Even before we stepped into Asana Spa, the experience was already exceptional. I reached out on a Monday to inquire about availability for a couples massage on Thursday (of the same week). I also asked about pricing and if any Kamaaina discounts were available. I get a courteous response within hours! The tone is friendly and inviting and all my questions are answered thoroughly. I confirm my appointment request and again I receive a response almost immediately. They send me an online appointment confirmation form (that's extremely easy to navigate) and we are set! I'm so impressed that I even mention that if this is the type of service I can expect at the spa then I'm definitely anticipating a fabulous time. The spa itself is located in the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa (Mauka side of Kuhio Avenue, near the Diamond Head end, same hotel as M.A.C 24/7). I know, if you are local you are thinking, "I don't want to go to Waikiki." Why not!? Don't let the tourist have all the fun! Asana Spa offers free, valet parking with validation. It's easy to get to. NO excuses! You need to get to this spa... Because once inside you are transported to a zen zone. The bustle of Waikiki and the world melts away in the serene space. It's clean and fashioned with a calming, minimalist décor. The ambience really makes you leave your stress at the door. Once in the doors, we were warmly greeted. And Fumie and Simone were ready with smiles for us--right on time! We chose the Swedish couples massage. They offer many add-ons, too. We didn't select any this visit and didn't feel pressured to do so. Again, they focus on an experience that provides optimal relaxation. The dark, quiet room and soft acoustic music provide a flawless setting for a perfect massage. Fumie and Simone were very skilled professionals. Their experience and expertise were very evident. For 60 minutes we were in their capable and comforting hands. We left feeling exactly how one should feel after a good massage--both relaxed and refreshed. Bri helped us to check out and because they have your credit card on file to secure the reservation, it was very easy. This was great because we were so relaxed we didn't even want to think about processing a payment--and we didn't have to. All that was left was for us to take our complimentary aromatherapy sprays and to bid adieu to Bri. The validation provided additional time, so we walked around the hotel for bit and took some pictures by the garden and koi pond. If you were hungry after your massage or spa service, you could also grab a bite at M.A.C 24/7. We didn't feel rushed to leave. A visit to Asana Spa is WORTH your time and money. I got a head and neck massage with Fumi, and it was incredible. This space is very clean, private, and has easy and efficient booking (I called and got an appointment for 45 minutes later). The front desk is super friendly and professional. The massage started right on time, and Fumi greeted me and went over what I was looking for. She is SO knowledgeable and intuitive. She focused on getting all the muscles supported so they would relax on their own, and I felt like I had taken muscle relaxers afterward--just flowing good feelings. A lot of massages don't adequately focus on the neck even if you ask for it, and I appreciate both that Asana offers the service and the gentle but efficient way Fumi worked on it. I was suffering from some minor shoulder and neck pain from a pinched nerve and the Lomi Loni massage here helped out massively so I arranged a massage here for myself and my partner ( because why not?). Miyako and Fumie were wonderful. They knew exactly where to focus on and provided the perfect pressure. The environment is relaxing, the oils smelled lovely and the full body massage healed me. I can now move my neck and shoulder with no hesitation and I feel rejuvenated. The best massage I've ever had with Naomi. She's trained in medical massage and after weeks of flying all over the world, she was perfect at finding all the right areas to focus on and give me advice for what I should do at home in follow up. I've also never had such a great conversation with my masseuse before. Usually I just sit there quietly but I genuinely enjoyed talking with her. I got a 60 minute massage and honestly felt like it was double that -- in a good way. My next visit to Honolulu is in January and I'm hoping to schedule with Naomi again then. read more

The spa is very clean, and I appreciated the free parking. The front desk staff were kind and accommodating, even when I had to reschedule my appointment twice. Unfortunately, the massage itself wasn't the best experience. I specifically asked the therapist not to use elbows, but the majority of the massage--around 80%--involved elbows and forearms. As a result, some areas of my body were left sore. I didn't enjoy it at all even when I told her a few times. Additionally, the music was too loud at the start, and it took about 10 minutes for the therapist to turn figure out how to turn it down. On the plus side, the therapist did extend the session, which I appreciated. However, I expected more attentiveness to my requests during the massage itself. read more

My massage itself was amazing. It was a 90 min Swedish from a nice lady who might have been newish? A couple of pieces of feedback if the business happens to see this. I was in the room up front by the reception desk and you can hear EVERYTHING from the lobby so it was not as relaxing when people were chatting and laughing. Maybe a divider can help as a sound barrier? I don't know the solution but just letting you know. Also I felt like there was a weird vibe when I was leaving. Like most spas I go to especially if they are trying to be nicer all the staff are welcoming and warm. It felt stiff and just weird mostly like I was being judged or stared at. I had the most amazing time! Please ask for Minato Murai! I bought the Total body indulgence package and it was completely worth it. Ms. Murai was very strong, checked in to make sure the pressure was good, the heat temperatures were up to par, and to make sure I was comfortable at all points of the massage. I don't normally take the time to write long reviews for positive experiences, but I'm on vacation and I had an amazing time. Out of the dozens of massages I've had, this was the worst by far! Booked a couples massage with this company. The two ladies did not seem to know about the allergen request I had input during the appoint booking and had to remind them, so there seems to be an important lack of communication. Additionally, we had requested them not to touch certain parts of our body. They did not follow this, even after acknowledging and had to remind them multiple times not to touch those areas. Beyond this, the quality of the massage left a lot to be desired. When they asked us what areas we wanted massaged/for them to focus on, they spent very little time on those areas. Better yet, there was no focus on any specific area. It was a generic massage. The actual quality was poor, too. They felt as if they had no idea what they were doing and making it up as they went. We both felt like they were taking a bread making class and we were the dough they were figuring out how to knead. We left feeling worse than we arrived and now two days later, we are feeling a bad kind of sore/stiff and regret spending the money we did. Do not come here to spent your money, spend it somewhere else. Your wallet and body will thank you. read more
