I went in after this place was recommended to me for an overlay fill in. I feel like at most nail places you feel pressured into getting gel which is one thing but not only the lady doing my nails tried pressuring me into getting gel, she had another coworker join in where they implied in front of others that I couldn't afford it, which was not the case. The technician said I should do almond, since my nails were already that shape, so I obliged after going back and forth with her. When checking out, she charged me $5 for "nail reshaping". I am new to the Memphis area and looking for a new nail salon and found them on TikTok as highly recommended. I will preface this by saying this is my second time coming in the past 2 weeks. The first time i came i was very impressed so i decided to come back. In my opinion, the service i asked for was pretty simple. I wanted dip with a tip and chrome. The technician that did my nails was an older woman and i believe there was a language barrier between the two of us and i never want to be seen as disrespectful to another's culture. My nails were very bulky and there was one nail in particular that was crooked. There was a gentleman walking around who attempted to shape them and made them look less bulky but now they just look janky. As someone who works in the service industry, i try not to complain or make someone's job hard which often times leave me dissatisfied. I think that i will try them again but maybe get something less complicated per se. On a positive note, the salon is nice and the people working are friendly! read more

I went in for a full gel x set and a manicure ($85). There was so much excess gel used to adhere the tips to my natural nail that when it cured, I got minor burns where the gel media was in contact with my skin under the nail. There was a massive, approximately pea-sized ball of leftover gel that was cured to the underside of my dominant thumb that I had to dig out with a nail tool at home because it was causing pain and limiting the function of that thumb. I started going here about a year ago and when I moved back I decided to patronize them again. I get regular polish now because gel damages my nails too bad. I came in on a Thursday because I had a job interview. During the service I noticed that they were short staffed, they did not sanitize after each client like they did last year. Also note that I cannot get the same person, they say the person no longer works here. The next day before my interview the polish chipped or came completely off so during my interview I spent a lot of time hiding my hands. My cuticles are also split and peeling because he snipped my cuticle when I asked him not yo do that he used the drill and they still peeled. I called Artisan and gave them my number, they told me to come back with 7 days. I went back the following Thursday and was told that I would have to pay to have them redone. I explained that I called she just said the policy does not cover regular polish and I told her I do not live close and would not have come all the way back here, unless I was told they would cover it. Just be aware of their policy, they do not guarantee regular nail polish services. I am not a complainer and I believe they should have better customer service but now I understand why they have a high turnover rate and why their business is slow. They do not take pride in the quality of the service/work. read more

When this first placed open I was so excited, however in just a couple of months is has gone way down hill. While the space itself is nice, the staff seems to feel that you the customer are an inconvenience. They claim to take walk-ins but don't, they will have you come back later in the day but you have to pay a deposit of $30 to claim the spot. Same if you make an appointment in the first place. On top of this, the place is never even half full. Even still, they are never ready on time and spend more time laughing in the back than they do on your service. It's so disappointing! read more

By the time I got to my car, my hands were very dry, and I could see where there was nail polish on my fingers. It's tricky to really see how well of a job is done when you're in the salon with the dim light. In the sunlight I could see where nail polish was missing on the sides. I also noticed that the shape of each mail was different (round, almond). Another interesting tidbit, the color you choose from the sample color sheets- won't be the color you get. I chose tiramisu and ended up with a brown color. Looked a little darker in the studio, VEEY dark in normal light. I called to ask for a refund, they wouldn't offer one. Just that I could come back in so they could fix it. I sent pictures. It's hard to come back in and not feel super awkward since the person who did your nails is still there. Plus, I'd already been there for 2 hours and couldn't stick around for another hour. I asked if I could come back in 5 days, the next time I'd be in the area- they said no. read more

I normally am a fan of this place. I tell all my friends to go to it and have had great service here. But today was not one of those days and left me extremely disappointed. I went in for my appointment at 2:30 for a pedicure and a dip polish change and everything was great. The pedicure was great. But then when i got to my nails it felt like my nail tech was rushing and told me as we were approaching the end that if I needed help with anything after she finished i would have to ask the front because she had to take a lunch. I went up to the front because a few of my nails had bubbles in it and waited for someone to fix it. A lady next to me left because of how long the wait was and then when someone was finally able to help me she was distracted. Repeatedly had to leave me sitting there to do other things, and went to go take a photo of another customers nails. When I told her about the service and that I was disappointed with how everything went she informed me that my initial tech wasn't able to do everything in time before her lunch (even though AGAIN I had an appointment and I was placed with her) and that she fixed it so she didn't know what else I wanted her to do. I had already been there for almost 2 1/2 hours at that point and was exhausted and frustrated so I just left. I can totally understand when a business is busy and having to wait but I am never ok with a lack of quality in services and being made to feel like I have been an inconvenience for asking for the quality when that's what I paid for! edit to respone Hello Nick thank you for your response, but to clarify I was referring to the amount of time I had to then wait while trying to get my nail fixed due to the first technician not being able to touch up mistakes. I was done with the first technician at 4:01 but I had to stay for an extra 30-35 minutes to get two nails fixed (which on one I can still see my nail so it wasn't fully fixed).
