Our HOA hired this company after a fire in a shared condominium building. The initial estimate of return to live was 3-4 months. It has now been 7 months with no definitive end date and homeowners are about to be homeless since they told insurance companies 3-4 months and they have horrible communication. There is trash everywhere as well as nails left all over our front and back decks. Please, HOAs, I know they are cheap but there is a reason for that. Please protect your people and hire a more reputable company. read more

Short story: 5 Stars. I am grateful for the competence, capability and integrity of the people at Interstate Restoration. Long story follows: Interstate restored my 1970's era 34 unit apartment to better than new, but when the fire first happened I didn't know what to expect, or who to call. Thankfully the calm, informative representative from Interstate impressed me more than the aggressive and not so bright reps from the other restoration companies, (who all came out as the 2-alarm fire was being shown on the news!) As things spooled up, a variety of sources confirmed to me that Interstate is known as one of the better restoration companies (and that they're not all so reputable). Each person I've worked with at Interstate has had years of experience. They have a deep roster of contractors and suppliers who have proven to do good work. The project manager was well respected by all of the tradespeople, and he kept them and their construction schedules (and inspections) well coordinated. The regional director was my contact for all of the paperwork (sheaves of it) and he was very skilled at navigating and balancing costs with doing the right thing by both me and the insurance company. There are a lot of details, and communication at all levels was frequent and clear. All of the workers and subcontractors were above-average to great. I "trust, but verify" as a rule, and had an excellent non-adversarial public adjuster who charged less than his normal percentage because he didn't foresee many problems with Interstate or the insurance company. Interstate has been fair and above-board, and there is a prevailing attitude that they will not leave a finished product that they might be ashamed of later. Where there were a few minor discrepancies of what was there before versus what they put back in, they quickly rectified it within the pre-agreed scope of work. Where things could be improved, they were - mostly within the funds from insurance but in rare occasions on my dime - and with quality and at a fair price. The end result has been a fully repaired (and much improved) home for my tenants. It was a pleasure to work with such honorable folks, and I certainly recommend Interstate highly. read more

Terrible, terrible company. My HOA hired them after a pipe was leaking in my unit. So here's what they needed to do: dry out the kitchen area, repair pipe, fix drywall, replace flooring (300 sq. ft.), countertop and cabinet. And it took them three and a half months to "finish" the job. Communication was poor, and there was always an excuse as to why my phone calls weren't returned, why they didn't show up for the job that day, etc. They never cleaned up the mess that they made, leaving mud in the bathroom, plaster in the bathroom etc. Never vacuumed after working, so I was constantly coming home to a disaster. They finally "finished" and I saw a couple cosmetic flaws (damaged drywall, poor paint job etc) that I decided I'd fix myself, because I was so sick of dealing with them. Months later, I start having major ant problems. I've lived in this unit for 4 years, and have never seen an ant. I start watching the ants to determine where they are coming from. When they put new flooring down, they failed to actually seal it against the outside wall, leaving a gap 3/4 inch wide exposed to the brick of the building and sub floor, and ants were streaming in. I failed to notice this earlier, since it's hidden by the baseboard heater. So I get some caulk and do it myself. No ants. Few days later, they're streaming in again. Pull the oven out to discover that the flooring is not flush with the wall or cabinets, nor sealed. Poor work, terrible communication, and nobody knows how to clean up after themselves. read more

All I've wanted was to get my home fixed after a sanitary sewer pipe leaked and destroyed the carpet. Interstate ripped out some drywall and carpet and forgot about the job for nearly four months. Then after I called and complained they sent me a bill for $4700.00 and my basement is still destroyed. Communication is terrible, cant say much about the quality because no work has been done in four months, responsiveness is terrible, I've called and asked for a manager to call back, still no call back from Drew. Then Jeremy an estimator that works there accused me of insurance fraud and soliciting interstate to fraudulent behavior 4 months after the job started. Quite possibly the most ridiculous behavior I have ever had to deal with. They are also overcharging and completely fabricating every level of there estimates including time spent at the residence which I believe is the real insurance fraud. Not sure who is actually in charge of that circus down there at Interstate but I wouldn't recommend anyone to have to deal with there absence of customer service. My recommendation is RUN as far away from Interstate as possible. Hire someone that can take pride in customer service. All Interstate cares about is getting there money and not quality or customer service. They are quick to demolish your home but when it's time for reconstruction they are nowhere to be found. I have fixed several cars for this company and saved them thousands and this is their way to show me how appreciative they are for all of my hard work. read more

User beware. I want people to be aware that interstate has sloppy workmanship and are very unprofessional when it comes to fixing their mistakes and getting the job done right the first time. Due to the recent fires in Colorado it only seems right to warn people about this company. Since the wild fires have left so many people with their homes completely destroyed along with all of their belongings the last thing they need is to have a nightmare like mine in dealing with interstate. It hasn't even been a year since they have finished the job and I have already had to fix their mistakes out of my pocket since I refuse to let them in my house in fear of them doing more harm than good. I recommend using a company that your insurance company refers so that there is quality control by an even larger company. I would also like to add the fact that my neighbor used interstate to repair her house after a storm caused severe damage and she had similar experiences to me. read more
