The entire team at ACE Radon is absolutely outstanding! We received high results from our home inspection (28pCi/L) and were really worried about mitigation. Our account manager Jennifer got a technician out within 48 hours to do a proper inspection in order to start a plan for mitigation and allow us to feel better about moving forward with the property. Her plan included a thorough and detailed approach, and from start to finish she was available via email and phone to answer all of our questions. She took full accountability when there was a scheduling hiccup and worked to ensure that the re-schedule happened the next day. Can't ask for better customer service than that. Andrew, our technician, was extremely knowledgable, capable, and thorough with how he installed the mitigation system. He went above and beyond and educated us on the different components and why he made the choices he made. He sealed all of the cracks in an entire basement and to be honest, it looks much better than it did before. The work was impeccable. Finally, Brian was prompt to drop off and pick up the post-mitigation tests. We decided to do 3 tests throughout the house - and they all came back less than 1pCi/L!!! We hired them to install a radon mitigation system, which they did an excellent job on. Our technician, Nick, gave very good explanations of all the work to be done and was careful to make the system as unobtrusive as possible. The fan is outside and very quiet; you can barely hear it even 3 feet away. The exhaust pipe looks like a gutter drain and fits in well with the house. They originally bid the job sight unseen, and reduced the bid after Nick had seen the site and revised the work order. As other reviewers have noticed, they are aggressive about demanding payment; it's due upon completion, and they really mean it. We gave the technician a check for the full amount upon completion, but their office billed us the next day anyway. read more

They installed my radon mitigation system back in 2018 and came highly recommended then. I contacted them when I noticed the system may be failing. They agreed to come out, and we scheduled a time. Then I contacted them when no one showed, and we rescheduled, and again no show. I keep canceling plans to be home for them to come, and no one shows. read more

Karl took the time to explain what radon actually is and how it can affect a person's health! He further explained how the system that he installed works to mitigate that radon to a manageable level. He explained what I should do if there are any future problems with the system or if the radon levels do not lower after the allotted time. Two reasons for a 1 star. First, the final price was double their estimate. Unpleasant surprise. Not something I would expect from a seasoned professional. Second ... super aggressive billing tactics. 3/13 - Work done 3/24 - Partly paid during closing. Why not 100% paid, I don't know. 3/26 - Received final invoice for balance. 3/30 - Pay balance, sent email with bank's confirmation number & bank's estimate the check would arrive on or before April 6. 4/1 - Receive email from Ace Radon saying I'm "**OVERDUE" and requesting a credit card payment. Let that sink in ... I paid 4 days after receiving their final invoice. 17 days after they performed their work. They should have known they were paid as I emailed my bank's bill pay confirmation number and the check's estimated arrival date. HERE IS THE KICKER: Yet, they still put me in "**OVERDUE" status. Wow. For those that pride themselves on integrity & honest dealing, let that sink in. Super aggressive. Ace Radon, I will never recommend you. Goodbye. read more

I received several quotes from other companies and chose ACE radon because they had amazing reviews, a better price than anyone else, and some of the best customer service that I've ever had! Shout out to Leigh Ann Schieffer! She helped me from start to finish and I probably chose ACE in the end because she was so incredibly friendly and helpful. The technician who came out to my house explained everything to me very clearly and we found the best place to put a mitigation system. I haven't check my radon levels yet, but they guarantee levels below 3.9, which is lower than the standard! I was over 10 and they assured me that it wouldn't be a problem to get it significantly low. The system itself is MUCH nicer than others I've seen. Their pipes are more efficient than the industry norm AND thinner, so it actually looks sleek. I can't even see the pipe from inside unless I look into the furthest corner of my basement window. Their fan housing and other parts are the same white color as the pipes! Not grey or black like others. Overall, I'm beyond satisfied and I would recommend ONLY ACE radon to anyone looking for radon mitigation. I still have the free post mitigation test running so I'll know the results soon, but I feel very secure knowing that they will make things right if I'm not satisfied. This was such an important decision for my family as we value our health most of all and aesthetics are very important to us as well. The Radon levels in my home were 5.9 and 4.6 in the basement and first floor, respectively. (A level of 4 indicates a problem.) Four months after ACE Radon did their work, the Radon levels fell to 0.6 and 0.5. I couldn't ask for better results. These people really know what they're doing. Hats off to ACE. read more

I hired ACE Radon to perform radon testing during the home inspection phase of a home purchase. They quickly setup a machine and ran a 2 day test (hourly samples) and emailed me the results. The home averaged 16 pCi/L that ranged from 6 to 23 pCi/L. The EPA mitigation recommended level is 4 pCi/L (Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking). I then hired them to install a mitigation system and retest. A gentleman came out one day to find a good installation spot and discuss the process with me. Then we easily scheduled an install day. The installation went smoothly (in less than a day). They even managed to squeeze it into a wall that had a small access hatch! Out of sight and near silent operations (by a bedroom). The test result after a month of operation was 3.8 pCi/L. As a follow up, I hired them to perform a long term radon test (9-12 months) so we can check for any seasonal changes (very inexpensive). Work was scheduled for 8 AM April 4th, 2018. Matt showed up a little be that time. Great!! No waiting for someone to show up late. I was surprise that Matt was alone, as we had an almost 600 sq ft crawl space to be covered with a plastic ground cover, in addition to installing the radon mitigation system. I thought that the job would take almost eight hours. He assured me that he would be done by noon. He went right to work. He worked rather quietly and efficiently. I hardly knew he was in the house. There was a lot of work to be done. Just before noon he told that the work was completed. I was very surprised. He showed me what he had done and how the system worked. BE WARNED! ACE Radon will try every blame and scare tactic to avoid honoring their warranty. First, they tried to say it was OUR fault their system wasn't working because we "didn't test frequently enough," which is just ridiculous and also NOT a condition of the warranty. Next, they tried to impose the rules of their NEW "phased approach" warranty on us which our warranty pre-dates and, frankly, is a scammy workaround in-and-of-itself. Then, they tried to scare us away by "consulting with their lawyers." Well, we have a lawyer too, and he confirmed the warranty was cut-and-dry and ACE was just trying to weasel out of their responsibility. And finally, the moment ACE found out we had engaged a lawyer, they sent us a full refund even though we didn't ask for it. Why? Because they were just playing chicken. They knew we would win in court and wanted to cut their losses. This is NOT how a company with integrity does business. Steer clear of ACE Radon. read more

Both times I had rearranged my work day to accommodate meeting them at the house. They did finished the job and the installation looks good. I called up Ace Radon based on reviews and their BBB rating. My radon mitigation fan was making a tremendous amount of noise. The people from Ace came out and told me I needed a new fan and recomended that I replace the ventilation pipe as it did not extend up to the roof line. PROS: Extremely nice, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and patient. Willing to negotiate slightly on the cost. CONS: Price. I called up another local company and they were able to do it for roughly 1/3 the cost. Do yourself a favor and get a couple of quotes before you do anything! read more

So we bought our house a few years ago and it already had a radon system. In April of 14 I noticed the fan wasn't working anymore so I started looking into buying one and I decided to call ace since they installed the original system, to my surprise they replaced the fan under warranty free of charge, the guy was friendly and in and out. Last week the fan went out again so we called ace again, I know this was no fault of theirs, I'm an electrician and I think it was just a bad motor from the factory. Anyway the guy that came this time was awesome, he replaced the fan, checked the rest of the system and got on the roof to put wire mesh over the roof jack, he even cared enough to paint it to match our roof. The office people are friendly and easy to work with too. Keep it up ace. read more

I recently bought a house and radon mitigation was done as part of the agreement before purchasing. ACE radon did the work. I did not own the house nor have access to the house at the time. I am not sure if it was there at the walk through or not, I did not notice, but i wasn't looking for a mess on the carpet either. I did not notice this until i received the keys and moved in ~10 days after the work was done. There was a mess of urethane caulking left over a 5-6 ft span on the carpet, as well as all over the cement in the area. ACE radon was receptive to emails/calls and i spoke to Jeff who claims they did not leave the mess. It IS their urethane caulking and Jeff's solution is to cut out chunks of my carpet. Jeff is stating that ACE radon did not leave the mess, and is blaming the owners of the house. Jeff stated that the caulking can be "wet" for months, and the owners must have done it after ACE left. If it is wet for long periods as ACE claims, then ACE should leave plastic down and warning signs not to touch it. They are supposedly licensed but have offered NOTHING to compensate the damage done, which i have sent them pictures of. All i know is i have urethane caulking in my carpet and there is nothing to do but replace the carpet or cut chunks of carpet out. Basically damage was done the owners say they didn't do it and ACE is saying they didn't do it. Its each word against the other and i'm left with damage. I didn't even own the house, nor have any access. The work appears to have been done good besides the urethane everywhere. Because of this damage and cost it will cost me to replace the carpet i cannot recommend this company. read more

I scheduled an appointment to replace a noisy fan or at least to see what could be done about the noise. They came out only to evaluate the noisy fan and would sent a quote. If they did the work part of the service call cost would apply to the bill. I was shocked when I saw the quote. To replace less then 10 feet of gutter pipe with 4" PVC pipe was $$$$ each dollar sign equals one hundred dollars. That was the only recommendation in regards to the fan. Since the system was installed as a real estate transaction it took effort but we were able to get the original installers to relocate the system away from the bedrooms. Upon request they also used PVC pipe instead of gutter pipe since PVC is less noisy. A new fan was also installed. Check around and compare! Though very polite I do believe this company likes to take you for your $$$$ read more
