Always a relaxing experience and good massages. People do a good job of following the noise rules and it's usually pretty quiet. It's kept clean and not too crowded.

AHHHHH....mazinnnngggg :) Idk how it has taken me so long to get here, but so glad I finally made it. It will definitely be rotated into my self-care routine. My friend treated me to a birthday bath experience. We got to experience 2+ hours of pure bliss. It is nice that there is free parking on-site. You go in and are greeted by the wonderful welcoming staff. They check you in and provide you a key for a locker to keep your things in. They have you sign a waiver and give you a brief intro of what to expect and house rules. They also provide complimentary non-slip slippers...but towels are 1 for $3 or 2 for $5. You must have a towel to sit on in the steam room and saunas. It is important to note that this is a bathing suit required bathhouse and all spaces are communal and for men, women, non-binary, etc. There are private bathrooms and changing rooms though. This is also an unplugged experience so phones and app devices must stay in the locker. Once you exit the locker room, you enter into the first space with showers, salt water mini warm pool, steam room, sauna, and one of my favorites - the cold water plunge bath! There are some areas to just lounge as well. I love that they have signage reminding you about noise level (quiet voices only) and prompts to guide you through the experience. We started with rinsing off then went to the steam room. After the steam room/sauna, you are required to rinse off again before entering the baths. So after the steam room and the rinse, I went to the cold plunge bath which was cold but actually not too bad! You gotta just go for it and dip your whole head in- it just invigorates you! I think I did this 3 or 4 times and each time I was able to stay in a bit longer! We also went to the sauna and the warm salt water mini pool. The next area which is outside is known as the "Social Space" where you are allowed to converse at normal speaking voice and bask in the sun and lounge. There is also a back building which has another warm salt water mini pool, sauna, and Ice bucket showers and regular showers. At the time we went it was a complete silence area, but they seem to vary when talking is allowed in the space. This area also has the salt room, sound room, and massage rooms (but these are all separated in the back and cost extra and are by appointment only). It's so nice they have cold drinking water with cups available in both areas and they encourage you to stay hydrated... its also smart to have electrolytes (Gatorade/Pedialyte) before and after (although this is not allowed during the experience, you can keep in your locker and return there to drink as needed). Lastly, they do provide plastic bags for your wet clothes to take home. No blow dryers as this would interrupt the peaceful space. This was just what I needed after being on the go and burning the candle at both ends the past couple of weeks... I really enjoyed it and would love to see if they do monthly memberships or discounts if you buy visits in bulk. Thank you so much for providing this retreat space in my hometown!

I've been wanting to check this spot out for a year now but was hesitant. So now that I've tried it out, I'm going to be as detailed as possible since I was curious about these things. - Arrived for a morning reservation for just the $39 bathhouse experience. Was more crowded than expected. - They have: 2 warm pools(no jets), 1 cold plunge pool, 2 cold buckets, 1 steam room, 2 dry saunas, & an outdoor seating/relaxing area. - There's a free small parking lot, fits about 12 or so cars. - Front desk people were nice during check in, they explained all the rules and everything well. - No need to bring your own lock, you get a key for a locker in exchange for your ID. - Towels and sandals are for rent. But I brought my own. But my flip-flops weren't grippy at all, so walking around was extremely slippery on the smooth concrete floors. - The locker/change area is co-ed but they have individual stalls you can change in. It was interesting but I didn't mind it. - They have water dispensers and paper cups for hydration. - The showers are for rinsing off, so they don't have private showers to do a full shower. They have Body Gel but no shampoo. - There were no hairdryers, but I asked the front desk and they brought one out for me to use. ------ Reasons for the 3 stars: I understand the lack of amenities is to keep the costs down, but I feel it's still on the pricier end for what there is and the overall experience. I started off in the first warm pool for a few mins but they had to close it down to treat the pool water, which I thought was strange why they had to suddenly do that during business hours, and also wonder what was wrong with the water. Everyone ended up moving to the second warm pool so it was pretty crowded for a while. The second pool was a bit cleaner. Also, they don't turn on the jets for the pools because they want to keep the place quiet. For early morning, the water was cloudy and kind of dirty already.. After they treated the pool, I was assuming it would've been cleaned but it wasn't, it was still dirty. The cold plunge pool was cold, but the cold buckets weren't as cold. The cold pool's water smelled like bleach or something. The first dry sauna was on the cooler end, about 150F. But the 2nd sauna was warmer, at about 190F, and this one is supposed to have the eucalyptus scent but it doesn't always. They come by once in a while to put the scented mixture in. Since the place is kind of small, I found two hours being enough for me. I did at about 5 rounds of the hot and cold cycle. Overall the place was clean, only the first warm pool was dirty. It was decently relaxing for the most part, but not sure if I'd return.

Asha Urban Baths in Sacramento was an incredible experience--so calming, intentional, and relaxing from start to finish. We loved it so much that we're making it a biannual tradition, especially as a New Year reset. Some of us did the sound immersion, others the salt lounge, and everyone left feeling restored. We all got massages too--huge shoutout to Ricky for an amazing, deeply relaxing massage. Can't wait to come back!

Asha Urban Baths has everything you need to disconnect and relax! My friends and I made a bathhouse reservation for Friday evening, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. We booked online, and the cost for the service was $39 for up to 2 hours. One of my friends forgot her towel, and staff can lend you one for $3. Staff were incredibly helpful in getting our group oriented, and we each received keys to a locker for our personal items. Inside, you're free to enjoy the spaces at your own pace. Before entering the pools, you're required to shower and the shower gels smell amazing. My favorite was the eucalyptus! Besides the differing pool temperatures, there are also different expectations for noise. A gong will be rung if you need to adjust your volume, which ensures that all guests can enjoy a serene experience. There's no space like Asha Urban Baths, and it may just be Land Park's best kept secret! Pro tip: Make a reservation. On the night I went, they were fully booked and not accepting walk-ins.

This is a diamond in the rough. An atomic, peaceful bath house offering several services. I spent two relaxed hours hopping from pool to sauna to cold plunge. When you leave you feel rejuvenated. The staff are friendly. The products-soap, lotion, body wash- they use are quality. There are co-ed changing rooms and bathrooms. Bring a book, or just meditate during your stay at Asha. You can go with friends or on a date or solo. Prepare to unplug-no phones in bath house.

Outside as phones are not permitted in the bathhouse (:

Ask the Community - Asha Urban Baths

Which day and hours of the day is least busy? Thank you.

Hey Ann! Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm tend to be our slowest days and times.

Are there ever any specials going for massages or baths?

Thanks for reaching out! We strive to maintain fair pricing all year instead of running occasional specials. However, we do offer our Retreat Yourself packages, which include a combination of massage, salt, or sound services, plus two hours in the… Read more

Does asha only take reservations or do they take walk ins too?

We do take in walk ins when we have open reservations. If reservations are fully booked, we're unable to take walk ins due to being at at capacity.

How cold is the cold plunge?

Is there a separate hot tub / sauna area for men and women or will they be in the sauna / hot tub, etc ... together?

Everything is shared

What type of clothing should I wear in the salt lounge? Any tips / things I should know about the salt lounge ahead of time?

Hi Carolyn! Wear comfortable clothing you can rest in. :) The temperature of the room is kept on the cool side so that the salt can disperse through the air, and we do provide weighted blankets. But if you tend to run cold, you may want to keep that… Read more

I have a group of 6 going, but one person doesn't want to do a massage while the rest of us do, will this affect with the reservation?

Hello! Good question. It's totally fine for one person in a group to not participate in getting a massage. For any other specific questions about your group visit, you can contact our Group Coordinator by emailing frontdesk@ashaurbanbaths.com :)

How much for prenatal massage and for single bath?

Hi, Mark! A 50 min massage plus a bathhouse visit is $130. The price is the same for prenatal as it is for other styles of massage, just make sure you specify that you want prenatal when you book so that you get scheduled with the right therapist :)

What is the locker room situation please? Does Asha provide locks or do we bring our own? I see that phones are not allowed in the spa area, so want to make sure can lock up phones etc.

Asha provides keys for the lockers. You'll receive a key on a bracelet that you wear while in the spa.

What are the temperatures on the hot soak and cold plunge? Thanks

Hi Judith! The warm pool is around 104-105 degrees and the cold plunge is between 58-60 degrees! :)

Where can I find information on the yoga classes? I see it on your pictures but don't see it on your website.

Hi, Zoila! We used to be a yoga studio AND a bath house, but we do not have the yoga studio anymore. :)

Is there any places to relax nude? Are is swimsuit always required

It's unisex so I think it is required.

Is this business plus size friendly, and can I be alone in the water to relax?

It's friendly! But it's a shared facility so there can be many people there.

Do they massage pregnant ladies?

Hi Jacqueline, we do! Just be sure to book it as “Prenatal” so you’re scheduled with a massage therapist who’s trained for that :). Congratulations and hope to see you soon <3

Due to COVID are you still open and provide if services for couples?

No longer holding couples massages. You're more than welcome to get massages at the same time! Just in separate rooms due to covid. You can always salt lounge and use the bathhouse together also :)

I'm interested in a group massage with friends for a birthday, does that group massage also include use of the bathhouse?

Hi! If their policies haven't changed, then yes. We had a group of 3 when we went in December for massages & also had access to the bathhouse for the entire day (even with in/out privileges for brunch, lunch, early dinner, or whatever). It was… Read more

Is an appointment required to use the bathhouse?

From their website: "No need to buy in advance. Stop by during our business hours and we will be happy to receive you."

What is the temperature of the hot bath?

103 - 104 degrees in winter and about 100 degrees in summer

How much is the sauna, soak, bath and massage package?

You might follow the link to their website, where all the fees are listed. My recollection is that they have seasonal specials and one-offs, so best to get the info from AUB itself. Also, the sauna, soak and bath is all in one place for one fee, so… Read more

How much is it for the warm baths and is it a private room type of thing or share with everyone?

$25.00 for the drop and co-ed for Male and female including the bathrooms and dressing area.

First, I really think it is tacky on their part to charge a separate $4 fee for the obstacle course which requires a wristband. Especially given that you then have to queue up just for a turn. While it is a cool feature it is annoying that you have to oay an entrance fee then this additional fee. I suggest they Just up the fee a couple of bucks and let anyone use it. Gripe number two, the lifeguards. Bros... chillll the F out! While I admire and respect their commitment to safety, they are a bit overzealous in regards to their enforcement of the rules. I wonder if because there are so many of them that they need to find any little thing to jump on to but the vigor that they use to address even the most minor violation such as kids running or hanging on the swim lines is so out of proportion that it is a bit absurd. I can't help but mess with them a little bit just out of spite. Aside from the issues mentioned it is a pretty cool place with a variety of options (waterside and kiddie area) that make for a fun way to beat the heat.
