My delicious plate
Valerie B.

My absolute favorite place in the area for Jamaican food. It's a buffet so you can get as much or as little as you want and you pay by weight which can get very dangerous lol. I typically get chicken, baked macaroni, cabbage and sweet plantains. My favorite thing about this place is that they don't over salt their food. I HATE when restaurants try to kill you with sodium as if their meal is your last meal. I used to come here frequently when i worked in the area now i go during the weekend if I'm around. The person at the register is always really nice and helpful especially if it's your first time there. They also have patties at the register and fruit and vegetable juices that are really tasty. Parking can be tricky but i try to park on the next street over and just walk over to make it easier to get out. There are a few other stores in their center which causes their few spots to fill up quickly. Definitely recommend for people who love Jamaican food but don't want to consume too much salt.

Where do I even begin! Ashlee's Jamaican Buffet is literally my top 5 Favorite place to go to... if you are looking for authentic Jamaican food and you are located anywhere near Uniondale... This is the place to go! I really have nothing negative to say about this place. The food is ridiculously delicious. My favorite is the rice and peas, their delicious oxtails, jerk chicken wings, mac & cheese, and their barbecue chicken. Also, can't go wrong with a Jamaican soda! This is a buffet style restaurant, you come in and grab your plate and serve yourself as you'd like. Honestly, the possibilities are endless. The price of your plate depends on its weight, so keep that in mind... The heavier your plate is, the more expensive, but it's all worth it! One thing I really admire about this place, is how serious they took precautions during the height of the pandemic, and even still: When you come in, they urge you to use hand sanitizer, then you are provided with gloves, before grabbing your plate. They encourage customers to not speak over the food and they require masks. I've been to this restaurant countless amount of times during the last 5 years, and it will forever remain one of my favorite go-to's.

Porgy, callaloo and ackee and salt fish.

I come here quite often. It's a buffet style restaurant which has many options. The food is fresh and tasty. They could use more vegetarian options.. Ie soup but worth a shot.

Jamaican food- buffet style! What more could you ask for?? This place opened up a couple of months ago. I've already been here about three times! When I first went here, it was late at night. I was driving around looking for some Carribean food around 10pm on a Sunday and this place caught my eye since it was still open! The staff was very friendly and I was amazed at the amount of food they had! They had many options to choose from like fish, oxtail, plantains, jerk chicken, bbq chicken, rasta pasta...the list goes on! The price the food by weight so atleast you can pick and choose the best parts =) I know this place will get popular since they offer great customer service and great food!

The food was okay stew chicken no real sauce on it .. jerk chicken wings was good .. mac and cheese was not tasty not enough cheese ... rice and peas was great ... will give another try

As someone born & raised in flushing who grew up eating hotpot/kbbq, and often still eats hotpot -…read moreI'm honestly very impressed by the quality of K-city. I will preface this by saying I consider K-city a 5/5 for Long Island - probably a 4/5 if K-city was in Queens tbh. If i was in the Nassau area I default to K-city vs. Kpot! I mainly go to K-city for the hotpot vs. the kbbq/hot food selection. The bbq is okay but the grill itself is pretty small. The prepared food selection is also okay, includes both hot food & sushi but I mainly consider it as food to eat while my hotpot is getting ready (lol). The broths are very legit with the variety offered being spicy (mala with the Szechuan peppercorns), mushroom, pork bone, herbal ( I believe is a mix of pork & chicken + herbs), tomato and mushroom. My favorite thus far have been the spicy & herbal! I appreciate that the meats are also included in the buffet section as well so I can control the quantity as opposed to some other hotpot/bbq places where the meats come pre-portioned. I think the main drawback of K-City as opposed to Spring Shabu (my personal 2nd favorite choice in nassau) is definitely the veggie selection & quality. Having said that, the veggie selection is okay and has the main things I get like the enoki mushrooms, napa cabbage, broccoli and noodles.

A lot of people seem to give high praises of this place. Several friends and family even…read morerecommended to me. Of course the beast in me have to try! First off, yeah its a bbq/ hotpot kind of joint. AYCE of course. I have to say the little personal hotpots they give us are cute. The broth choices doesn't seem to matter tbh. Eventually you're chucking all types of seafood and meats that will make your broth good regardless. The pot is a bit on the smaller side if you choose 2 different broths. Hoping the 1 flavor one would be bigger but its the same. Cause of the split pot inside. As for the choices it's pretty standard hotpot stuff. Nothing too crazy to write home about. The grill side was a bit on the disappointment. Sure they have "marinated meats" but when I went they just chuck frozen galbi on top of the marinated meat. Not sure if they didn't have enough time for prep but I felt like the workers are just throwing things in for us animals to eat regardless of flavors. The cook station and sushi station was probably the most disappointing stations of them all. Majority of the cooked foods were cold. you would assume theres some kind of heat light warmer or steam bath to keep the foods warm but nope... most of them were just out and about and cold. The sushi station was lack lustered... selections were limited. Just your average carb city and fillers. The sashimi were not appealing imo. Overall, i felt like this place maybe good for younger audiences or family outings. Kids will like it cause of all the different types of fried/fast food styles. Also... just a tip for some of you out there. If you see raw oysters and raw clams with ice cubes on them... it's for HOT POT to COOK THEM IN! If you want the legit ones goto the sushi station for them... DONT EAT THE ONES AT THE HOTPOT STATION! MOST LIKELY YOU WILL GET SICK IF YOU DO! I'm pretty sure their were signs that state that ...but saw some of these "adults" SLURPING AWAY before even making it to the table... and im like...bro is gonna be on the toilet for sure... SO yeah.. BE SMART! READ BEFORE STUFFING YOUR FACE WITH THE RAW STUFF!

But they are fun to go with a group, especially with non Koreans because they can try a variety of things. I've tried Kpot, Gen BBQ, and Let's Meat and they were all just so so. However Won Kbbq totally exceeded my expectations! WOW! Everything was fantastic- meats, banchans, appetizers, salads, and service!! Really, really solid and awesome. Bulbogi was tender and had the right amount to sweetness. Pork steak was also tender and perfectly seasoned. Brisket was thinly sliced and flavorful. Marinated chicken was also delicious. The servers were so friendly and attentive. They changed out the grill pan after each round of meats. We had a great lunch and will definitely be going back. Unfortunately I have a pineapple allergy and could only eat the spicy and non marinated items. Be warned the spicy kicked my butt and I love spicy food. The table comes with dipping sauces, kimchi, some pickles radish and bean sprouts. The suggestion to make things a lettuce wrap was perfect. Had a great cooling effect, plus is was a great vessel for the house dipping sauce. That sauce was so good, garlicy, chili laced but not too spicy and perfectly balanced. We tried a few side dishes. I will say the spicy rice cakes were odd. They were fried and the texture to me was not great. Also I would never order side of rice again. It was dry, both under and over cooked and felt like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while before we received it. I would definitely go here again.

As we waited for our turn to check out, I noticed she seemed to know almost everyone who walked up to the counter and greeted them with a smile and a bit of small talk. The interior could use a bit of updating. Aside from that, I would consider returning.

Global Buffet is a huge restaurants inside a large brick building and is hard to miss. There is plenty of parking as it sits in a large shopping area. We came on a random weekday and I was surprised how busy this place was. We were a slightly large group so it did take a minute for them to put some tables together. Customer service was great from start to finish. Our table stayed clean and our drinks stayed full. My uncle footed the bill, but I glanced at the prices and they are very reasonable here. The buffet setup is massive. I've honestly only seen bigger in Vegas. They had about 3 rows of foods. On top of that, off to the side, they have salad and dessert bars, a hibachi station, and a large sushi station. As the name of the restaurant suggests, the offerings are truly global. They have a variety of different cuisines but the main focus is Chinese food. I had a flight to catch after this meal so I took it a little easy on my intake. I started off with sushi. For a buffet, the sushi was actually pretty decent. Set your expectations correctly and you will enjoy it. Everything else I tried throughout the buffet was good. No complaints from anyone in our party. Overall, for a Chinese buffet, this spot was not bad at all. I wouldn't seek it out or feel compelled to come back, but would not complain if the family brought us back here again.

I unfortunately had to spit things out with 3 different items I tried. Two were unable to be chewed. One was a spicy beef, I could not bite into the meat or cut it. The second calamari, rubber and hard, just don't. The last was a cake a nepolian I belive and it was stale and the cream was oddly solid. There was some decent food but nothing to write home about. The service isn't bad, but it was definitely awkward. The staff is attentive, but they will stand over you and speak to each other in their native language as if you are not there. I would say avoid this place.

Overall, I can't say it's the best quality of foods however, the selection was huge and for the price, this was actually very good! The service was great. However, when we arrived, nobody was at the front counter, so we walked to the inside counter to ask to be seated. The front desk guy clearly just came in for his shift since he was hurrying on his cell phone, carrying bags and had his jacket on. He came over looking very busy and disheveled, and when my mom politely asked if we should wait here to be seated, he rudely responded, "Well if there's no one at that counter then you come to this counter if you see the sign." Meanwhile... there was no sign saying that when we left. My mom was just asking a simple question, so the attitude was unnecessary. Just because you're stressed or running late doesn't mean you take it out on customers. F him for being rude to my nice mom and never coming to this place again. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall, that experience left a bad taste. The sushi selection had a good variety, and the desserts were honestly the best part. They have a chocolate fondue station plus vanilla, matcha, and swirl soft serve ice cream machines. At least the place was clean. Also, the waitress gives you a parking discount before you leave, so don't forget to ask.
