I was in a little bit of a pinch because I had hired another Inspection company and when I called they said they just didn't have time. So I called Axium. They were able to get me a time within a few days. Michael Morgan was my inspector. He more than met my expectations. I got an amazingly specific report along with photos of each item. I was able to talk to him for a little bit during the inspection, but I ended up having to leave. I called the next day to get some additional information and he was happy to help. He was able to help me identify what things were a priority, and what things were just surface items. The information was concise and very helpful. They had a special going and I felt I got a really good price for all the work that they did. A solid three hours. It's also nice to have a link with a lot of photographs of my new home. It'll be a great reference in the future. He gave a lot of great pointers as well. I highly recommend this company. read more

Update: After I left a one star review, I was immediately contacted by someone on their behalf (very nice British gentleman) who immediately resolved my issues and followed up right away. Nice what a little communication can do to customer satisfaction. Original review: Zero stars. Run!! Admin is a clown show. They "accidently" cancelled my inspection same day. Great. They finally got an inspector out, but "forgot" pest control. Called again and they have no idea when pest control is coming. Great. The inspection report is ready but it wants me to pay - they cannot fix pay at close option. Great. I call again to say I will just pay via credit card (they charge an extra fee for that) they just need to send me the payment link. They say they will. They email me their liability insurance certificate and a pre-inspection checklist. Great. I have until today to tender by problems and still no report, no way to pay, and no pest control appt. Short story: I would look for another inspection company that actually stands behind their inspections as Axium does not. Axium can miss something that is blatantly obvious, which could potentially cost you a lot of money and they will only tell you to use their free home warranty they give you which you pay $250 to have the problem that was missed by the inspection diagnosed and then only $500 reimbursed from the home warranty thus netting you $250 towards your repair cost. Long story: We had a home inspection a couple months ago and felt very good after the inspection since we thought our inspector was very thorough. Unfortunately he missed a very big thing, a crack in our main line sewer drain. The crack was quite visible from the outside of the pipe, even from far away, so it should not have been missed as he did inspect the pipe only noting that there was some corrosion on the pipe and the extent of it should be checked by a plumber. The corrosion in question was from the actual crack on the pipe, so it had to have been there for quite some time to develop corrosion. When the inspector went over his findings with us after his inspection it was basically glossed over that there was corrosion on the drain pipe. Had he said there is a crack in the drain pipe, we would have been quite concerned and able to use this for seller credits or had the seller fix it prior to buying the house, but no mention of a crack. The crack was found by an HVAC engineer who came out to give us some quotes on HVAC related things after we had bought the house. I called Axium to tell them that their inspector missed the crack and they told me that it was noted as corrosion and to have it checked by a plumber. To have it covered we would need to submit a claim through the free home warranty that we got by using Axium. So I called the home warranty company and they charge $250 per claim to have someone come out, diagnose the situation, and then submit their estimate. The home warranty only covers up $500 of the fix, so basically we only received $250 worth of help to have something fixed that should have been caught by the Axium inspector and used in the home buying negotiations. The crack was a stress fracture cause by an offset of 5 inches which dealt stress on the pipe and thus it cracked at some point and developed corrosion due on the crack, which the plumber who fixed it told me. On top of this, the plumber subsequently found another problem that needed to be addressed, which would have been found by the sellers plumber had we known about this crack and had the seller fix it themselves. Now I don't expect the home inspector to have found this second problem, but like I said as our plumber to me, it would have been found had the seller had the pipe fixed in the first place, so we spent even more money. I called Axium again to tell them about their home warranty solution to get this covered and they still would not help in paying for having the cracked pipe repaired, which they missed in their inspection. I understand people make mistakes, but Axium can make all the mistakes they want and it will cost you, because they do not stand behind their inspections. read more

DO NOT USE THEM! I used them to install a radon mitigation system. Install was professional and quick, and they promised levels would be less than the EPA limit of 4 pCi/L. However, the levels never fell to below that level. I have a radon meter at home that measures radon levels, and levels averaged between 6-8 pCi/L range. I called twice to try to set up an appointment and left a message. No one ever called me back. On the third time of me calling, I finally was able to set up the appointment. They told me the appointment would be free since it was only 2 months from the install and the levels were still very high. However, after the fact they are now trying to charge me $150 and are refusing to back down on this fee. Edit: This has been resolved (hence the upgraded stars) but had to leave a review in order to get this resolved. read more

I've worked with axium for the last few years and it's disappointing how they treat their realtors/ clients. I've called over 25 times to the main office no answer, emailed the admin @ axium no answer & went to their office which is the incorrect address online. They are extremely irresponsible and irresponsible. The inspector acknowledged they broke our sewer cap which now leaks. They promised they would fix it and they went silent after requesting to have someone fix it. I would not recommend axium again. read more

Not a good start 2) The inspection itself was fine and not outside of budget. . .but you just get a list of "look into". The inspector was so concerned about covering his but I had no idea if any of the issues defined were most likely a problem; more than probably a problem. 3) With Axium you are pretty much hiring an inspector that then pushes on you a bunch of other services. Foundation crack? Try level 3. . .on and on. Unfortunately, Axium Inspections, specifically their inspections manager Michael Watt, is the most unprofessional, least customer-oriented company I've ever encountered. The inspector missed a significant and visually apparent broken feature in the condo that we learned about after closing because of Axium's mistake. After closing we had three professionals come out to evaluate the issue, and all three immediately and effortlessly found and identified the issue. Said issue is something that is explicitly covered in Axium's inspection report, but they failed to do their jobs and ended up costing us $750 as well as lots of time. When our real estate agent reached out about the issue, Axium proceeded to ignore us for over a week, and then Michael Watt claimed that the issue isn't something covered by their inspection. When we pointed out that their inspection report literally states the direct opposite, he again refused to take any accountability for his team's mistake or remedy the issue. The complete lack of accountability and the disrespect shown by this employee were unbelievable. We did not expect a refund (it would've been appreciated), but the absolute bare minimum they could've done is responded to us promptly and apologized for their massive oversight. I am the last person to write a crappy review on a business but the amount of things missed by the inspector on my house I bought in January 2021 is honestly crazy. I was told my inspector was top of the line and had many years in the industry. As i'm doing a bunch of renovations to the property, i'm seeing the ridiculousness of the issues he missed which would have saved me literally thousands of dollars on my purchase price. Below are the things he missed. - Gas Leak which caused me to vacate the property the very first day I arrived from California and sleep in the property with all of the windows open in the dead of winter so gas wouldn't fill the home while I was asleep - SEVERE Basement Foundation sloping in the corners, about 2 inches from high to low points. This is probably the biggest issue as I could have easily gotten multiple thousands of dollars worth of credits from the sellers because of this issue alone. Will cost me a few grand to repair and raise the levels to match in the basement - Multiple HVAC ventilation issues such as not even noticing that both upstairs and downstairs ceiling bathroom fan vents led to nothing. Literally the vents just sucked air up into the ceiling and attic, as well as the dryer vent. My HVAC technician mentioned he's surprised the dryer didn't cause a fire by now because all the lint was just being sucked into one place and didn't even vent out anywhere to the exterior of the property. And currently as I'm sitting here looking into one of the basement bedroom registers, the ductwork is literally not even connected to anything. It just flows thru the joists. If the inspector literally would have just shined a flashlight in the darn register, he would've seen this issue. - At least 3-4 electrical issues with my panel and interior issues with flickering lights, multiple things connected to one switch, etc. Again leaving negative reviews is not something I enjoy doing whatsoever, but the amount of things this guy missed is honestly just absurd. I was told Axium was the top of the line company in Denver, but that was absolutely not my experience and has easily cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket because of their mistakes and misses. read more

My friend told me great things about Axium so I called them with some questions but was thoroughly disappointed. This review is for the sales team & I think I might have spoken to an inspector as well. I don't ever leave a bad review without actually trying out a company but I didn't even get that far with Axium. I needed a home inspection company for a new construction. I explained that it's my first time getting a home built & friends have told me I would need a home inspector through the build process. The girl who picked up the call was friendly but didn't seem to know what to do except try to get me scheduled & stated she'll have someone come out. I had to explain that I'm having a home built & she stated that she can't do the inspection until the home is built. AGAIN I explained, I think I need someone throughout the whole build process. It came to a point where I had to ask for someone who had a bit more knowledge. She transfers me to Terret? Terrence? Who picks up the phone with a "hello" & no introduction so I explain myself again as to what I'm looking for. He tells me I'll need a pre-drywall, post-drywall, & some other inspection. I explained that I don't know what all this means & asked him to explain. This is where my frustration with Axium turns into annoyance. He starts off with a big sigh as if I just asked him a stupid question & starts explaining the differences rapidly. I was so annoyed that I told him never mind and had to hang up on him. First off, I'm looking for a home inspector because I DON'T KNOW anything about the process & was hoping for guidance. Secondly, I obviously need 3 inspections throughout the process & I would never hire or trust a company for not 1 but 3 inspections when they seemed annoyed to even explain what those inspections would entail. We started having power issues in our house, shortly after Axium installed the radon mitigation. We had an electrician come over to find out what was going on with our power. He found the radon system electrical box was full of water from the recent rains. Drained the water and fixed the system. That fixed our power issues. When I told Axium, they wanted to charge me $150 to come out and fix the system. First of all, I had already told them the system was fixed and second, there should not be a charge to come out and fix your mistakes. read more

Law needs to be changed in Colorado! These people are not even licensed inspectors. Every major item reported we called licensed contractors for and they all said home inspector has no clue what they are doing and reported false information. They are killing deals on home sales due to there lack of knowledge and or them trying to create more business. Also please note you need to train your employees how to speak to potential buyers, you aren't buying the house so you should have no opinion. I don't have experience with any other inspection service companies but overall, I think Axium did a very solid job. I rarely give 5 stars so this is equivalent to 4.5 stars. In a tight market, they are a big enough firm that they can be available quickly for inspections. I had two other firms on my list, as recommendations, but they weren't able to come out for a few days more so I chose Axium as my realtor really likes them. The inspection went smoothly and the inspector, Ron, was really easy to talk to and he did a good job reviewing issues with me. It is a 60's ranch that hasn't had ongoing maintenance so my report had a lot of issues. However, he was able to help me understand in order of importance, what would be considered safety issues vs. not. My only feedback areas: camera for sewer scope was not functioning so they had to come back out to complete that on a later date and then the tech forgot to upload the report so I had to call the office twice. Also, I didn't like the "salesy" approach up front...but they did cut some pricing to be competitive and get my service. It's a competitive market so I decided that I could tolerate an "aggressive" salesperson. :-) I would consider Axium again in the future. read more

Not only does Axium offer rigorous inspections, their customer service is simply outstanding. I pre-scheduled three inspections with them while making offers on homes, and despite having to cancel three times when my offers weren't accepted, Axium was nothing but understanding and encouraging. When I finally had an offer accepted for a 30 day close, at first I panicked because Axium's online scheduling system showed no availability in time for my inspection termination deadline. I called customer service, and the representative spent half an hour on the phone with me finding the right combination of certified inspectors to complete the inspections I needed in plenty of time for my deadline. At the same time she advised me about things in my order that weren't necessary given the specs of the property, which saved me hundreds of dollars. The inspector was very professional, thorough, and took the time to answer all of my questions. The inspection report was extremely detailed, and was paired with a helpful high-level summary report of the issues identified and recommendations to address each one. Their recommendations were all strongly supported by industry standards, current building codes, and legitimate scientific research regarding health risks. I ultimately had to terminate my first purchase contract due to information hidden by the seller, but I'm back to house hunting and will be using Axium again when I finally manage to find home sweet home. Pretty terrible experience with this company. I worked with Jerry, who was the coordinator for a radon mitigation system I needed installed. They brought in a sub to drill the whole into my crawl space, except they didn't measure the appropriate location for the hole (seriously how do you mess something this easy up???) and ended up drilling right into my pantry. They didn't even notice it, my wife came down to see WATER EVERYWHERE. They sent a "smoother" in to tell me that the giant whole in my floor joist was no big deal. When I insisted on having Axium reimburse me for an independent structural assessment, Jerry straight up ghosted me. I just received a random text from them saying the 'work was complete'. Jerry wont return my calls. Add one more piece of fun. They try to push this 3rd party service called Porch on you as a 'value-add'. I explicitly opted out of this multiple times, but Porch just called me anyways, which reminded me to write this review. read more

I contracted with Axium inspections to perform a buyer home inspection on a property I was under contract to buy. The entire experience was good, from scheduling to asking Axium beat the price from a competitor to the inspectors showing up on time. The inspection itself was good and the report arrived quickly. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5 is that Axium's inspection was significantly less thorough compared to another company (I had two inspections performed, with Axium being the second). This is less a criticism of Axium and more that the other company went above and beyond. The home portion of the inspection took a little under two hours (compared to over 3 from the other provider), and Axium's inspector either chose or wasn't allowed to inspect certain items. For example, while Axium inspected the main electrical panel, the inspector did not remove the faceplate to look at the actual wires and circuits underneath. As such, he could not tell me if the home had copper or aluminum wiring. The other company removed the face plate and discovered that there was copper wiring, but also that the individual breakers were mismatched, and that one of the incoming wires showed heat/charring damage. This information was very valuable when it came to making inspection objections. There were three or four other similar examples where Axium's inspection was more surface level compared to the other company. At the end of the inspection, the inspector went through his findings with me and answered all of the questions I had. Generally, both inspections found the same issues, which to me is a good indication that they did a good job. The inspection report produced by Axium was well laid out, with photos of not just the issues that were found, but of many of the other items. I will say that compared to the other inspection report, Axium's report contained more boilerplate descriptions and fewer comments that were written directly by the inspector, but overall the report was well written and easy to understand and reference. In addition to the home inspection, I also had radon testing performed and a sewer scope completed. I believe Axium contracted those out to another company, and the technician arrived about halfway through the home inspection. He did a great job with the sewer scope and the reports used the same format as Axium's. read more
