These guys sent 2 different crews out yesterday and today to remove a huge cotton wood tree from my back yard and I must say that both crews did a excellent job. None of my neighbors could believe how fast and thorough they were and then today the other crew grinded down that stump! They went down over a foot to get it and then even filled it back in after they were done. My husband said the last time we had it done by someone else that they just left a big hole in the ground. I swear you couldn't find better workers than these guys. If they had a 10 stars I would have given them all to them. read more

Had a tree crew cut down my neighbor's tree a few days ago, and they left wood chips and debris spread all through my driveway, across my yard, and all over my personal vehicles. I understand tree work gets messy, but part of being professional is making sure the cleanup is done right and respecting neighboring properties. Very disappointed with the lack of care and consideration. read more

Rushton did a great job on some damaged trees. Martin took time to really look over and explain to me what had to be done! Very satisfide

They arrived on time, did a great job on our trees, and cleaned up everything after they were done. I would definitely recommend them and will hire them again in the future. read more

Unfortunately I had two 65+ foot silver maple trees that needed to be removed due to decay and rotting. The Denver city forestry staff examined the trees and provided the required permit to Rushton Tree. I received a few bids from city approved contractors and chose Rushton due to value and good work they did on previous jobs for me. Martin and Julio were exceptional workers who arrived on time and removed the two huge trees safely and efficiently with an excellent cleanup job. They were professional and I highly recommend this company! read more

I'm met larry Rushton at the site. Larry Rushton is the owner. He did a great job on providing me a bid for the 15 trees I had him cut down in the Denver marketplace. He was very professional ! in observing how they did the job I saw the true professional skill set that their arbors had. They were totally amazing. Cutting trees around Garages and fences it was just remarkable. I will use them again. They are truly a professional company with integrity. It's nice to know companies like this still exist. read more

HI I have tried to reach out to you guys via email and phone messages, I am just hoping someone can come to my house and look at where the grinding took place- they said it was only 4 inches deep when they went to plant my new tree. I am resorting to this in hopes that someone will respond after several weeks of me reaching out to you. read more

This is the second time Rushton has helped me w/ a tree crisis - this time a tree uprooted July 3- and who can get anyone on a 4 day holiday weekend? But Larry called, had a crew over to give me a (good) price and DO THE WORK that day!!! I was So relieved, as were my neighbors, that the tree didn't fall and cause damage to our garages & houses. Antonio Jr. was very good about keeping me updated. The neighbors are converts after seeing how professional they were and how quickly they were there. I wish I could give 5 stars for the time a tree fell across my house and they quickly came and got it off w/ no damage to the roof except a little to the swamp cooler ( from the tree). I have used Rushton probably 30+ years and I particularly like them because it's a family business which translates to them being in touch w/ the quality of work and their workers. read more

We were under a deadline with the city to get our cottonwood trimmed. They were able to get us in with in a couple weeks and they did a great job. Very nice guys to work with. I had a concern about 1 branch because the city of Longmont was coming back to see if it passes their inspection. They went back up and trimmed the branch in question off with out question. It's nice when someone actually listens to you. read more

It took more than a week and multiple telephone calls to get a quote. Then another several days to get 1 question answered (which is still not answered). After many attempts to get a response, they have completely ignored me. I'll find another service to help us with our tree needs. read more

Rushton came through again yesterday, when trimming my hundred year old maple and two other trees. Timely response, reasonable price, showed up promptly as planned, and did a great job. Great experience with Larry and team in March 2022. We called to request an estimate for some delayed tree trimming and shaping in our yard. In total it was 9 trees total, some very very tall and mature. Larry was able to come out same week for an estimate, which the cost was reasonable given the work involved. We told him to fit us in when available, expecting it to be a month or two. Instead he surprised us by calling that a crew could come 10 days after the day he visited. The crew - wow, amazing and talented. I admit I secretly judged from the window thinking they were cutting the wrong branches. Nope, I was wrong. I was so impressed at their ability to see the tree and trim what needed to be trimmed (aka dead or broken) but also give the trees a lift and open them up. I'm still in shock how they climbed the trees with no fear! Their cleanup was great. I would highly recommend them! read more

Rushton tree service came to me by referral from a neighbor who uses them. Larry Rushton himself came out and quoted me for the trimming of a large catalpa tree in my front yard as well as the removal of two ailanthus (tree of heaven aka weed tree) trees from my property. Scheduling was not as straightforward as it could have been, with a missed visit and a failure to communicate between Larry and office. If you read through reviews on Yelp and Google, it seems most peoples' issues are with the office, scheduling, and communication. Just expect some hiccups there and your expectations will be fine. I worked with the office to schedule my service a week and a half out at 8am. The team ended up showing up 45 minutes late but called 10 minutes out to let me know they were close by. They initially told me it would take 3 hours to complete the work. A team of 3 ended up completing all the work and cleaning up within 1 hour. So net, I'll consider that a win. The pricing was competitive; $650 for the trimming and 2 removals. The workers were all friendly and personable. I would recommend Rushton Tree Service as well as use them again for future needs. read more

Rushton tree service was at our house today trimming two trees. One small one and one very large one. The guys were very professional. Very polite. Excellent service. I highly recommend them. I was skeptical about the price and the job that they would do but they beat everybody and the job they did was excellent! They cleaned up everything and it was cleaner then when they got here. read more

Rushton Tree Service did fantastic work on our property. We have used their service for the last 5 years. They removed a dead Aspen and trimmed our beautiful Ash tree along with our Redbud tree. We have used Rushton Tree Service for years and have always been pleased with their work. We had several limbs in our huge locust tree that died over the winter. Thank you Rushton! Judy and Willie. read more

Thank you very much to Dave B. for pointing me to Rushton Tree Service! We moved into a house with a HUGE maple tree in May and as winter drew closer I started to eyeball the hanging dead branches with a bit of worry. Not to mention that once this summer when my husband and I were eating dinner on our patio a branch came out of the tree like a spear and stuck in the grass - straight up like it had been thrown by a skilled hunter! I called Rushton Tree Service and within a day or so Larry came by to provide us with an estimate. The estimate was incredibly competitive. I called my dad to talk it over and he said he received a bid from a competing tree service and the cost was nearly $200 more to trim a smaller tree than our giant maple. After making an appointment the Rushton team came out within two weeks to trim our trees. Not only did they do a great job on the trees, our yard was SPOTLESS after they were through. Except for the invoice neatly printed and left on our front door, you would never have known anyone was there working on the trees. Amazing! I highly recommend Rushton Tree Service and have already forwarded their information to several friends. If you have trees that need a trim - give Rushton Tree Service a call! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I was invoiced for work never done. I both called and emailed to say I wouldn't be paying for a job not completed. I also said they should not plan to show up to do the work once they realized their error. Well, who should show up today with no notice? My call to the front office was not answered and since I wasn't at home, I refused the job over the phone with the Crew Leader. I have since sent another voicemail and letter, both emailed and faxed. I will be reporting them to the BBB should they show up again. read more

Having been a contract customer for 20+ years I'm finished with them. They have the worst customer service ever. Jessica their receptionist is worthless. I've called them 4 times and no follow up. I even spoke to their arborist about a month ago who said he'd drive by and look at my tree that needs attention and I can't even get a response. I now have 3 trees that need attention. I called again today and asked if she sees me as one of their contract clients and she said she couldn't find me. 7 minutes later while on hold while she was looking for me I finally hung up. read more

This company is the epitome of incompetence, unprofessionalism and poor customer service. They will not return my calls. It's been 3 months since I called to have two trees removed, not a peep from them. Most recently, they sent me a past due notice for work they claim was completed 2 weeks prior, the trees are still standing. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company, don't even call for an estimate. read more

So I've used Rushton Tree service over the years on various properties I own and I've always been satisfied. Today, however, when I called to find out when I was on the schedule to have some trees trimmed on one of my rental properties I was given the runaround by whoever answered the phone who sounded young and unprofessional at best: Who did I talk too ? Exactly what date did I get my estimate? What month did they tell me they were coming? When I explained that I had previously called 'about a month ago' to ask for an estimate and to please mail it to my home address or call me but instead it was left at the rental property then she insisted that I needed to know who I talked with and exactly what day. When I said I had no idea she then proceeded to say they were three months out and there was no way she could go through three big notebooks looking for my estimate. Seriously? I said I couldn't help that I didn't remember the exact date or person and I was just trying to give them $800 of my money she said, and I quote, 'we have plenty of other customers that we can take money from'. WOW, just wow. I guess I'll be looking for another tree company. read more

I can't complain about the actual work. Nothing untoward happened, but the attitude and the ability of the folks in the office to communicate is lacking. Someone there has a real attitude problem and needs a little assist with the people skills. If you don't like your job , then quit. Don't take out your angst on the customer. We are where you get your cash.... I will use them again if I have anymore tree issues. As I said.. the work was fine, but the face of the company could do with a little "lift". Clean up your issues and don't take them out on someone trying to give you money. read more

I don't know if their tree trimming is good - they trimmed my tree before I even agreed to use them!!! All I wanted was an estimate - they left one in my door, then the next day my tree was trimmed! I never agreed to that. I never got an invoice, then 15 days later I got a "Past Due Invoice" and the price was raised by $100! And they used a first name nothing like mine. I hope their tree trimming is better than their customer service and communication. The office people (and answering service who never seem to answer the phone) must be totally incompetent. But it all goes back to the owner and boss. I never agreed - yet they trimmed my tree - then no invoice but a past due one. No way to run a business! read more

Had Rushton back to remove a 60 year old silver maple that is unfortunately dying in our back yard. Great job again like last time. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would. I used this company 3-4 yrs ago to take down two trees in front of my house. They did a wonderful job. Since then, I've referred them to SEVERAL people. Fast forward to 2021 and I needed 3 shrubs on one side of my house removed. They come out, leave an estimate, and I call back to schedule. I then called again to add 2 shrubs on the other side of my house (one of which is turning into a tree). I even asked if texting her pics would help, she said yes, so I texted her pictures of the shrubs to speed things up. I called the next day to ask what the bid would be. She said I'd have to get a new bid. I asked why did I bother sending pics then?! She said they could call me when they arrive to do the other shrubs and give me a bid. They didn't show up for their appointment. I called several times before getting a girl and rescheduling again. 2nd time, they no-showed. I called again and said I've used them before and referred them several times and told them how frustrated I was. They called their ppl and called me back and said they'd come at the end of the day. 3rd time, again, they no-showed. I don't know what's going on with these people but if I could take back every referral, I would. They were extremely fast to come out and leave an estimate. But, once I got the estimate, it went downhill. I know we've just gone thru Covid, but business should not be setting appointments and then not showing up...not once, but 3 times!!!! read more

The people that cut the trees are incredibly rude. They were hired by neighbors. Very inconsiderate that they would block me in but that happens. What I found to be rude is that when I told the man I that I exit the alley to the right (as it was clear from snow and ice) he proceeded to try to lie to my face about the entire city being covered in ice as opposed to just in half of the alley. He refused to pull his truck forward so I could exit the clear way. He also refused to tell me if he was hired by the city or a resident. If he was hired by the city then I should have received notice. Very rude. Very unprofessional. read more

We have been in an ongoing 5+ month saga with this company. I'm sure the work they do is fine, but the business management and customer service is terrible. Over the summer, we came home from work one day to find then trimming one of our trees- this was completely unannounced and we had not agreed to this service. We did pay and thought we were done with this company. However, 4 months later in November, they send us a bill for separate services which they did not complete. The bill was posted 10/28 for services supposedly rendered 10/29. This work was actually completed by a different company in September. We called, explained the situation, and they agreed. Now, just this week, we get another bill from them stating our bill (for this service they did not provide) is past due. We are still trying to get them to stop contacting us, to stop billing for services they did not provide- but most of the time they do not answer the phone, they do not return messages, and if they do answer the phone they are usually rude and unhelpful. read more

I'll be honest - Working with Rushton was a little bit of a mess, but they were cheap as hell compared to other quotes. Backstory: I was cited by the city for a dying black walnut in my backyard and needed to have it out within the month. I called around and most quotes were north of $1300, but Rushton was like $700 or something and my neighbor endorsed them. So I said, "what the hell" and agreed to let them do it. I had ONLY ONE CONDITION - they needed to leave 5 ft of the trunk off the ground so I could build a tree house for my kids on it afterwards. On the day of, they were prompt and cut the thing down fine, stacking the wood for a haul off tomorrow but when I returned from work I found that the stump was way too high (like 8 ft or something) and called to ask them to trim it back to under the fence height (like 5ft high) per city requirements. They agreed to do it the next day. Great! I said. When I get home from work the next day, what do I find? The stump is GONE. completely gone at the ground. I called in and they really had no excuse and the office folks apologized and said they distinctly told them to leave 5 ft of trunk. They gave me a further discount and we parted ways. It was really annoying to ask twice for a very specific thing and have it completely botched, but such is life I guess. So - if you want economy tree service, Rushton is your jam, but I'd suggest not asking for anything other than a full boiler-plate removal. read more

I called this company for an estimate and no one ever showed up or returned two additional messages I left looking for an update. Two weeks after I originally called the company and set an appointment I finally reached someone in their office. It turns out they do not service where I live. It would have been nice if the first person I originally set the appointment with had apprised me of this fact. I hope their tree service is better than their customer service... read more

I have used Rushton for over 20 years. Very happy with their services: a. lawn care (aeration, fertilization) b. spraying c. tree trimming An aspect that I really appreciate is Larry's honesty. I ask him if my trees need trimming and he tells me: yes/no. Mostly: no. read more

BEWARE. I have been a customer of Rushton's for many years. They sprayed my elms twice a year. Recently a tree I've been babying for years, has been infested so badly the leaves are dying and falling off the branches. I called and emailed RUSHTON about it and got no response -now the condition is out of hand. I also called numerous times over a three year period for an estimate to have another elm removed. I finally called another company. I complained via email and I thought I would share their response: _________________________________ ! ! ! ! I am very sorry for the terrible service you feel Rushton Tree Service is providing you. I would call another tree company also if it took 3 years for an estimate. At this time we do not feel we can provide the service that you need. We will not be out to give you a bid and we will no longer spray your trees. We did spray on 6/11 for elm leaf beetle we will not charge you so please do not mail in a payment. Thank you Teresa Rushton read more

Had them quote tree trimming early this fall- they came by to look at the trees and gave us a reasonable quote that same day. They had great customer service and definitely knew all about the trees in our yard and neighborhood! After getting 2 other quotes we found rushton to be priced right in the middle but had better customer service and a better strategy of what to do with our trees. I called and made an appointment- it was 10 weeks out! Wow! I understood but didn't want to wait that long as snow was coming around the corner. The customer service rep helped by offering to let me know if they had a cancellation or found they had extra time. She called a few days later and they were coming the next week!
