My trees took some damage in the late May snowstorm of 2022. I put out a bulk request for estimates on removal of broken branches and three stumps from my yard. Vincent from Artistic Tree Care responded almost immediately and scheduled my for an estimate a few days later. Lots of people had broken tree limbs, so it took a while for his worker to come over and do the job I had requested, but when my turn on the schedule came around his the employee was polite, professional, and performed the task exactly as requested. They were initially responsive, giving estimate and setting a date. That was it. They showed up on the date set, but no communication with me, they trimmed the tree, kind of, and left without any follow up. Not sure why I needed to be home. They did do a very good job with clean up, but the tree definitely needed some more trimming. It still has a bunch of dead branches and there are still branches up against roofline. Guess they weren't feeling their canvas that day. Definitely wouldn't recommend Artistic tree care. read more

I am giving Vincent and his crew a new updated review. I had trees trimmed back in April but could not be around during the work. The trimming had not been done as per our discussion leaving dead branch's and not trimming trees near the house. Vince from Artistic Tree Care contacted me same day as my request for quotes went in. Brief interaction on Yelp resulted in a promise of a view and quote. I received the quote at the time promised, with a picture of my sick looking tree, and I accepted that quote. Artistic's was one of several that we requested and received. Vince's quote was closest to our budget. We texted together to set the date and waited until the 18th of June for service. On the 18th of June, as promised, Alex came to my home to work on my tree. It's an older Ash with a ton of dead, but still alive and leafing. Alex worked for hours and did an amazing job, let alone that he did it without any helpers also. Alex had all the necessary safety equipment, and I could tell in our first conversation that he knew his business. He got out so much of the hard to reach dead limbs, saving as much of the tree as he could we had discussed. He did a great job, period. The job was completed in one visit, and Alex was an excellent young man to interact with. Polite and careful (as you can be while having to deal with falling branches and twigs). He cleaned up nicely when he was finished. I appreciated my brief conversations with him on an educational level as well. He was patient and explained things well and we were at ease with him from the very first. I would not hesitate to recommend Artistic and Alex. We had a very large spruce tree fall on our property during the bomb cyclone, so we reached out to Artistic Tree Care for a quote. The owner, Vincent, was super responsive and arrived first thing the next morning to have a look and I received a quote via email within a few hours after that. We chose Artistic over two other companies due to a combination of the great response time and price. Unfortunately, the performance of the job itself was a little bit of a mixed bag. Vincent's team showed up promptly the next day and got right to work, and the tree was completely removed within the estimated time frame (2 days), so in that sense it was a job well done. BUt there were two things that happened along the way which would make me hesitant to recommend Artistic to friends and family. 1. I had mentioned to Vincent when he was onsite for the estimate that as part of the job we wanted to have a portion of the trunk cut into live edge slabs. Vincent said that they should be able to cut the trunk in whatever way we wanted without an additional charge, but when the crew actually arrived they told me they didn't have the equipment to do what I thought I had already cleared with Vincent. I was disappointed, but ended up reaching a compromise with the crew that they would cut some rounds instead, and set them aside for me. I came outside a few hours later and everything was gone. I asked about the rounds and the guy I spoke to said he had forgotten, but that a few neighbors had carried off some larger portions of the trunk so if I wanted to I could go ask for them back. Nah...but thanks? In the end I reasoned that the job I paid them for was removal of the tree and they had done that quickly and effectively, so I couldn't fault them too much if they didn't cut or save the wood for me as I asked...so I didn't make a big stink. 2. This one is the bigger reason that I can't recommend this company. Removal of the tree was day 1, and on day 2 the crew came back to grind down the stump. They had mentioned the day before that they were anticipating trouble getting the stump grinder up onto our front yard because it is raised about 3-4 feet off of the sidewalk. The plan according to Vincent was for them to bring a plywood ramp with them, but on the day of, the crew decided instead to bring the grinder up over my neighbor's property since they had a more gradual incline to the sidewalk. They claimed that they had talked to the neighbor about this and gotten their approval, so I let it be. I went out to run some errands and came back later that afternoon to find that they had successfully ground down the stump, but in the process of bringing the grinder back through my neighbor's front lawn they had somehow lost control of the vehicle and hit their front stoop. The resulting damage was that the northern side of the brickwork stoop completely knocked down. The neighbors heard it happen and went outside and spoke with the crew, but rather than contact Vincent or myself, the guys to get some concrete and try to do the repair themselves. It was at this point that I arrived and became aware of the situation. It only took one look at the work they'd done so far to realize that these guys did not have much in the way of masonry training, so I immediately spoke to Vincent and asked him to coordinate the hiring of a subcontractor to do this work properly. He was apologetic and complied and the stoop was repaired and repainted within a week. My neighbor was pretty easygoing and ended up happy with the subcontractor's repair job, so in the end it's all good...but that situation could have ended much uglier and it would never have happened if the crew hadn't tried to cut corners in the first place. So in a nutshell, the owner is great but his crew left a lot to be desired. I don't know if maybe these guys were new hires due to the increased job volume from the storm or what, but they really would have benefited from a foreman to keep them in check. At the end of the day, my tree was removed quickly and at a reasonable price, but I wish it had been completed with the delivery of the live edge slabs I wanted and without the stress of damage to my neighbor's property. read more

As I have successfully done on previous occasions when I had no personal experience with the appropriate skill I consulted Yelp reviews when deciding which companies to call for quotes to trim two of my trees, one oak and one maple. They're about 8 years old as they were planted by the original owner of my house when it was built and while very healthy, they were in need of some shaping. One of the companies I contacted was Artistic Tree Care, owner Vincent Rodriguez. I got a response quickly and was able to set up an appointment for an estimate. The estimator was on time, professional and very knowledgeable. We agree on what would be done and within two days I received an email with a estimate/quote. I reviewed all the estimates I received and decided to go with Artistic Tree Care. An appointment was set up for a date (today September 28) and two days prior to that a two hour arrival window was provided. Artistic was on time, extremely knowledgeable and did an outstanding job. The trees look beautiful and both areas, front yard and rear yard were cleaned up completely. My yards were left clean as was the street in front of my house where the trimmings were chipped. These guys were incredible! I have a very large cottonwood (50+ feet) in the front yard that they cleaned up for me, I couldn't help but stand out and watch them work! Several substantial limbs were hanging over the house and they took them down safely and made it look easy with their skillful application of the rigging. I had another company come out and provide an estimate as well before deciding to go with Artistic Tree Care. Their estimate was very competitive and they are extremely responsive. After letting Vincent know that I would like to move forward with their estimate he was able to get me on their schedule quickly. They completed the work today with 1 guy! I have a very mature silver maple tree that needed a lot of dead trimmed out of it. Artistic Tree was able to do all of the work in 1 day, with 1 person and it looks incredible!
