What a wonderful experience! Initially, David the arborist, came out and provided an explicit estimate. Amy the Office Manager then scheduled the service date. Amy was a consummate professional. She was communicative and reliable. She not only answered many of my questions, but always followed up as promised. When the crew arrived Juan the foreman confirmed what I wanted done. Juan was very personable, and a great communicator as well. Juan relayed my instructions to the crew. The rest of the crew included Toby and Ben (the climbers), Eric and his son Eddie, and Alex. The entire crew was professional and courteous. The crew had an attention to detail and work ethic seldom seen. Toby, on numerous occasions, asked me if the trees were being trimmed to my liking. His follow-up was appreciated. The entire crew worked incredibly hard. Their efficiency and level of detail amazed me. My trees were trimmed thoroughly, and impeccably. We received our tree trimming team today and they did an excellent job. All workers were actually "working" vs phone in one hand and picking up a stick in the other. This was a refreshing change the other landscape services we used. The entire team was cordial and I was happy that a few of them speak English because I sadly don't know any Spanish. They went to work with hustle, good attitudes and worked hard as I far as I could see (I didn't watch them 24/7). Large debris was picked up. little leaves here and there I have no problem leaving. It was 97 degrees today and they all worked hard. The trees look great and one of the workers gave me some solicited advice on watering. They are also giving my trees a much needed shot of iron. We used them to take out two trees and two additional stumps. They were here to do the work on time. They did a great job taking down the trees and cleaning up the debris. The crew was very professional and courteous. We had one tree in the back that a tree service declined to attempt it. Just had the trees trimmed today! The crew was very professional, did a great job, and perfect cleanup! The estimator who quoted the job was also very professional. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because of the woman working in the office scheduling. She was difficult to deal with right from the beginning. I called the day after I received the quote, and she said she would call me back the next day. Told her that I was on the phone now and wanted to schedule. She said "no" she would call me tomorrow. She didn't!!! I called the next day, and she said she would call me back tomorrow!!!!!!!! She didn't!!! She called the following day, saying it sometimes takes her several days to call. What??? And, she had a snippy attitude. Told her I wanted a morning appt, she scheduled for afternoon!!! Said she would call me the day before to let me know the time. She didn't!!! After the work was completed I called to give her my card number to pay for the job, she informed me there would be an additional 2% for using a card. The Proposal/Contract says they accept credit cards but says nothing about an additional cost. That may not be her fault, but it's just something else. So, the actual people that do the work were great! Fortunately, the difficulty with the whole process was limited to this person. She doesn't seem interested in providing GOOD customer service.! read more

This company doesn't even deserve one star. I had specifically requested that a certain branch be saved when they cut down my cottonwood. It was cut right off the bat. A heavy object was tossed onto my cherry tomato breaking a branch off (immediately after I had asked the guy to be very careful with my plants). Clothes line was never put back, fire pit was moved along with pavers and never put back. Other pavers were placed against lattice; breaking it. Two significant divots were put into my back yard; never filled back in. The gate was left open (I have two dogs)!!!!! I'm still finding stuff that has to be put back into place. Sonny, the owner, had the b***ls to tell me that during my original walk through for a quote I was informed that certain objects needed to be moved--I was responsible to taking care of this. BS!!!! I was never told this. After I pointed out all the problems Bear Creek had caused, they told me they'd be out a certain day, certain time to take care of them. This NEVER happened! I spent the most part of an afternoon waiting for them to arrive; what a waste of time! No e-mails, no calls, no note on my door, no nothing. I ended up having to put most of the stuff back and fill in the divots myself. My husband & I are in poor health; it's difficult for us to move such objects as a fire pit. I had to ask a neighbor to move it for us. I would never recommend this company to anyone! Unfortunately, I had to pay them. I feel like I was bent over. We hired Bear Creek Landscape Company to add new rock to an existing 30+ year old fireplace wall that was originally constructed as a combination of moss rock and drywall. Mike did the stone work, doing an excellent job of blending the new rock with the old existing moss rock. I am giving them 2 stars because the end product turned out pretty well and they offered the cheapest price. But, it was a roller coaster ride to get there due to poor organization and communication by the company. First, they neglected to show up for our first quote appointment to have a backyard tree removed and the stump ground down (this should have been my first clue). Upon getting the quote on a 2nd try, we set up a removal date. The cutting aspect went well, being completed early the day of. But upon completion, the crew left without grinding the stump or saying a word to me. I waited patiently for a couple hours without any change. I called the office to follow up, and they advised that the grinding crew comes later on in the day. Again, I waited without hearing a word. By 5:00PM I was getting concerned, so I called their after hours number, at which point I was told that often times the stump grinding happens the next day. This would have been one thing if they had mentioned it up front. But, I had only arranged for one day off work and deemed it unacceptable. To their credit, they did get the stump grinding crew over late that evening. I wrote the stump crew a check upon their leaving and was moderately pleased at the time. BUT, now a week has gone by, and I received a call from them telling me that they did not get a check from me and I owe them for the job. Upon explaining that I gave it to the stump grinding crew, I was told "they have been having a lot of problems not getting checks after people give them to the stump guys." That is an internal problem that they need to deal with amongst their employees, not mine. Who knows where my check is, and I should not have to pay them multiple times. Unless you are heavily cash strapped, I would recommend paying a bit extra with someone else and avoiding the headache. read more

to begin with we were woken up at 6:45 in the morning by one of the tree trimers that wanted to look at our tree, then sat in his truck till a little after 9 when the rest of the crew showed up!! There were removing a large maple tree out back, I had 6 logs 2 foot long 4 to 5" round that I had removed from the same tree early in the year. I asked one of the crew named Jason if they could please take these 6 logs for me, he said they could but they would have to charge me for this.... I said really..screw this, then asked another one of the crew he said he really don't know about this guy. So I thought ok every thing would be ok. Apparently he said something to Jason and I'm watching thru my front window and this guy Jason sees me and sticks his tongue out at me and turns his head really fast !!! I thought what the hell....I ran out back to say something to him our eyes did lock on he new I caught him!! then my dam dog got out and of course I had to chase him around, it was probably was a good thing. So I thought I'll just wait and tell the crew leader at the end of the job... as I did he didn't even give a shit and kept walking away from me. All over 6 little logs !!! unbelievable!!! Then I asked when the stump grinder going to be here, I don't know soon I think... well should I wait around... I don't know.. I would say all these guys have attitudes!!! I WOULD NOT USE THESE PRICKS AGAIN.... Never did get my 6 logs picked up, had to pick up there trash and still waiting for the stump remover day and 1/2 latter. read more

This company did a wonderful job for us just a few years ago with an area of new landscaping, a small area of flagstone installation, and a tree replacement and transplant. However, part of this job included pulling out an overgrowing tree near the front of our home with a tree that would not overgrow the area. $750 and six years later the replacement tree was overgrowing the space at an even more rapid pace than the original tree. I called--politely-- to see if they could work with us on removing that tree and finding a good replacement, fully expecting to reimburse for time and labor but hoping the company would own the fact that we spent a great deal of money to fix a problem which they essentially made worse--and now needed to spend more money to truly solve the issue. The owner was beyond rude, and I said thank you and hung up the phone. He called back with an apology and a promise to call back with a possible solution. It is about 2 months later, and no call back. Nor would I wish to deal with this company again. Too bad our initial experience was not matched this time. Our request was reasonable.
