I don't get to go out very often with 2 kids under 8 so when my sister offered to babysit so I could have a spa day with my hubby for my bday I was so excited! Booked us both an 80 min massage and then I was going to get a facial. I booked online, they called me back hours later around 4:55 to get a credit card on file, by the time I called back they were closed no biggie I call them back the next day. The phone does this weird ring thing and no one answers and the call drops. I try calling from my husbands phone, same thing. They call back sometime later apologizing and saying their WiFi was down so their phones were down. Not a big deal. Also their saltwater jacuzzi is out of service. Not ideal but not the end of the world bc we can use the hotel pool. Fast forward to a week later, I'm checking in early and getting the tour and find out that not only is the jacuzzi out of service but their sauna is too. Le sigh. I get my massage which was not relaxing (the masseuse was nice but moved really fast the whole time, except on my forearms) Hard to enjoy someone vigorously rubbing your back for 80 mins. No biggie, bc facials are always slow and relaxing and this next part will help calm me down. My esthetician wasn't ready when I got out of the massage (was still setting up) so I grab a snack, go to the restroom and tell my husband to enjoy the hotel pool. He pays and then goes to the pool. Facial time! I get in the chair and a scratchy hair protector was put on me and she proceeds to wash my face and put on a quick enzyme mask. That's the first time she steps out the room. I'm not thinking anything of it. She eventually comes back, wipes off the enzyme, and then proceeds to tell me that her heart rate is raising high and she needs to drop it, and I was like ok no worries. I was another min or two and then ask, hey should I get someone? And she says yes I'm having a medical emergency please grab my manager. So I step off the table naked (hoping no one is looking lol), grab my robe, see her lying on her back on the floor with legs elevated on her stool, then I run into the hall and say hey esthetician name is having a medical emergency and the manager and receptionist rush in. At this point I'm calling it and decide to cut my losses and go to the pool. Get the bikini on and am about to walk to the pool when the manager comes back in to ask if I want to continue the facial! I'm concerned this girl is going to pass out on me while I'm on the table, no thank you. She prob needs to go home! Why are you trying to have her work some more when she literally had a medical emergency, so I decline and ask again "is she actually ok?" Am told yes and then offered spf. At that point I go to the pool which was another horror story for another day. We return maybe 1 hr 45 mins later and are then told we will only get a partial refund bc the service was almost over, which I am not sure if this is accurate bc I was naked on a table with my eyes closed, not staring at my watch. At this point my flabbers are gasted. My bday was lame. I would expect a spa anywhere to offer a refund for a service that was not completed due to not fault of my own and if they really wanted to be nice, provide a credit to come back and actually experience a proper facial and jacuzzi. Or even offer to pay for a drink! Long story short, don't recommend coming here. read more

This is a small but beautiful spa located inside the Westin hotel. I've only had great massage therapists here and appreciate all of the ambience, the robe, slippers. There is really only one small room to change which is shared with the bathroom water closets so if you prefer privacy to get into your robe one can find a space in the water closet or a room with curtains. Currently valet parking is your only option until the Corp of Engineers finish the levee reinforcement which should be towards the end of 2024. read more

Went as a spa group of friends to celebrate a birthday. Our spa coordinator, Amberea, was awesome in booking our services, very communicative, and prompt with updates, reminders and revisions. On the day of our appointments, they were attentive to us before and after our services. I stepped out of my massage where they handed me a cup of water in the wellness room right away. Their outdoor jacuzzi, dry sauna and sitting area was clean and relaxing, as well as fun for my group of 6. The hotel pool and jacuzzi area was an option also, but the spa's Wellness area was perfect for us. They gave us complementary champagne for a toast for the birthday celebration. The Meditation room is serene and the slight fragrance is calming. The changing room is clean and spacious. I had the 50 minute Meditative service which was nice, but it ended just as my body started to really relax. I couldn't tell which massage technique was being used on me since their Meditative is not specific. All six of us in my group enjoyed our massages. read more

After many dinners at Scott's, getting married at the LeRivage Hotel and a couple of overnight stays I finally was able to obtain services at Spa La Le. Due to the recent special on Groupon or was it Living Social ??; I was able to afford a massage here. Ambiance- 4.5 stars. . Yes it is small, but this is an intimate hotel. You can't expect them to take half a wing for it's spa. The locker room is small and so is the meditation room but it is so beautifully decorated that I didn't mind. Neutral colors, nice fluffy robes, nice smelling, candles, feels like an elegant spa atmosphere. Service- 4.5 stars I had to change my appointment time a couple times and add my gf on for a facial.Each time I called they were friendly and accommodating. Check in was pleasant, and I appreciated the attendant showing us around. It was too cold for the hot tub and pool and apparently the steam room was being serviced. Complimentary valet is a nice touch as well. Massage-5 stars One of the best massages I have had in a long time. I can't remember my masseuse name but she was very friendly, professional and delivered a great massage. I wish it didn't have to end. I appreciate relaxing massages, slightly more than a Swedish but not deep tissue. This was the perfect touch. I wish it didn't have to end. Will definitely frequent again. I am waiting for another Groupon Special and for warmer weather so I can take advantage of the pool and spa and enjoy happy hour in the restaurant in the early evening. I loved everything about my experience at Spa LaLe from booking my service to the very end of my time spent there! Here's a rundown: I booked my service (the 80 minute Wellness Massage-- a mixture of several different techniques) a week out. I received a very friendly call from the front desk the day before my service to confirm, and to instruct me to use the valet; as they validate! It's so nice getting that extra accommodation at no additional cost. I was also told I could check in 15 minutes early and enjoy the meditation room-- so I DEFINITELY hopped on THAT bandwagon! Upon arrival I was greeted by a very pleasant receptionist and escorted to the locker room. You're given your own locker and shown how to program your own pin. There are several private bathroom stalls in the locker room, a nice shower, and lots of little toiletries available to enjoy. I was given a robe and flip flops to wear. After I was done changing, I was escorted to the Meditation Room. Simple in its design, it is definitely relaxing. Several places to sit, magazines, a private deck with a jacuzzi and steam room. Very nice. There are also snacks and refreshments available prior to, and after, your service that are located in the hall outside of the meditation room. My massage therapist greeted me in the meditation room and escorted me to where I would be receiving my service. She was very sweet and seemed to take the time to listen to where I needed the most attention. The massage itself (the Wellness Massage) was WONDERFUL. I absolutely LOVED the multiple techniques used-- and so did my stressed out body. And I DO mean stressed. I have a newborn at home. The warm towels, the hot stones, the Swedish movements... LOVE. After my service, my massage therapist provided me with a delicious glass of water and offered to escort me back to the meditation room or to the locker room. The fact that you are always being escorted and not simply sent in a general direction is a testimony to their customer service. You pay more for services here that you could (technically) find elsewhere, but I absolutely recommend Spa Lale; as you get so much more Jan just a service or treatment... you get a tranquil EXPERIENCE. PS: a sensor in my car went out that prohibited my car from starting. It became a whole ordeal, and I was stranded at the Westen Valet area for quite some time. The Valets were INCREDIBLE! They tried to jump my car, and then offered me a shady spot to wait in and as many bottles of water as I needed when that didn't work. This facility has really changed since I last visited. There was a remodel and one of the best features, the heated benches in the waiting room, were removed. I was so disappointed to see this. It is not a welcoming nor warm space, at all. It's sterile and cold; I felt as if I was in my dentist's waiting room. In fact, I was literally cold too. Previously, I enjoyed lounging with friends here, but now I don't think it's so conducive to that. It cheapens the experience, but the prices for services don't reflect it. It's still as pricey, but now I have a hard time justifying. Such a mistake as optics and feeling are everything in places of relaxation. read more

My husband and I came in recently for his birthday/our anniversary for a couples massage. I was a little hesitant to book because of the recent bad reviews but since we were staying at the Westin and having dinner at Scott's, we figured we would give it a chance - and we are so happy we did! The amenities were decent but the star of the show was the massages! Each of our masseuses were perfect for what we wanted! They were very skilled in our opinion and really helped us relieve the tension we hold in our backs. They were professional, attentive and very nice to us. There were only two things that rubbed us the wrong way: -The spa could have used some love. It smelled really weird. -Really catty women also using the amenities made us feel a little uncomfortable. Neither of those really affected how happy we were with our massages, however. We will definitely return and look forward to when we do! read more

After several years a few things have changed at SDpa Lale. Companies are going through several changes and either have to close some of their stores such as Wal-Mart, Macy's, KMART or file bankruptcy but whatever the process Spa Lale has decided to make their spa amenities co-ed except for the locker rooms. We didn't expect this and was not prepared even with a bathing suit. It was strange to see a guy relaxing next to you on the meditation room, steam room or in the Jacuzzi . All of the treatments are great but even if you purchased five or six services (for two days) there are no volumes discounts and no discount with the Spa even if you stay in the hotel for more than three days. Regardless some of the wonderful treatments were the facials and the Wellness Duo (scrub and body wrap); the massages were nothing to write home about especially if you've been accustomed to a great deep massage. Next time due to issues at the hotel we will forego staying at the hotel and maybe pass up the massages. She apologized and told me their website isn't phone compatible and sent me their spa menu via email. I was already impressed by her customer service. I called her back 10 minutes later and booked a customized couples massage for my boyfriend and I. I had the 50 minute LaLe blend, a blend of their signature deep tissue, Swedish and hot stones. My boyfriend got the 50 minute sports therapy/deep tension massage. My masseuse's name was Sabrina and she was amazing. She got all my target areas and her pressure was perfect. After our massage we stayed awhile and relaxed in the hot tub. I even decided to pamper myself some more and got my eyebrows done. The spa is small and intimate, nothing compared to the big resort spas that I'm used to. It's not a big deal for me. I'm def. coming back. I received a gift certificate from my two daughters for a Spa Day. I was finally able tomake an appointment for an 80 minute Wellness Massage. My massage therapist was Tessa. Normally when I have had massages at a hotel spa, they usually are pretty weak even if I ask for deep tissue. So I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I mistaken! Tessa asked me what my pressure prefereance was, and she delivered. Amazing! Very small, NOT Clean, broken fixtures in the locker room, tacky/sterile/uncomfortable and literally cold "meditation lounge" (what a joke to even call it that) , rude front desk staff, ripped and holey sheets AND towels (had to ask 3 times for a new towel before I received one that didn't have a hole or stain). My massage was decent, the only OKAY part of my experience, facial was awful.. My wife and I celebrated our 2nd Anniversary at Le Rivage, the beautiful hotel within which Spa Lale is located. Of course, no such celebration would be complete without a couples massage, so that's exactly what we did. The service was wonderful. I really didn't give them much heads up as I frantically called the hotel at 9 in the morning scrambling to make an appointment for later that afternoon. The front desk took down my information and a charming person from the spa contacted me shortly after 11. They could fit my wife and I for a 75 minute couples massage at 1:30 PM. Perfect, I thought, and made the appointment. We arrived a little bit early, looked through their menu of services and we both opted for the LaLe signature blend massage, a hybrid massage with deep tissue, traditional, and hot stones. While the 75 minutes whizzed by, the masseuse rubbed and massaged our poor muscles so expertly that we both felt relaxed and rejuvenated after the treatment. They have a wonderful Meditation room to which they lead you before and after your treatment. You can lounge there, relax, and simply peace out. The decoration is absolutely stunning throughout the spa. Even the locker room is beautiful and opulent. Truly getting a treatment here will make you feel like royalty. read more

In the meditation room that they take you to before you get started, they had sparkling cider, chocolate covered strawberries, cheese platter, cookies, fruits, and optional champagne. Employees of Spa Lale were great. But perhaps I'm a spa snob. I like to be able to utilize the Spa facility before and after my service but the facilities at Lale were not great. It's a small place with a heated stone sitting room. The stones were covered with cushions so the heat did not really come through. The hot tube is outside so I would have need to change into my swimsuit in order to use it. The dry sauna is also outside. It was not working. I had to turn it on myself but it took 10 minutes to go from 105 degrees to 106. I gave up after 15 minutes of sitting there. I'm glad I only spend for the special promotion. For the cost of regular treatment, I would prefer to go somewhere with more amenities. read more

So when you have kids you pretty much never go on a vacation. Unless you come here. With any treatment you get to lounge by the pool (oh and swim in it of course), dip into the salt water jaccuzzi and steam in the sauna. Plus there is this cool relaxation room with a heated platform that I totally fell asleep on. There are yummy snacks (apples, almonds, brownies and granola bars) to munch on and many teas to drink. I ordered some food from Scott Sea Food and they bring it to you by the pool - hello it's almost like being on vacay. This is my new place to come for a staycation away from the kids. I only had the facial and it was very nice. Their shower room is spacious and really clean with everything you need. I used to be a big fan of Arden Hill but this is my new spa spot. Plus during the week (think it's Tu - Th) all Sac residents get an additional discount! The one star off is from their flat iron (circa 1989) which burned my forehead and 3 weeks later the scar is still visible :( read more

First off, this is my first YELP review. And after reading a lot of reviews for places I've decided to jump in. When you walk in, the two women (especially Desiree?) were incredibly wonderful. They were friendly and inviting. We were laughing and relaxed before we even signed in. My facial by Jessica was absolutely divine. The scents, the arm and hand massage (yes, in my facial), the calming music, all of it was wonderful. She didn't do a great extraction job (said I didn't really need it), but it was more of a relaxing facial. i would have liked more extraction, but you could probably ask for more. The downside: My massage was a killer. This is my fault I asked them to do a deep tissue. But this woman was a bear. I thought the woman was trying to kill me. I am so surprised I was able to walk afterwards. Also, the robes were horrible. They smelled, didn't look especially clean, and were very small. While waiting in the meditation room a man crossed his legs (he was average build) and let's just say he shared a lot. The shoes were small and uncomfortable, also. Why 4 stars? The atmosphere was wonderful (not as nice as Claremont in Berkeley, but also not as expensive). And the people were friendlier. The hotel was great. I can deal with all of this because I felt so good. It felt like a very welcoming, relaxed, nonjudgemental environment. I got an 80 minute pure relaxation massage and it was amazing. The spa changing room was well stocked with tons of goodies, robes, sandles, shampoo, hair spray...I went to the relaxation room for 20 min. before the massage at it was great. They had a sauna and salt water jacuzzi outside but I didn't have my swimsuit. The massage tables were much more plush then the normal massage place. They use great smelling essential oils for the massage then use hot towels to remove the excess oil. The therapist was amazing! When I left I was soooo relaxed! This place is good, but not great. If they paid a little more attention to the small details then it could be amazing. First, you have to provide a credit card to book your appointment. Unfortunately I had to cancel my original appointment due to a death in my family, and I canceled before the 24 hour mark. However, my card was still charged and I had to call several times to get it corrected. Normally I would not have come back, however I did have a gift certificate and it is non-refundable so I booked another appointment 5 months later. When I booked the second appointment the receptionist could not answer basic questions. Also, I called back to see if I should bring a bathing suit and she replied that I should if I wanted to use all the services. She should have told me when I booked the appointment, how am I suppose to know what they offer when I have never been there before? When I got there they were really nice but again there was more confusion in the locker room. They lead me back to the meditation room while I waited and it was really relaxing. Sabrina gave me a great message and I will probably go back just to see her again. There were a lot of comments on yelp about the snacks and mimosas they provide, but nothing other than plain water was ever offered to me. I did see a display of snack in the hallway, but again I didn't know if they were part of the service or not. The space is small but very welcoming and everything is very clean. This will be the only place that I get a massage... full stop. It's a pleasant location and has very welcoming staff, but the main reason I keep coming back is because of Victoria, the masseuse! Everyone has a very personal preference as to how they like their massages, and I have found my perfect match in Victoria. She gives me the 'Swedish Massage' which is less digging into tense muscles (deep tissue) but an overall, body adjustment. Somehow she works perfectly on my shoulders to loosen their tightness along with my hips, that are sore from miles of running. She seems to work some sort of magic upon my skeleton and I feel taller once I hop off her table. I haven't had any of the other services here, but can recommend Victoria with glowing praise (and thanks!). read more

My boyfriend and I came here on the 14th and it was absolutely amazing! We both left feeling satisfied and relaxed. They really make you feel comfortable and everything is clean. The only downside was that when my boyfriend and I were in the meditation room waiting for our appointment to begin there was an AWFUL couple in there. They seemed surprised to see us and the woman was scoffing and rolling her eyes at us and then they left and walked out. I don't know why they had an such an entitled attitude but it was horrid. Overall, my experience was ok. I had higher expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facility was extremely clean. However, the size of the locker room was small. As mentioned in another review, there are only 2 bathroom stalls, 3 sinks, and one shower. There were only 3 ottomans to sit on in the locker room and at one point there was myself and another woman in there changing. It felt really upclose and personal, a little awkward. The meditation room was nice and cozy. They had light snacks out in the hall and I was also offered a mimosa, which I accepted and went out to the patio to relax and dip my legs in the hot tub before my massage. I went back after my massage and stayed in the hot tub for about a half hour. That was absolutely nice! My massage...well, it was ok. My massuse asked me all the right questions before the massage, what part of the body I wanted her to focus on, the type of pressure I liked, etc. A few minutes into the massage she asked how the pressure was and I told her that she could apply more pressure as I like having deep tissue massages. I suppose she deepened the pressure, but I would have liked more. Couldn't she feel all the stress and tight muscles?? Needless to say, I left still wanting more and still feeling a little tight in my right shoulder and back. Will I go here again? I was looking for a spa for little girls similar to Spa La Di Da(west hollywood) and had no luck. I wanted to give my daughter a true spa experience and with the mini facials and mani/pedi I think it was very successful. This party was unforgettable due to Danielle's enthusiasim and her attentive team... 5 stars in 2009. It has been 2 yrs since this experience and Danielle is no longer there. Unfortunately, they have a new manager and trying to plan a party this year for my youngest daughter who turned 8 was less than pleasant. Very friendly staff, I love the heated bench in the meditation area.
