Christian made me a copy of my key fob and saved me $100 & a few hours of waiting at the dealership awesome shop highly recommen!

Hands down one of the worst Lock Smiths I have been too. Came in to get a couple mail box keys duplicated and the Spanish guys attitude and demeanor from the beginning was just totally off and rude. I needed to get 2 sets of keys copied and while making them he was just frustrated. Only made one set that I dont even know will work or not, and then he came to a conclusion saying that my keys are way too warm out when ever They are COMPLETELY BRAND NEW KEYS, and he wont make them when he already made one set! Save yourself your time and go some where else that where they show appreciation coming into their business! Dont recommend this place! read more

Plaza Lock and Key - Phot of the store when you walk in - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Van Nuys, California

I visited there for key duplication. They did it quickly and cheaply. What else does someone want?

I had been a loyal customer for years but I was really disappointed with the service recently. I have been coming here since they were located in Panorama City and even drove out to their new location. I had ordered a replacement key fob from them in 2022, and around December 2024 it started failing. It started failing to lock and unlock and eventually the car stopped recognizing it. I came in and got a new replacement late January of 2025, where they offered me a small discount since it had been years since I purchased the first key. In September, only 8 months later and it's started failing again! I went in to see what they could do and they told me that their warranty was only around 2/3 months after purchase. I get that it's been a couple of months but come on, I spent so much on a key fob and the programming for it to fail a couple months after the warranty expires. They only offered a small discount but said I would ultimately have to order a new key and get it reprogrammed. I ended up going to a different locksmith who helped me out and they even ordered me a genuine Kia key fob! No wonder their keys were failing! They buy the cheapest keys yet charge an arm and a leg! read more

Was amazing help, did quick and easy!! I already had the uncut key and they were to duplicate it quickly.

Love this little gem. Gone there to get better quality keys made than you find at Home Depot. Friendly service, reasonable prices on the key copies, good hours, easy to stop from the street because there is a sign on the sidewalk, plenty of easy parking read more

UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner after the poor experience I had. It's clear that Tess truly cares about her business. The cause of the issue was with one specific employee, and they corrected the issue, as well as went above and beyond to get my keys made correctly. Thank you so much to Tess for all of your assistance!! read more

Really fast and accurate key replication at a more than fair price! Much better than those machines! Worth the trip

This company seemed very responsive , competent, and fair by e-mail from Yelp!-type response. I had a difficult car key fob remote duplication needed for my 2007 Saturn Vue. Granted, dealers and GM were unhelpful citywide. This company appeared to be able to do it, and be able to order after-market replacement parts. However, when I got there, got the impression that the locksmith did not know what he was doing. It was the first place I tried out of five that didn't even have a key blank that would fit my ignition from a working duplicate key. I was referred to a booth down the street in a very crowded parking lot. As to programming the remote, I told locksmith instructions called for latching all doors before programming from a scanner, but the day was hot and he didn't believe me and refused to try it. He did not offer to order replacement parts. read more

Excellent service, very professional group. Took care of my locks and gate services in a timely manner. Response time was quick. Highly recommend their services to others. read more

These guys are the BEST! As a business that has multiple employees that own keys to open & close shop, you can imagine how many times we have needed a locksmith in emergency situations. Their TAT is unmatched and their professionalism is what keeps them our main go-to locksmiths. I have referred them to so many friends and family as they do other work such as garage doors, alarms etc. Everyone we referred them was pleased with their work! read more

We needed bids, needed to move forward on the project, needed a 2nd bid, all required numerous follow up phone calls and emails to the company and never did get the service call or even call back to address the problems. Waste of time. Look elsewhere. read more

In and out in less than 5 minutes. There was no line and I was served immediately. Made a copy of 2 keys, they work perfectly, and the process was actually pretty quiet and not loud or grating on the senses. A little more than $4 for the two keys together. read more

Great customer service! Very quick and easy, and lots of products to choose from. Thank you!

Amazing! Quick. Locked myself out of my apartment after yoga class (approx 10:18am) The property manager was not home to get the spare ket from. Plaza Lock was able to dispatch a technician within 20 mins. Other places estimated 1 hr to 1.5 hrs and were considerably more $ than Plaza Lock Adrian my technician was professional. Great experience. Thankful my boss recommended them. Will recommend them as well read more

As a property owner I tend to need locksmiths Services quite often. My locksmith retired after 30 years of good service, and I've been through about 4 flaky locksmiths trying to find a good one. Another property management company referred me to these guys, I'm delighted. I had them do three jobs for me last month, very competitively priced, work was done in a timely fashion, and it was done right the first time what more can I ask I hope they stay around longer than I do. They have a real store with good displays and inventory. Leave it to me to find something they didn't have in stock, shockingly they got it the next morning completed the job that same afternoon. read more

Plaza Lock and Key - Keys & Locksmiths Near Me - Van Nuys, California

Do not go here. Negligent business, management and ownership. They had one job, to make a key copy and they didn't do that correctly. Be careful because they do not care about the quality of the service they provide. My friend could not get into my home (with the key copy they made) to take care of my pets and had to call a locksmith which was $250. Plaza Lock did not reimburse me for the locksmith and the manager didn't care that their employee made such a big mistake especially when he only has one simple job--make a key copy. read more

This is always my go to stop for anything keys! Guys always give the best service, very friendly and prices are fair. They are accommodating and always have a great attitude. I will remain a loyal customer and be sure to continue to send my friends and family here! Thanks guys! read more

I don't normally write reviews but I was so satisfied, I just had to. Quick and reliable. Fair price and worth every penny. I tried reaching out to a bunch of locksmiths on Google and Yelp. Plaza Lock was the only one true to their word. Mr. Rafael was able to unlock my car within 20 minutes of contacting them. That man needs a raise. 10/10 service, would definitely lock myself out of my car and call them again. Thank you. read more

This is my go to place for my truck keys. I have a fleet of trucks. They have most keys in stock and get the job done immediately.

I'm extremely grateful for Plaza Lock and Raphael. I called Saturday morning requesting a whole house rekey, and Raphael was there in less than two hours. He rekeyed all my doors and mailbox, and even replaced worn-out parts on my locks with the OEM equipment which he had in the truck. He also fixed some door handles that weren't latching properly. I'll definitely be using them again. Thank you Plaza Lock! read more

First and foremost Jonathan was Great! Knowledgeable, friendly, quick, made my first experience here great! This place is definitely a one stop shop. Highly highly recommend. This place is located right in the heart of Encino on Ventura Blvd with tons of parking located in their shopping center. I needed to duplicate a key really quick & of course found this place on Yelp & decided to give them a shot since I was close by. It appears to be a privately owned family business & right when I walked in they were extremely friendly & professional. They took just minutes to duplicate my key & their prices were very reasonable. I would highly recommend this place for a quick in & out. You won't regret it! Thanks again for the great service! read more

Called today to schedule someone to come out and fix a malfunctioning interior door knob that was making it so that I couldn't open the door at all. I explained what was happening and whoever I spoke to told me that it was a simple fix and then explained how I could easily fix it myself. I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow anyway because I didn't believe that I could fix it. Then I got bored and indeed I was able to easily fix it myself. Grateful to the kind person I spoke to on the phone who could have just taken the easy money but instead taught me a new skill. Thank you! read more
