They could of just given me the chair on the sales floor, but they made me wait an hour and a half to repair an unrepairable chair. It's unfortunate I have to leave this bad review since we literally furnished our entire house with Ashley originally 8 years ago. So when we needed a new couch that was more comfortable for me after having two back surgeries, we naturally went to Ashley. Huge regret!!! They are very nice when they want your business (as others have noted) but once the order is in and paid for, good luck! We received email and text notification of a confirmed delivery date and had our previous couch removed from our home. Come to find out, this was a "false" confirmation. Customer service apologized and said it's a system error and those emails and texts are inaccurate. Um, so I'm supposed to know to not trust communication from you?!? It's been over 2 weeks and I still don't have a new couch. Another customer service rep called and gave a new delivery date right as I received a text of a completely different date. She then suggested I call the store and have them reimburse the delivery fee for the inconvenience. The store experience is by far the worst! A very very rude lady (Miriam) answered the phone and after being placed on hold numerous times due to her incompetence and alleged system problems, she became overtly rude! I had to keep re explaining the reason for my phone call. She then insisted they don't waive delivery unless they make an error. I literally had to spell it out for this idiot employee. I also told her 3 customer service reps suggested I do call the store since they were the only ones authorized to waive the fee. I asked to speak to the manager "Medi" and of course they were conveniently "unavailable." I knew from her rude attitude this manager was either never going to get my information or he/she encouraged this substandard customer service. (I'm a manager myself and I'd fire this employee for numerous reasons!) It's been a week and (shocking) no phone call from the manager or anyone from the store. Run away from this place! Went back to use them last week and the manager Sava or Saba said they don't accept them. I am disputing a purchase in the amount of 3,294.40 made on 6/10/023 due to the following reasons. We purchased a Firm Stearns and Foster Cal King mattress on 6/10/2023, the tag on the mattress on the store incorrect as it had the incorrect model number that we did not know about. When the mattress was delivered on 6/16/2023 we noticed it was extremely firm and not like the floor model. I went to the store the next day on 6/17/2023 and checked the mattress on the floor and noticed it was way softer. I typed the model number listed for the cal king model and lone behold it was for a Ultra Firm even though the tag said it was just a regular firm. After filing a claim (claim #08262705) with Ashley and multiple follow ups with the store they finally approved an exchange on 6/21/2023. The new delivery date for the correct mattress was 6/23/2023. When the delivery team arrived they removed the incorrect mattress first then brought up the correct mattress. When they laid the new correct mattress down the mattress was defective. It sunk down on the right side and bottom right corner. It was very obvious and I attempted to reject the delivery but the driver stated that he has no room on the truck and that this was an even exchange so I would have to accept it and file another claim. I made him take pictures of the mattress and note the delivery. I filed another claim (claim#08277313) the same day and after multiple follow up attempts for over a week Ashley sent someone out to inspect the mattress. On 7/4/2023 the Ashley technician came out and immediately notice that the mattress was defective, he took measurements and submitted his report. On 7/5/2023 another exchange was approved, I was contacted a few days later by Ashley to set up delivery for 7/11/2023. When the delivery guys came I made them open the new mattress downstairs to avoid issues. When the plastic was removed off the mattress there was obvious defects on it that even the driver noticed. At this point I am on 3 delivery attempts going on 4th to resolve the matter. I filed two BBB complaint on 7/17/2023, one for the Burbank store location and one with the corporate office. I also called Ashley furniture on 7/17/2023 and finally spoke to Nikki from the escalation team at the corporate office and advised her that I had filed a BBB complaint. She stated that she would verify with her team and get back to me which she never did. BBB sent me an email message on 7/20/2023 with a response from Ashley Furniture on BBB complaint ID# 20333330 which I have attached to the documents of this dispute. The response is that they would return the mattress and issue a refund to the original form of payment and that the pick up of the mattress was scheduled for 7/22/2023. I would typically get a pre-text the evening before to confirm the delivery/pick up but I did not receive one. I called Ashley Furniture at (800)240-3440 at 10:40AM and was on the phone for 16 minutes with a customer service representative who stated that this pick up was never scheduled and that he would try to call the delivery team to see whats going on and call me back. I never received a call back that day from anyone. On 7/24/2023 I called the same phone number at 9:07AM and spoke to another customer service representative for 6 minutes who stated that we have to schedule the pick up again since there was an error with the first date of 7/22/2023. The associate confirmed the new pick up date will be 7/29/2023 and that I would receive a pre-text the evening before to confirm. On 7/28/2023 I received no pre-text so I called the same phone number again at 4:51PM and spoke to a customer service representative who stated that they have no pick up scheduled yet again. At this point we think Ashley is doing this deliberately to not pick up the mattress which they agreed to on the BBB resolution email. Please help us, we are lost at this point as we are exhausted dealing with Ashley Furniture and their lack of communication. If we try to schedule the pick up again they will just do the same thing over again. We have attempted twice to have this mattress picked up so they can issue the refund back to our Discover card but they have failed both times. I was also contacted by the Ashley Home store in Burbank on 7/30/2023 asking me to schedule an exchange for the defective mattress. I advised the associate that I have written documentation from the BBB and Ashleys Corporate office stating that this is a return and full refund but they stated they have no documentation of it. They put me on hold for 15 minutes and came back to say that they spoke to their manager and regional manager and that they don't have that the refund information available. I advised them to call their corporate office and figure it out as I have written documentation of it. I've spoke to everyone from sales reps to escalators in the company and the best they could do is tell me they don't have a written policy on bedding and can't help me in any way. I've reached out to Ashley Furniture soo many times since then and they still just say the item is not in stock. The estimated delivery date just keeps getting pushed back then I finally got an estimated delivery of April 25. Well, I wish I look at yelp before making the mistake of buying at Ashley. I made the leap, went to the store and paid for a couch with the expectation of delivery in 4-8 weeks. I was given 2 different delivery dates, as the chaise was available at a different time as the couch. I got a good deal on the couch (so I thought), and paid $1000 below ticket price. 4-8 weeks came and went, and still no couch. Months passed by, 5 canceled and rescheduled delivery dates later and still no couch. After taking multiple days off of work so I could be here for delivery, after talking constantly with the Ashley customer service, and 4 months later, I reached out to the Better Business Bureau to open up a claim about my couch that hasn't arrived. It wasn't until I did that, where my next delivery date, actually happened. The only problem this time was I received half a couch. When I asked the delivery guys where the rest was, they were unsure. When I called Ashley to ask where the rest of my couch was, they had no answers or information or future delivery dates. They just said "oh you didn't get it?" And that was that. 5 months in and finally, I received my couch, my whole couch. Look, I understand that due to COVID, a lot of factors are contributing in furniture orders taking a while. However, there is no excuse for lying to customers, knowing whole heartedly that 4-8 weeks is unrealistic. I wouldn't have been upset if I was told my couch would take 5 months. Because of Ashley's lies, I had to cancel Thanksgiving, Christmas, and I lost 3 days of work that I had taken off to be here for deliveries that were scheduled, confirmed the day before and then never showed up the day of. The customer service is not awesome. I feel bad for them because I know its not their fault but what an aweful way to do business. I won't ever buy from Ashley again and I will tell everyone I know and continue to meet about what happened. If you look on the Ashley Facebook and Instagram, you will see thousands of customers experiencing exactly what happened to me. I can't see how Ashley will come out of this successful. Terrible quality furniture for exorbitant prices. I purchased a fabric sofa set complete with ottomans and not even 3 months after use the fabric started to pill. I am not excessively using the sofa and both my husband and I are not heavy individuals - I weight 98 pounds and he's 145! Might I also add that neither of us are couch potatoes and just from the light use of the couch it has started to pill and become misshapen. I also take very good care of any item I own. I paid close to $3k for "on sale" furniture that I would have at least hoped would last a few years. I also got suckered into the furniture protection plan, which doesn't cover fabric pilling. I would basically need to "accidentally take a knife to the entire sofa for the fabric to be repaired under this protection plan - so ridiculous. My fault for buying from Ashley Furniture. Our old living room set was beloved...but had given us all it had. It was time to move on and I got an idea from Pinterest and proceeded to find the sofa I envisioned. We saw it online but when I read the Yelp reviews, I opted not to try Ashley. As is usual in these cases, I didn't find anything that worked as well as I believed the Ashley set would so we finally went in. Went I around 4 on a Sunday. Had no hassle shopping-our salesman introduced himself and directed us to the sofa we came to see but let us be as we looked around. Once we decided, he gave us a great deal...but wait there is more. Somehow a mattress came up and he gave us a really good deal. Our furniture arrived today (15 minutes early)! The elevator. was too short so the guys walked it up three flights. Found a couch online that I liked and it appeared at two stores, one at a store in New York that ships for free, price was 1100$. Ashley had the same couch for 1700$. I called and asked if they had the couch in stock and they said yes. I asked if they price matched and they said yes. So my wife and I went to test out the couch and decided we wanted to buy it. When the saleswoman brought the paperwork out, I showed her the printout I had brought for the price match. Her smile disappeared. She went into immediate defense mode. After a bit of back and forth, she said she had to ask her manager. When she came back she said they could not price match because they "only price match other Ashley stores". Ok. That makes no sense and if it's true just shows you the operation they are running as far as markup. I told the salesperson that we would just order online and said goodbye. She went back to the manager. When she came back she warned is that the website we were looking at only did curbside delivery, so we would have to carry it up ourselves. She said for 1400$, they could deliver and assemble. I didn't buy this. I said, nah, for 1100$ we can have someone else assemble. Back to manager. She comes back to us and says that the only way they can do 1100$ is if I buy the extended warranty (we all know this is how the money is made). Warranty was about 250$ I believe, been a long time. I ask her what it covers, she said any and everything. Rips, tears, stains, fading, breaks in the frame, etc. So I caved thinking that we were buying was a high quality piece of leather furniture that would only get better with age. What I really bought was an 1100$ piece of crap. In less than a year, the stitching started to rip away. No hard use, no kids, no wear and tear. Nothing. I call up to claim my warranty. That is where my one star begins. Claiming any warranty from the company that they conveniently outsource, is the worst experience you can imagine. The whole process involves picture taking, emails, follow ups, more calls, more emails, more follow ups. It took over a month for someone to come out and fix the couch. When the guy got here and took apart the couch, I got to see what a piece of crap this actually was. 2x4s, plywood, staples. He stapled new leather on and was on his way. It ripped after 30 days. We didn't want to go through that process again so just lived with it. Then the frame broke from literally having a seat on it. Called back. When I reported it the customer service rep said she would have to look into my coverage because "jeez, we paid so much for that first repair". It's been over a month and a half and 5 follow up calls and emails, and nothing. Never get the warranty from this place. BBB gbsent.com and see for yourself. The couches here look great and feel great for the time that you are in store. They are crap. But mostly, the warranty they sell you on is essentially worthless. The manager quickly told us to come to their location and he will take care of us. And OMG he is a man of his word. We were treated so much better. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE NO DOUBT! The salesperson was very attentive and listened to our concerns. The manager was accommodating and we showed him the advertised sofa we want that was on sale. He said that they were sold out but he showed us a similar sofa and he stated he will honor the sale price for this sofa and we were amazed. The sofa was just what I was looking for. SCORE!!! Since we were here at this location and loving the hospitality. We were also in the market for a new dining table. So the salesperson showed us a few dining tables. We told him exactly what we wanted. We wanted a round table that can fit at least 6 chairs. He showed us one and I fell in love with that table. It was just what I was looking for. The manager again was very accommodating and really took care of us. He even threw in 4 sets of plates for free. Now here came the tricky part, we wanted the dining set and sofa arrived by a certain day. They delivered our items on time with no problems at all. Then finally we think we are getting somewhere and nope, they send a store owner/manager/corporate person not sure what he truly was from out of our area as we thought to pick up the dresser unopened and still boxed, but nope, he's a liar and a cheat as well (SAID HE RUNS THE SANTA CLARITA ASHLEY STORE SO STAY CLEAR FROM THERE TOO) and he lied about everything! RUN AWAY! Go somewhere else! Stay away from this place. 1. My first uh oh! was when Ashley's messed up my order and delivered the wrong things not once but 3x! It wasn't the delivery company, it was the sales associate who didn't write the correct codes. After a couple of attempts to customer service with no answer. I had to go back to the actual store to get it fixed. 2. My furniture broke within a year, even with minimal use. My vanity is peeling. My storage chair broke and I only weigh 160lbs. I'll just call customer service because I purchased insurance. I was assured at the store this covered broken items blah blah blah....WRONG! 3.Customer Service never answers even when you call right at 10am when they open. I called 3x in one day and no answer. 4.I left 2 voicemails for call back and NOTHING! I have gone on their website and opted for the call back and guess what? NOTHING! They consistently pushed product we didn't want and need, and now we are dealing with getting replaced furniture, it's being shipped and it's become a whole headache of a process. Since they decided not to ship it to the right address and that's our fault when the woman at the store read me back my address. This is for an online purchase. What a shoddy company. Couldn't care less about customer satisfaciton. I purchased a recliner and loved it so I bought another but the new one was as hard as a rock, literally. So I called Ashley the next day to request a replacement and was told that their team would be in touch via email, but they were not and after nearly three weeks, I contacted them again and after being hold for a long while, she said that she'd have to put in a new request and assured me that their team would be in touch in 2-5 business days and they finally were, but not to pick it up but with a return address and that I would be responsible for all shipping costs even though it is an unusable chair. I agreed nonetheless, just to get rid of it, only to learn that they meant I would have to arrange and pay for it directly. I submitted requests for calculations with FedEx and UPS, both were over $500, the chair cost $300, so I contacted Ashley again to ask that they arrange shipping that would surely be less than what I would be charged as an individual, that as a company, they would have resources that I don't, I was even willing to pay up to $300 just to get this out of here, even though defective, but they replied that they weren't a shipping company. So how do you pick up defective items? No reply to my several emails. A whole month with this giant box in my living room, checking my email and spam daily, my poor Autistic son asking daily if they would pick-it up today, I said maybe tomorrow, but that never happened. I considered donating it to charity, but wouldn't wish this rock that thay call a chair on anyone, my next call was the Dept. of Sanitation to pick-it up as trash because that's what it is. Had I known how shoddy this company is I would have saved us all the stress, my sore back for nearly three days after sitting on it for less than half an hour and the eyesore and have just tossed it long ago. Sold! ...I had the most awesome sales person today here at Ashley, Marlien although new to her job, really did her best to get the sale..as she rightfully deserve so. We came here only with the intention to buy a new mattress, following Consumer Reports advice, we looked at the brands they highly recommend, If anybody was watching aside from the very patient Marlien, they might have thought I was crazy, laying from one bed to another, 5 minutes each time feeling and assessing my comfort level...it's not everyday that you buy a mattress, so getting the best one that suits your comfort level is an absolute must!! After an hour of laying down, farting around, sitting, and doing a little "bouncy-bouncy" I finally decided on a firm pillow top Stearns & Foster! ( I'm so sure Marlien couldn't be any happier for me haha) Ashley is huge, furnishings of different styles, wood stains, paint, fabrication and taste present itself like live bait to customers needing a little home furnishing upgrade, after drawing up the paperwork's for the mattress, I wandered around and flop my butt on several leather love seats to look for that perfect couch I've been hunting for quite sometime now for my humble shack...another hour later, I found the loveseat that matches my style, preference and comfort ..I loved it! Sold!... ...my 4th of July furniture shopping didn't stop after the mattress & loveseat, of course, I've stumbled upon the best looking "art deco'ish" wood carved coffee table with lots of storage space and side table...again..sold! I don't usually spend HOURS shopping but when it comes to home furnishings which I will be using for a long time, I usually make sure to get something that I won't regret, comfortable and I would enjoy for a very long time. There are 2 main reasons why I am not giving Ashley 5 stars as wonderful as my sales person was, First; when I purchased additional items after an invoice had been drawn, customer service seems to be a little less enthused by that, isn't the purpose of the 4th of July sale to sell? after spending a little more than 3 grand I was expecting a bit more customer service enthusiasm. Second; the delivery, expecting that my new mattress will be delivered as scheduled, I stripped off my bedroom before going to work, come to find out arriving home after work, the mattress got left out in their warehouse...not a biggie, I was disappointed but It gave me one more night to say my goodbye to a faithful old mattress LOL Overall, Ashley is alright, with a few tweaks in customer service and attention to detail, they have the potential to be an outstanding home furnishing store. read more

I will never order another piece of furniture from Ashley. They are quick and hungry to sell you it all, with a large team to help you finance, but their customer service is pathetic. No one to talk to unless you have hours to wait on hold (no exaggeration). Same goes for their "online chat". Literally crickets when questions needed to be answered about an outstanding order. There is literally one customer service employee at the actual store (while there are so many salesmen/women) and she still had to hang up and promise to call me back. We are beyond frustrated after placing an order for a sofa set over two months ago and still no communication on delivery status. Why the heck would I ever go back when there are other stores that sell comparable items. read more

The Oxnard store was great at selling us the furniture! When our living room table was delivered it looked good. Until we centered it with the couches and realized the manufacture didn't center the top of the table with the legs! Ran out and the drivers were gone! Had there technician come out and he said he couldn't fix it. I received a message yesterday that they wouldn't replace the table. No call back number and only the first name of the person calling. I spent 3 hours on the phone. Finally got through to get the same answer! They gave me a $50.00 gift card to write a good review about them! That didn't happen!! My husband turned it over and he was able to center the top with the legs! This company doesn't stand behind there products because there furniture is cheaply made! Never shop there again!! HORRIBLE!!! We ordered a sofa set, they delivered in the morning after we contacted them to deliver in the afternoon. They said, "we will be back in a week." IN A WEEK?!!? We called to confirm a 2nd delivery date. They said it was on BACK ORDER. The sofa would be delivered in a couple weeks and the love seat the next month. WHAT?!?! (Didn't they just have it on a truck to deliver?) We canceled the order. Like most people we got rid of the old set to make room for the new one and are without livingroom furniture. They tell you "buy the protection plan we'll replace whatever you need" they don't do anything. They lie. Their furniture tears and breaks. I bought stuff 2 years ago and tore over and over. Spent over $4000 and they tell you they can't help you when you've bought a protection plan that's $500. They will scam you. Do not shop here! Take your business elsewhere! I have no idea where to start from since not a single thing went smooth with my purchase and till today I am still fighting with Ashley's. I ordered couches in August and Ashley's told me I should be getting everything in October. Guess what! I am not getting everything in until January 2021! Lets not forget how disrespectful and unprofessional the general manager Medi was. I can not believe the way Medi handled my situation. I spent so much time going back and forth with Ashley customer service because Medi kept ignoring my phone calls and kept hanging up on me. Even the customer service department reached out to him so he returns my calls. I finally had to take time off work to drive down to the store. This company will do anything to sell you furniture. TRUST ME DON'T DO IT! You are better off paying extra and not going through the stress. You are going to deal with delays, damaged furniture and the worst customer service. I purchased about $15k in furniture a while back. I furnished a two bedroom townhome. Most of the furniture had damage that they used a sharpie type of marker to cover up all the knicks and scratches. The beds all had to be retrofitted as their design of these thin particle board rails to hold the bed are a joke. Anyone who would think these bed frames can old a bed and two people are idiots. Overall the quality of the furniture is on par with ikea but you pay 4 times as much for it. Honestly do not buy a bed frame from them as they are designed like complete shit. I bought 3 sleigh beds. They lasted two weeks before they liquid nails and cheap screws broke off on all 3 of them. I notified them of the crap they sell. Then I get the standard BS run around. We have to send someone to look a them. They need to make their suggestions on how we should fix the issue. Then management will determine what action they'll take. Then we'll send someone out. Then we'll cross our fingers that we didn't skimp to much on fixing our shitty beds and hope they hold up. Look straight up. Everything I bought was scratched, dinged, looked like a floor sample or just broke within a few weeks of getting it. Even the lamps had poor quality patch jobs on them. I am not sure how this place is still in business as the quality sucks. I mean it's like buying a Chevy. You know it's going to break down on you. You just don't know when. Two stars because are sales associate was very nice. But don't buy the furniture. It's just cheap particle board crap behind the scratches and dinged up finishes. Sorry I should've wrote this review years ago. The reason I am just righting it now is because I had a put all this crap furniture in storage hoping one day I'd be able to use it. Got a bed frame delivered today. Multiple cracks, headboard feels used. Because we got a threshold delivery, we are supposed to take it ourselves to their Warehouse in Colton, 2h in traffic one way. So we paid $800 for "here is the bed, if you have issues, you figure it out". They dont know the hours and they dont know the exact logistics of how this exchange is going to look like. They give you corporate numbers to call, but their corporate numbers tell you that is not their standard procedure of handling the exchange. Quality is worse than what we had before, which was a $200 bed from Amazon. Awful. Stay away. read more

I would pay money to have this place shut down. They blame other departments for shortcomings and never resolve any issues. The delivery person lied about coming and claimed that I denied the service. It is taking me 2 freaking months to get storage unit. 2 months.When i asked for it the next day they tell me 2 more weeks because it is coming from overseas. I asked them what does that have to do with anything. You claim to have tried to deliver it a few days prior. Nothing. Speaking to a wall is better than anyone in this company.
