Really wish I had looked up the reviews before visiting, there's a big reason they have such terrible reviews. I had THE absolute worst experience with Rima and Mehdi today. Went in looking for new home furniture as I am moving into a new space. Izabel, who assisted us was very helpful and had such positive energy so we went with a sofa set she recommended to us. The sofa set was priced lower on their site than it was in store so we kindly asked if they match the price. Izabel said they do price match but just had to ask for Rima's approval. Rima looked at the online price and approved so we made the purchase. As we were already walking out of the store, Rima stops us and asks to see the online price again that I had showed her on my phone. She takes a photo and asks us to wait. We didn't know the situation so were just left confused but still cooperated. She returns with Mehdi who had the absolute worst attitude. He asks to see my phone for the price online. I thought he just wanted confirmation to see the price difference between online vs in-store so I handed my phone with the item online over to him. He is on my phone for a while and I see him being SUPER invasive scrolling through my browser history, which I did not appreciate. He shows me his iPad and rudely tells us "I cannot give this away, the price is different on my device." I was caught off guard, what exactly did he "give away"? We explained we already made the purchase to which Mehdi rudely responds "Well we're going to have to process a refund." The discounted price online wasn't even that much of a difference (only about $110 for a big furniture piece). He was adamant and left us with no choice talking down to us about issuing a refund, didn't even ask if we wanted the item at the in-store price. Rima still had the nerve to try to have us wait a line of customers for the refund, mind you we already spent hours in the store looking for furniture pieces we planned on buying. It's a real shame as we were planning on returning to Izabel to furnish the rest of our home once we got proper dimensions of our new space but I will most definitely not be stepping foot in here again after such an AWFUL experience. They are total scammers and greedy to force a refund on a transaction already purchased just minutes after over a slight price difference. I highly encourage others not to purchase here. So many of these reviews also mention purchases never getting delivered and I had the exact same experience with previous purchases, weeks after the delivery date passed and I still had received no delivery. When I called to ask about the delay, they advised the item was no longer manufactured and issued me a refund. Would've been nice to receive a notice of this? That should've been the ultimate red flag to not return but I still gave them a second chance as I thought it was an honest mistake. I've called 10 different people regarding the same issue - my broken couch. You'd think it would be a simple fix considering I even bought the extended warranty but here we are 4 months later. Really disgusting experience here today. I went into the store because I wanted to test out the Purple Mattresses. Literally from the moment I walked into the door a salesman followed me around and literally camped a few feet away watching me the entire time I was testing out the mattresses and then followed me around the store even though I told him several times I didn't need help at the moment and would let him know if I did. He would not leave me alone and kept on giving me a finance pitch even though I told him several times I wasn't interested. The entire experience was weird and creepy. This store is a joke. They have messed up my orders twice, and then sold me a defective mattress. Although they agree the mattress is defective, I've had a horrible time getting it replaced. Dealing this for over a month! I have had a lumbar fusion, so this mattress is literally causing me physical pain. I've contacted corporate, and was told that a member of their escalations team (located outside the US) would contact me the next day. That was two weeks ago. Still no response. If I could give ZERO stars I would. This store sold me a couch that they claimed was "100% Leather". I have screen grabs from customer service that confirm it's "100% Leather". But lo and behold it's not - it's "63% Leather" and the polyeurathane coat is peeling 1 year later. The store and customer service refuse to do anything about it. They claim that because I've had it a year it's not their problem - and take ZERO responsibility for lying to customers. We'll after calling since we had not heard from anyone they told us we would receive the items at the end of August and now we are being told October. The worst costumer service ever ! We ordered a couch in early August and they told us it'll be delivered end of August. I called them since they didn't call us to schedule the delivery date end of August they told me it'll come mid September.... I understand sometimes parts can be on back order okay... they were suppose to schedule the deliver and again they did not. I requested a call and they called back 2 days after to tell me now the deliver date is schedule on October 7th! We have a house with no furniture since august.... He said it had lasted several years in the rain and sun and looked like new. Well...I doubt that. After 18 months, our cushions began to fade and the woven outer covering began to break down and basically fall apart. We are going to have to throw all of it out and buy new again...after spending $800 on it (plus a useless $99 warrantee that only covers accidental damage). The worst experience ever...! Our furniture was bought in November of 2019 It's February 2020 and it's already breaking down. Note: it's was damaged when it arrived. They send someone to come and fix it, guess what they said( " I can't fixed it, if I do it will look worst") So we called the store and since it was a small crack we took their offer on a $150 gift card. We went back to see what we can buy with our gift card. The gift card comes with a catch. We can't buy anything on sale, clearance or any kind of promotion items. They sell you insurance for your furniture which is a scam. The furniture is made of particle boards mixed with wood and the particle board is used to support big items such as couches. My experience-I bought a living room set, 3 items total (2 couches and 1 recliner/rocker) with 5 yr-insurance....within 2 months of owning the recliner broke!! I was in disbelief. The repair people could not fix the issue so I was given a new chair. Great! However, few years later, I reported having a broken couch. Called their furniture insurance company and they said they could not fix our couch cause I reported the damage more than a month after the damage occurred. Turns out I gave the wrong month, Pandemic-brain screw up. Told them date was a mistake and they told me they could not do anything to help me. I bought a warranty So if something was damaged it could be fixed, not For someone to tell me I reported it too late. I'm busy AF and made an error but the warranty company doesn't care. Now I'm stuck with a broken couch and I will need to buy a complete new livingroom set Unexpectedly. Over $2000 spent and not even 4 years later I need to repurchase. This place is horrible. Their warranty (which we paid extra for an addition 5 years) also is a scam. They don't keep our record for 5 years so they won't let us utilize our warranty. They deserve negative stars. I've never seen a company with a 2 star Yelp review and to be honest, that's too high for them. Managers - feel free to reach out to me to remedy the situation. Zero to Costumer service - Marianne On Saturday 10/14/23 , we bought 8 dinner chairs (the salesman was great) and we were offered a protection plan. First, we denied the protection plan. The soonest they could delivery the chairs was Tuesday 10/17/23. However, we preferred to have it delivered later, on Wednesday 10/18/23, because we would be home and free. And I could decide whether or not to add the protection plan for the chairs. To our surprise later the day, we got an e-mail from FedEx saying they had our chairs, which would be delivered the next day - Sunday. It worked well because we were home. Today, Monday, after opening the boxes, I called the store to see if I could add the protection plan. The lady on the phone Marianne1:54 pm 10/16/23, said NO because the chairs were already delivered, and I couldn't add it. I told her it was delivered 3 days early - before the date we had scheduled the delivery. She said it was not her fault, and if I accept it, I was negligent. BE AWARE when you buy at that store. I bought a new electronic recliner for my wife in September 2021, just before she had a full knee replacement. The salesmen added the 5-year protection program to the bill for $149.00. My bad as I should have seen and questioned it when I got my receipt, but I did not.... The reclined motor failed on January 2, 2022. I called customer service. It took 2 weeks to get the replacement part, so I had to buy a replacement chair for my wife. The tech came out and replace the motor in the seat, but then told me the wiring was defective and the button panel that controls the motor was also defective. He told me he would order more parts and follow up with me. Four days later, i had not heard from anyone so I called customer service again. This time I waited on hold for 2 1/2 hours. Customer service told me the order for replacement parts had been placed but that the parts would not be available to ship until sometime in February!!! I asked them to replace the recliner, but they said that request would probably be denied! Customer service was terrible. The store does not back up their product warranties and the 5-year protection program they add to every bill is not even affiliated with Ashley and is worthless. It's nice to just sit on a couch or lay on a bed to know what you're getting. Tony helped get me started and Izabel did an amazing job helping me pick out furniture for my new apartment. Judging by other reviews, I think I got (kind of) lucky in my experience here. Partially because of what I bought - a dresser and a unique bookcase. This store wasn't my first choice - had visited a few places looking for these specific items, and it was either out of my price range, or something I didn't like as much. So this was like the last chance on my furniture shopping day and wasn't expecting to find anything here. First off, I do not like when salesmen follow you around asking so many questions. I get they are trying to sell / be a "designer"... but AS a designer AND someone who's worked retail at a furniture for almost 4 years, this is a big deterrent. It's bothersome and puts unnecessary pressure on the customer, as well as doesn't let me look at stuff I didn't come in for but might buy (one of the main rules of retail). Example: salesman kept following me around asking what color dresser I was looking for. I said "probably black" (but knowing it's one of those, "I'll know when I see it" type of situations), but checked and measured all of them myself after he pointed them out. But, I found one I liked a lot better than wasn't black at all. Aside from this, getting followed and badgered with questions didn't make me that comfortable browsing other items not on my immediate needs list. Onto the financials. Since I had just moved I had received a 20% off coupon in the mail, but didn't bring it (since I didn't know we were stopping by here), but thankfully the salesman gave me 40% off the dresser, and my bookcase was already 50% off. They charge an extra $90 for delivery and assembly, which honestly is super worth it. But also, you don't really have a choice. Despite this, I still got a good deal. An hour+ after I left the store, they called me to tell me they double charged me. Okay... so... just refund the card. No. Can we do it over the phone?? No... okay??? Again, as someone who worked retail, this is kind of unheard of. Why are you making the customer DRIVE BACK to the store, and then not offer compensation when it was the salesman's fault they double charged me??? I was pretty disappointed with this. My pieces got delivered intact and quickly on a Sunday afternoon during the correct time slot we confirmed via text the day before, so that went by pretty smoothly. In conclusion, mixed experience (and will be cautious if I return) but I am happy with my new pieces. read more

I am disputing a purchase in the amount of 3,294.40 made on 6/10/023 due to the following reasons. We purchased a Firm Stearns and Foster Cal King mattress on 6/10/2023, the tag on the mattress on the store incorrect as it had the incorrect model number that we did not know about. When the mattress was delivered on 6/16/2023 we noticed it was extremely firm and not like the floor model. I went to the store the next day on 6/17/2023 and checked the mattress on the floor and noticed it was way softer. I typed the model number listed for the cal king model and lone behold it was for a Ultra Firm even though the tag said it was just a regular firm. After filing a claim (claim #08262705) with Ashley and multiple follow ups with the store they finally approved an exchange on 6/21/2023. The new delivery date for the correct mattress was 6/23/2023. When the delivery team arrived they removed the incorrect mattress first then brought up the correct mattress. When they laid the new correct mattress down the mattress was defective. It sunk down on the right side and bottom right corner. It was very obvious and I attempted to reject the delivery but the driver stated that he has no room on the truck and that this was an even exchange so I would have to accept it and file another claim. I made him take pictures of the mattress and note the delivery. I filed another claim (claim#08277313) the same day and after multiple follow up attempts for over a week Ashley sent someone out to inspect the mattress. On 7/4/2023 the Ashley technician came out and immediately notice that the mattress was defective, he took measurements and submitted his report. On 7/5/2023 another exchange was approved, I was contacted a few days later by Ashley to set up delivery for 7/11/2023. When the delivery guys came I made them open the new mattress downstairs to avoid issues. When the plastic was removed off the mattress there was obvious defects on it that even the driver noticed. At this point I am on 3 delivery attempts going on 4th to resolve the matter. I filed two BBB complaint on 7/17/2023, one for the Burbank store location and one with the corporate office. I also called Ashley furniture on 7/17/2023 and finally spoke to Nikki from the escalation team at the corporate office and advised her that I had filed a BBB complaint. She stated that she would verify with her team and get back to me which she never did. BBB sent me an email message on 7/20/2023 with a response from Ashley Furniture on BBB complaint ID# 20333330 which I have attached to the documents of this dispute. The response is that they would return the mattress and issue a refund to the original form of payment and that the pick up of the mattress was scheduled for 7/22/2023. I would typically get a pre-text the evening before to confirm the delivery/pick up but I did not receive one. I called Ashley Furniture at (800)240-3440 at 10:40AM and was on the phone for 16 minutes with a customer service representative who stated that this pick up was never scheduled and that he would try to call the delivery team to see whats going on and call me back. I never received a call back that day from anyone. On 7/24/2023 I called the same phone number at 9:07AM and spoke to another customer service representative for 6 minutes who stated that we have to schedule the pick up again since there was an error with the first date of 7/22/2023. The associate confirmed the new pick up date will be 7/29/2023 and that I would receive a pre-text the evening before to confirm. On 7/28/2023 I received no pre-text so I called the same phone number again at 4:51PM and spoke to a customer service representative who stated that they have no pick up scheduled yet again. At this point we think Ashley is doing this deliberately to not pick up the mattress which they agreed to on the BBB resolution email. Please help us, we are lost at this point as we are exhausted dealing with Ashley Furniture and their lack of communication. If we try to schedule the pick up again they will just do the same thing over again. We have attempted twice to have this mattress picked up so they can issue the refund back to our Discover card but they have failed both times. I was also contacted by the Ashley Home store in Burbank on 7/30/2023 asking me to schedule an exchange for the defective mattress. I advised the associate that I have written documentation from the BBB and Ashleys Corporate office stating that this is a return and full refund but they stated they have no documentation of it. They put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back to say that they spoke to their manager and regional manager and that they don't have that the refund information available. I advised them to call their corporate office and figure it out as I have written documentation of it. I have filed a claim with my credit card company and have provided all call logs from the dates provided as well as the letter from the BBB/Ashley corporate. read more
