The staff are friendly and they seem to be pretty good at making sure they do a good job (not rushed) and they give a pretty good foot massage - not half assed like some other places. They have all the staples - OPI, CND, etc. It's a small place, so don't expect that serene spa like experience. It's relatively clean and cheap (I think my pedicure was $28, not including tip). It's been like 3 wks and it's held up remarkably well! There is some parking in front - it's located in the strip plaza in Scarborough. There is currently construction around this area so be careful to look out for the entrance into the plaza as it may be blocked off (I think you can go around to the side entrance of the plaza if that is the case)

I've brought a few friends and they are all now converts (one even drives nearly 25 minutes to patron it). Both times I've done walk-ins, they've been able to handle me right away and without some of the issues I've had at other places. They've also been great about booking appointments, and it isn't hard to book if you're not fussy about which manicurist you get. It's clean, and doesn't have that horrible smell that many nail salons do. It's not fancy, but it's well maintained, and they have very fair prices. It's also not overly busy and somewhat quiet, which is SO nice. I used to go to Top Queen down on Lawrence, but the service was so horrible, the place so loud, and the smell was SO bad that I couldn't do it anymore - Kimmy's was literally a breath of fresh air. I've had their shellacs last nearly FOUR WEEKS without chipping, which is pretty unreal. My last one had a few small issues (practically nothing) a week after getting it, but I was in with a friend, and the manicurist who was helping my friend noticed and got one of the other women there to touch it up free of charge. It really is a lovely salon. Not fancy, but if you're looking for cheap, good service, they are worth it.

Within just 2-3 days, my nails began peeling and chipping, and I had to return multiple times on October 31, November 1, November 4, and November 8, 2025 for the same issue. Each visit, the nails were sanded down and reapplied, but the problem kept recurring, leaving my natural nails damaged and weak. When I shared my concerns, the manager claimed they had done "enough free repairs," as though repeatedly fixing the same failed service was a favor. Instead of acknowledging a possible issue with the product or application, he blamed my nails, twisted my words, and even used intimidating language, saying they would no longer fix them after November 8. I politely requested a refund, but was told the service was "already done." I then suggested store credit explaining that I could return once my nails healed to fairly test whether the issue was really my nails or the product but he refused that as well. To make matters worse, other customers mocked and criticized me, even though some admitted it was unusual for shellac to chip so quickly. My issue was never with the technician's skill, but with the quality of the product and the manager's unprofessional handling of the situation. While the technicians themselves are talented, the management lacks professionalism, accountability, and customer respect. No client should be dismissed or belittled for raising legitimate concerns or seeking fair treatment.

I used the washroom today before my appointment and it was really dirty - sink area dirty, floor and no paper towels to dry your hands. Last time I was a little upset about how unkept the technicians station was - didn't look like it had been cleaned for weeks. Now I don't work here but it only takes a couple minutes to clean up after each customer and there should be no reason why it's so dirty. I'm only getting a manicure today and glad it's not a pedicure. There are no mats on the floor or slippers/flip flops to change into to walk on after a pedicure and the floor is filthy from wet books and shoes tracking in debris from outside. Shame because the place is great otherwise. The lady that has done my manicures is just fantastic and I've had a pedicure here last week and she did an awesome job. I just can't get past their housekeeping. That and I made the appt on line yesterday- then they called and said - we need to a move your appt to 11:30 - no problem I said - I got here and 11:20 and have been waiting ever since..it's now 12:15.
