Every key I brought to these gentlemen for duplication worked beautifully on their respective locks when we tried them on an old condo in New Orleans the following weekend. My front door latch wasn't working from the outside but did work from the inside. After replacing the latch, the problem persisted. So, Tom the locksmith told me he could grind down the latch for a small fee or replace the entire lock and handle and matching handle on the adjacent door for a few hundred dollars. I took the much less expensive option of grinding down the latch, $60. Tom offered the service fee option and I didn't have to haggle with him. A new lock would probably have a longer life, but this door is seldom used since I enter the house from the garage. Tom provided all the options and didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. It's rare to find an honest person these days. So, thank you, Tom, and I suggest other Yelpers use him. read more

I called Neal's Key shortly before 8:00 this morning. Tom got my address and said he would be there within a 9:00-10:00 a.m. window. He showed up a little after 9:00. The job was a busted door handle to the guest bathroom that made it impossible to open the door from the inside. (I got locked in the other day and had to be let out by my wife.) It's one of those old-fashioned handles difficult of access. Tom told me at one point he thought he might have to take it into the shop. But he got it fixed perfectly, in a little under 20 minutes, and charged a price so low I had to ask him to repeat it as I thought I had heard incorrectly. Shout out to Tom of Neal's Key for coming out and installing a lock on my 89 year old mom's filing cabinet. I called Neal and explained that my mom has different caregivers in her home and I wanted to make sure her financial and personal paperwork was secure.
