Complete scam. I had a home lockout. Used my cell phone to look up locksmiths for my zip code. Got a website falsely claiming that ASAP Locksmith was a local company (it apparently auto populates for any zip code provided). Called. Call center said they would have a "technician" call. 40 minutes later, someone wearing a shirt saying "24/7 Locksmith, 877-512-7722" arrives. I was quoted $15.00 for the service call, and $45.00 for the work over the phone. Some Israeli guy shows up, in a beat up red Ford Aveo (6NMH834), with extremely limited English, and as limited competency. Looks at my lock and says that for $145.00, he can open it without damage. Makes a feeble attempt to pick it, then tries to "bump" the lock, using a filed down key and a screw driver. 40 minutes later, says that he can't open it, but for $175.00 he will drill it. What he really does is rips the knob of the door off. Then tells me that for $225.00 (none of this counting the $15.00 fee), he will give me a "Kwikset" or a "Schlage" lock. At this point, I know I am being scammed. I ask to see his locks, which are generic locks, with no brand names, contained in the trunk of his car. They are all unmarked locks in boxes from "Bolt Security" - obviously cheap unbranded locks from a generic manufacturer. Demands cash or a credit card (no way I am giving this guy my credit card number). I pay the rip-off amount, send him on my way, and get a real locksmith to come out the following day, and install a new lock, in a tiny fraction of the time, and at less than half the price. ASAP Locksmith has no email or address on its website. 24/7 Locksmith has no website that I can see. Obviously a scam all the way around. Beware!!!! read more

The whole encounter was bad from the beginning. Two males came up to assist. One of their names was Eric. The first thing he asks is whether they told me how much it would be on the phone, which was pretty shady. Then he gave all my options and took my ID saying he'd hav me to hold on to it till the end of the transaction. Once they finished, which took less than a minute, they insisted I open the other door, even though I said I have no problems opening that door. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. Once I opened the door, they said I can pay cash or credit card, but with a credit card there's a 10% fee. That's absolutely ridiculous. Since I didn't have cash on me, he suggested paying with Venmo. The Venmo went directly to this Eric guy as opposed to the company. Then the best part was that they refused to leave till I opened the yelp app, put a 5 star and write "For Eric" in the comments. When you're alone at night with two guys hovering over you and refusing to leave, it becomes extremely unprofessional. Then when they left, they took my ID with them. I had to call them to come back and they were still in front of the house even though 5 minutes had gone by. I would never recommend this company to anyone and will report them to the BBB. read more

My wife and I called the locksmith technician to service a certain area and in our residence. The technician took far longer to reach our residence than expected (which is understandable given that there may be traffic delays or things of the like) but when the technician arrived he exclaimed that there were a plethora of additional charges that were not discussed over the phone. When we spoke over the phone the fee was 60$; when the technician arrived it somehow became 125$. That's a fairly outlandish (and oddly uncomfortable) price gap for a simple lock job. After a few choice words and exclamations making it quite clear that neither my wife or I were planning to pay that fee, the technician began to try and haggle the price as if this was some bidding service. In both calling the company and speaking to the technician the price dropped back down to the agreed upon figure which... is scary when you consider that they were willing to do a job that to them was worth nearly double what they did it for. As far as why they weren't honest to begin with I can not tell you. Lastly; I heard mention from a coworker that called this service that the company as the audacity to call clients and ask why they've left a bad review (as if in some way that will make them want to leave a better review). Taking a look at these reviews it's clear to me that many of them are fake as there are several 5 stars and a few scattered one and two stars that state the exact same encounter. I will be leaving this review on all forms of media to make sure it is know and I will keep up with the reviews for quite a while since this company feels it's okay to check in with their clientele if they are displeased with a review they have received. I would never recommend this company to any in my life, and I am installing cameras in my residence for the safety and well-being of my wife and kids given the nature of the company. Please do not take this review lightly as they may comment and state that you should disregard it (as I have witnessed as I scrolled past some of the more colorful reviews that are clearly inflammatory and fake). Call your landlord or change the locks yourself. This company is out to scam you. read more
