An awesome place right around the corner from my apt, Artisan Cafe is a nice little gem hidden in Belltown. The sandwiches there are absolutely delicious. I had the grilled pork Banh Mi over the weekend and it was awesome. Everything was fresh and the pork just melted in your mouth. What's even more amazing are the owners, they are absolutely some of the most friendly people around. After coming to this place no more than a few times, they remembered my name and were always upbeat and friendly. From the name and looks of this place I would've never guessed it was Vietnamese influenced. We walked by and decided to try it out. We discovered that they have a decent Vietnamese sandwich selection. Banh miiiii! I ordered the Asian chicken salad which delicious! The chicken was grilled and seasoned Vietnamese style. I definitely want to make this at home now! I also fell in love their peanut vinaigrette dressing. The Boyfriend ordered the mighty muffin and a cappuccino. Everything totaled under $20 with tip. I've only tried the pork baguette aka Vietnamese sandwich here. It's good. And a pretty nice bargain. $4.25. It's a cheaper meals than most places in Belltown. I've been here 3 or 4 times. The first couple of times the owners were on Vacation and their mothers were running the joint. Very sweet ladies.The Chai tea they made me wasn't very good but I returned because they were so funny and so sweet. The owners were back today and i was a little sad.....lol. It's a super cute, clean, fairly spacious cafe although today it was PACKED so I took my baguette to go. They have a decent sized menu and from what I've tried I'm def. a fan! My colleague and I were in town for business and we were in search of a cafe with free wifi along w/sandwiches to bring to an agency meeting. My vanilla latte was excellent! Good grade of coffee used to craft it! I ordered a lox bagel and that too was really good! We were also able to feed a team with an array of sandwiches and the 2 employees accommodated us without any problems. Keep in mind they were literally able to provide catering on the spot. One of the best banh mi sandwiches I've ever had. The bread was fresh but crisp. Also, the pork was actual meat pieces and not grizzle or fat. I also tried the vietnamese coffee which was a bit strong for my liking but not bad at all; just personal preference. Really delicious mom and pop Vietnamese sandwich stop in Seattle. The price was really good and the sandwich and Vietnamese coffee were out of this world. Satisfied my cravings! Inside this is a cute little spot with plants and window seating making it ideal for those dining alone as well as in a small group. Order a combo banhmi and club. Club was pretty good, but lacked favor. Banhmi was almost inedible, meat was dry and cold. The bread, was terrible. Most banhmi has a crusty outside texture and fluffy on the inside. This just tasted like it was old and dry and microwaved. read more

This place is a gem. Cozy interior, intimate service. Affordable banh mi and I can't recall having any better ones, and I've lived in Houston and Dallas in addition to Seattle. They have all the coffee beverages you could want, including delicious ca phe sua da, and their other (american/non-viet style) sandwiches look good too. Simple, casual and quick cafe that offers a French/Vietnamese favorite. Coming from SoCal and the epicenter of Vietnamese food, expectations are high. After deciding we didn't want typical breakfast food for breakfast, we stopped here on our brisk walk to visit the Space Needle (only a few blocks away). Our first breakfast in Seattle before heading to the Space Needle and Chihuly Glass Garden. Excellent, friendly service at the counter. The family-covers did a bang up job covering, plus the Mom/Aunt combo were absolute sweethearts and adorable. This is one of those places where it's clear that 'love' powers (to some extent) the deliciousness of the food and the success they enjoy. I wouldn't change a thing other than to suggest they stay on top of health department inspections, maybe lighten up on the use of the radiation box, and if expansion ideas come up, do their best to stay involved in each location. Why get a $6 mediocre footlong from a chain restaurant when you could come here and get a fresh, flavorful chicken sandwich with thinly sliced carrots, cilantro all wrapped up in crusty french bread?! This banh mi (Called french bread sandwich on the menu) only costs 5$ and some change and is 100x better than the average sub sandwich. Different level altogether. I want to come back and try the pork banh mi! I take out the peppers because they're too hot for me. The sandwich is filling and chock full of flavor. Highly recommend! This airy corner cafe is walking distance from Seattle Center, the perfect lunch break from touring the museums. Im kicking myself for not coming here sooner, because moments after bringing my sandwich home I was messaging a friend the following: "OMG! My face is full of happiness right now.. aka bacon and gorgonzola on a sandwich!" I work from home and only get 30 min for my lunch break. Im starving cuz I skipped out on breakfast. My kitchen sink is broken so I don't want to cook and have dishes pile up, plus I had next to nothing to cook anyway. The nearby pizza place wont allow carryout for orders under $20, and everything else plausible would have just been junk food groddiness. Then I remember I am right by the Artisan Cafe -- and a sandwich should be quick and portable. I run across the street to a place that is small, bright and clean. Free wifi, tons of outlets, and a computer hooked up to a big ol'flatscreen LCD. One of the owners gives me a menu and it takes me all of 3 seconds to decide that I want the BGT -- the bacon, gorgonzola and tomato sandwich. How could I resist? I sit and wait, the owners make idle chit chat but being truly interested. They apologize for the time frame the sandwich takes (but so worth it cuz EVERY bit of it gets toasted!), and then they pack it up all pretty and send me on my way. The sandwich? Well it is amazing. This is my new favorite spot in Belltown. Well more like my first favorite spot, my first love, since I just moved to Seattle a few weeks ago. What's so great about it? Well why don't we start with the non-food aspects and end with the food. First of all, wonderful and extra friendly service. It takes awhile for you to get your food, yes, even when there are only a few people in the shop. However I like to attribute that to the "made-to-order" nature of the restaurant. Anyway, every person there is extra nice and accommodating. Kind of just makes me smile thinking about them. Secondly, they have wifi and sufficient outlets around the cafe. Also a big screen tv hooked up to a computer that I'm not sure what it's for, but it seems cool anyway. It just adds to the overall hip internet cafe image. Now we come to the food, oh dear god the food. BGT. Bacon, GORGONZOLA, tomato. I always kind of the thought the lettuce was a copout anyway, adding nothing to the whole BLT ensemble, just lying there limply as it wilts under the freshly fried bacon. So an upgrade from lettuce to one of my favorite things...enter blue cheese.....is an enormous improvement, and perhaps the best improvement ever conceived. Not to mention that they add some lightly caramelized onions (I say lightly because they are still crispy al dente, but sauteed just long enough to bring out some extra sweetness) which is a perfect compliment to the bite of blue cheese. Overall this sandwich was awesome and I would come here over and over again for it. On to breakfast! I had the Everything Croissant which has scrambled eggs, ham, tomato, onions, a seasoned croissant and chipotle aioli! Chipotle aioli is my ambrosia. It makes everything taste better. The scrambled eggs were fresh off the griddle, the ham was nicely lined in a fatty and flavorful crust, the veggies were fresh and crisp, and it was the perfect way to start the day. read more

Browsed Yelp for a good lunch place and found this. Such an awesome spot to get lunch! I had a tuna sandwich which was amaaaazing. The cheese was first melted and then the sandwich was pressed so the bread was nice and crunchy. The tuna was delicious, nice big chunks and the tomato fresh and sweet. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back and get one right now. My boyfriend had the pastrami sandwich and he liked his as well. When we were waiting for the sandwiches we saw the frozen yogurt machines sitting behind the counter and the girl that tended to us said they start serving frozen yogurt Wednesday (aug 10th). I heard flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter and maybe peach but I'm not sure about the last one. You bet we'll be there Wednesday to try some!! read more
