coconut. I would rather go to Chipotle any day compared to Asian box. Their sauces are not adding any value either, and 5$ more. I dont mind spending extra, if there is quailty and health benefits. They should offer sauted vegetables. They are in good location, there were no-lines, service is quicker. Came here with a few friends. We haven't really been to the area, so we thought Asian Box sounded good. They have signature boxes and you can also make your own. The inside of the restaurant is super hot. It made me suspicious about the quality of the food being served, as the kitchen is open to the dining area. We decided to eat outside because of this. I ordered a tofu box. I recommend getting lots of sauce because it was super bland. One thing I found disappointing was that a shrimp had snuck into my box! Now I'm not completely vegetarian but I am transitioning. For those of you who have been vegetarian for awhile or are allergic to shrimp, keep this in mind! I know it would be disappointing to realize you had consumed an animal because of someone else's carelessness of preparing your meal. This was super overpriced for the quality of the food. This is one of my go to spots to get something quick, delicious, and pretty healthy. I normally get a build your own box with a salad base, tofu, and all the toppings except the oil and peanuts. They give you a pretty big portion and the price is very reasonable. They have a ton of different options and combinations to choose from, so you'll never be lacking in variety. It's located in the Pruneyard, so while there is parking everywhere, it can still be difficult to find a spot sometimes. Right now with COVID, finding a spot isn't an issue at all though. Their service is amazing! Amazing! Sometimes I'm very picky with my order... (no dressing on the salad base, curry on the side instead of on top of the tofu, etc etc). I ordered: The Garden Box - Extra Organic Tofu, Extra Coconut Curry and Steamed Veggies. Brown Rice, All Toppers {No Jalapeños} and Asian Street Dust™ We also ordered shrimp spring rolls to share. The portions were a lot bigger than I expected! We both had trouble finishing our bowls. Everything tasted great and fresh. Overall, the food here is good but, honestly, the price you pay for it is kind of ridiculous. I live down the street and, the only time, I do come here is if they offer some sort of deal/deep discount. My normal rating for this place would be 3 stars but my last experience was terrible (hence why everybody's hearing about it). My last experience went as follows, ordered the sandwich and walked around and waited for a few minutes. After a couple of orders that were placed AFTER me were called, I inquired if my order was ready. Not yet. Shortly after, the guy behind counter asked for my order number (which I just inquired about). I watch as he re-printed a receipt and placed it in the back, didn't think much of it then but in hindsight it was clear something we amiss. I waited a few more minutes and noticed a couple of sandwiches were made but the person prepping the order(s) was also manning the cash register so, 5 people walk in and he proceeds to take all the orders while full prepped food was piling up behind the counter that just needs to be packaged. Mind you, there was about 4-5 people waiting for orders before the other ~5 people had placed their order). After about 20 minutes after ordering and when it was clear the cashier was planning on taking all orders before addressing the pile of ready to go orders, I interrupted the guy mid order to ask about my food. I noticed there are 2 sandwiches ready to go and all I have is one sandwich. The cashier tells me, "your order is coming right up" and points to the line where food is being prepped (again, there's already food ready to go including a couple of already wrapped sandwiches. Finally, somebody else decided to help the guy and, again, instead of grabbing a sandwich that was has been sitting there for 5-7 minutes now, he wraps the one the line cook just finished (again, I placed an order 20 minutes ago and a few people got their orders placed and received food after mine). Yes, mistakes happen but to top it off, the sandwich was, somehow soggy and the vegetables were on it were wilted. If my sandwich was like that, imagine the other sandwiches that were sitting around for 5-10 minutes. Idk if they were short staffed or if somebody was on break if so, this place was clearly mis-managed as this was still during the lunch hour. I honestly felt like I could've gone down to OCK and gotten a meal within the same amount of time as it took to prepare an overpriced sandwich. read more

Chipotle-style Viet food. Concept is cool and the options are pretty good. My go-to is to build my own bowl- I get chilled noodles, steak, herbs, peanuts, pickled veggies, and add an egg. For sauces, I like the tamarind sauce and the Asian street dust. It tastes good! BUT This comes out to around $15/16, the egg and steak are added costs. Extremely expensive for what I get. I can get triple or even 4 times the amount at a regular Vietnamese restaurant for maybe $10. I definitely do not get full off of one order. I like for a quick snack that won't fill you up. Good thing is, Teaspoon is right next door, so you can always finish the meal off with boba! Note on the service...not sure if it was the same person, but I've been here about 3 times in the past few months and have had so much trouble ordering at the register.
