Long story follows: Interstate restored my 1970's era 34 unit apartment to better than new, but when the fire first happened I didn't know what to expect, or who to call. Thankfully the calm, informative representative from Interstate impressed me more than the aggressive and not so bright reps from the other restoration companies, (who all came out as the 2-alarm fire was being shown on the news!) As things spooled up, a variety of sources confirmed to me that Interstate is known as one of the better restoration companies (and that they're not all so reputable). Each person I've worked with at Interstate has had years of experience. They have a deep roster of contractors and suppliers who have proven to do good work. The project manager was well respected by all of the tradespeople, and he kept them and their construction schedules (and inspections) well coordinated. The regional director was my contact for all of the paperwork (sheaves of it) and he was very skilled at navigating and balancing costs with doing the right thing by both me and the insurance company. There are a lot of details, and communication at all levels was frequent and clear. All of the workers and subcontractors were above-average to great. I "trust, but verify" as a rule, and had an excellent non-adversarial public adjuster who charged less than his normal percentage because he didn't foresee many problems with Interstate or the insurance company. Interstate has been fair and above-board, and there is a prevailing attitude that they will not leave a finished product that they might be ashamed of later. Where there were a few minor discrepancies of what was there before versus what they put back in, they quickly rectified it within the pre-agreed scope of work. Where things could be improved, they were - mostly within the funds from insurance but in rare occasions on my dime - and with quality and at a fair price. The end result has been a fully repaired (and much improved) home for my tenants. It was a pleasure to work with such honorable folks, and I certainly recommend Interstate highly.

My place of employment recently had a catastrophe involving a broken toilet that occurred over a…read moreweekend. Team K (admittedly selected in a panic) was on site less than 45 minutes after I called them, and did a fabulous job handling our immediate issues, including working around our schedules and business needs. I did have one minor issue, which I shared after getting a "How're we doing?" type of feedback request, so often seemingly ignored by businesses once submitted. I heard back from the owner/president that same day, sincerely apologizing for the issue, and ensuring me he would sit down with the people involved and use it as a training opportunity. What a fabulous response! And then, a few days later, I got a hand-written follow-up, including a gift card to buy lunch for our staff! My own experience was 4 star, but based on the response I got, I feel comfortable saying yours will very likely be 5! And if it isn't initially, you can rest assured they'll do everything possible to make it right. Kudos to Team K!

Note: we did work with Team K in 2022, so I am really late in writing in this...and the whole world had a lot of turnover in 2022, so this might have changed. The different parts of the business are very different...the damage treatment is a 4 to 5 star operation...the reconstruction is a 2 star, so that's why I'm giving them a 3. They did come out promptly and the owner is very nice. The quality of their work also greatly varies. The job manager said that on a scale of 10, his guys "are 6s and 7s, but the great thing is that always come back and fix up what they might have missed". If you have an emergency leak that needs water damage treated, they are great at that. When it comes to the construction to repair/place (install new floors, trim, etc...there are better and less expensive options around.

We had a flood in our basement due to a massive rain and hail storm. We called them the day of the storm, and they were at our house the next morning. His team was professional and helpful in getting fans and dehumidifers going in our home and within a few days our soaked basement was dry as a bone. They did demo work for us pulling out drywall and baseboards, and left the home as clean as possible when they were done. Effrem even went above and beyond with a small issue we had. I would recommend them to anyone that has a flood in their home. I hope I don't need to call them again, but if I do have another flood, I would call Effrem again for sure. He was very fair and ethical in our interactions, and even suggested calling a third party if we wanted to do any further testing as they would have a conflict of interest. 10/10 recommend.

We had a metal door leading to our deck, and the internal lock mechanism failed while in the locked…read moreposition. Even after removing the handles and hardware, the door wouldn't budge. I reached out, and Roni showed up within an hour with a smile and ready to work. He immediately knew what needed to be done. After some tough maneuvering, he was able to remove the broken locking mechanism and replace it. In about 30 minutes, the door was fully operational again. Roni was attentive, polite, and incredibly skilled -- all while our two dogs barked and ran around. The value he delivered was exceptional: fast response, expert work, and a fair price. We needed a locked replaced. We arranged to have him at our home in one hour. He was prompt. Extremely friendly. Chatted with my husband. Worked efficiently, neatly. When he finished my husband asked him about re-keying a couple of our other locks. What would be the price, when could we schedule? He gave us a quote. We agreed. He re-keyed those locks right then. The larger companies tended to outsource work to other small movers that had terrible reviews or thin histories, and the risk of unknown players employing random hirelings was not worth a marginally lower price. Our piece of mind in knowing that a single crew would be accountable for the entire job was crucial. It was great for us to build a rapport with one team who both picked up our whole house and delivered it to in Vegas. We had lots of vintage furniture and art, and we knew we needed some extra help to ensure that items were carefully wrapped, stacked, and packed onto the truck. Although they were busy with many other burst pipe cleanup calls due to the extreme cold weather we had just experienced, Chase was at our home within an hour of my initial call. He immediately put my mind at ease and developed a game plan to return things back to normal. Chase and Anthony visited each day for a week to check on progress, move equipment around and gave me updates along the way. We went through our insurance company on a damages and they sent out PuroClean for the estimate…read more The estimate overlooked multiple items that needed repair and they had to go back and forth to readjust which delayed the project. After I had sent the the flooring selection they had attempted (possibly an honest oversight) to install lesser quality flooring in a completely different shade that I had sent them. Had I not caught it, it would have been in stalled. I was given multiple assurances that the project would be finished in time so that our tenant would not be homeless. Needless to say that deadline was not met 4 months after the water damage on a project that was not huge. Communication started great until we started to just be told what we wanted to hear without any follow through. I would not recommend working with this company at all.
