OK OK so I read all the hype ... had to check this place out. Got there at 630 and it was a small crowd... sat down and ordered the italian sauages with three eggs, potatoes, buscuits... I asked for a cup of gravy, and some cheese for my potatoes... and an orange juice. Here is the breakdown... ThE GOOD: Eggs were perfect! delicious.... Same for potatoes and the orange juice. They were awesome!! Good portions The sausages were large and good.. not great but good. THE OK: Biscuits were not piping hot, but remnded me of the pillsbury ones from ralphs. they were ok. Gravy was weird... didnt like it. Wasnt bad, just not what I expected or liked THE UGLY: The total of this breakfast was $21!!! Two glasses of OJ is 8 bucks! No bueno!! Well I'm gonna say about this place is.... It has the best biscuits and gravy I've had to date. The gravy was not to thick, not thin. There was a mouth full of bacon pieces in every spoon full. The biscuit were a good size. Not to big and doughy like others I've had from other places. Also they had a light butter taste to them that was not over powering. I saw its worth the cost of just biscuits and gravy. Next time ill do the drive thru and get extra gravy. So delightful. :D read more

Very god breakfast place, but need to get here early because the place is small and only open from 6:30 am till 2 pm. The food is delicious and the staff is attentive and friendly. I've been here before but didn't check in. That time I had eggs and toast, but this time I had the biscuits, gravy and Italian sausage. Very delicious. My wife ordered the chicken fajita which came in a huge portion. She'll be bringing it home for lunch and dinner tomorrow. I recommend this place. read more

I have been here time and time again and not once dissatisfied... there are several things on the menu that I wouldn't order just bc it doesn't sound appealing to me...but the eggs with chorizo and potatoes o'brian and them biscuits... l can go on & on about them biscuits! Keep in mind that this spot is like being in good ol' grandpa's kitchen... it can get messy and food's just delishes...not to mention that freshly squeezed OJ! Its a small venue and there might be a wait..especially on weekends..but I have to say its worth the wait! Staff is friendly adding onto the whole 'at home' feel. It was my first time here and the food was amazing hands down. I ordered a cheese and mushroom omlette with potatos and some bread. The place is a bit pricy but still very good. Service was ok. Been coming here for 18 years. Very small but the staff moves fast, the food is served hot & is always delicious... One small problem: the drive-thru.. I've used it maybe 5 times a year & each time they get my order wrong. Just went this morning & asked for a bacon breakfast burrito & they didn't put bacon in it. Don't know about you, but I fkn HATE when I get my mouth ready for something & then I get surprised by not getting it.... I didn't ask for something complicated. Just for fkn BACON!! Big difference between satisfying a customer & upsetting one. So I'm done with the drive-thru. The wait time for a table isn't bad. And at least if they forget something, you'll see it right away. read more

Cheap, fast, easy. These make a good start to a breakfast place. Also, the food was good. Even better! We needed a breakfast place since we were staying at the in-laws house just down the street and needed some semblance of sanity so we asked for a recommendation for breakfast and took off down the road. We saw this beautiful dive on the corner and headed right on in. It took a minute or two before the waitress noticed us and stopped by with some menus. Once she did, we ordered quickly, got some coffee in an instant, took a few sips, and breakfast was served. Everything was fresh and hot off the griddle. The Belgian Waffle was beautiful and cooked perfectly. The corned beef hash was good too but the waffle was better. read more

This bare-bones hole in the wall has been around for decades and is a favorite breakfast spot among the locals. The parking lot, like so many things in Downey, defies both logic and common sense. The restaurant itself is claustrophobic, and there's this crazy full-length mirror on one of the walls that really screws around with my mind. However, the corned beef hash is wonderful, as are the potatoes O'Brien. I'm not a biscuit guy, but when I go to Arthur's, well dammit, I feel like a plate of biscuits with their excellent preserves. Breakfast burrito with beans and Arthurs OJ! haven't really had much from the menu but definitely love their breakfast burrito and French toast are good as well. Small place, great customer service but a bit slow and they need to upgrade their prices on the menu and add that there's an extra fee for using your credit/debit card. I live nearby so this is defiantly my favorite breakfast spot when I'm really craving something that is homemade and tasty. Honestly everything is amazing and warm and just outstanding food and quality. I recommend anything and everything my favorites include the freshly squeezed orange juice, potatoes, egg, their ham and pancakes as well. The downside is that they close early and the actually restaurant is a bit on the small side but I usually just take out anyways. You have to absolutely try the Belgium waffles they are top notch and really the best ones for miles. It seems that everywhere I go I compare them to here and these always win. read more

I've passed by this place many times and decided to go give it a try. I read the reviews on yelp and I knew I had to order the OK and biscuits and gravy. The OJ was freshly squeezed and was delicious. The biscuits and gravy were the worst I have ever had. I've had better at norms and Dennys. I ordered the pastrami omelet and that was delicious. A+ My wife had the pancakes and bacon. That was very good and the bacon was thick so that made it even better. The sign outside reads "Best breakfast in town." They need to be sued for false advertisement. The place is a small diner with limited seating. Not too bad, it makes it feel nice and cozy. The food was OK but the part that was horrible is they used Pillsbury biscuits. A restaurant uses store bought, pressurized canned biscuits. This tells you everything you need to know about the quality of the food they are serving. The Arthur's OJ is really good. It does remind me of an Orange Julius. Parking is limited. So don't expect to find a spot the first time you pull in. read more

The waitresses here are super-friendly. It's a small place so you might have to wait a little while if you go for the breakfast, which is what they're famous for. My bf ordered the chorizo and eggs, but they served it omelette-style which was a surprise but he liked it anyway. I got eggs and ham. Their potatoes o'brien are the best ever!! They make great scrambled eggs too, they were done perfectly. This place is great, they make really tasty homestyle dishes that i will definitely be back for! I've been coming here every couple months since I was a kid. I'm 28 now and I'll continue to come here until I'm dead or it's gone. It's not that the food is mind-blowing either. The food is good but it's the atmosphere you pay fir. It's cozy and friendly and the servers are so nice. It's the quintessential coffee shop and breakfast diner. First time here. Was referred by many people to try it out. Pros: arthurs OJ is delicious and biscuits were good. Cons: its PRICEY for a diner. Steak and eggs $14.99, 2 eggs breakfast $6.99...pork chops $9.99. (Its priced like a chan restraunt) My friend ordered the pork chops, he eats anything, however the pork chops were soooo dry and over seasoned with a lot of pepper, he gave up. Oh and the coffee was extremely watery...I'm not exaggerating, you'll see. Saw a few people brought their own coffee Overall, I told my friend that i'd go back for the Arthurs OJ and that's it. Arthur's is a fantastic breakfast place. Hubby and I think good breakfast places are actually very difficult to find. Their coffee is ok, their OJ is fantastic, and their sausages are to die for. They say they make their own. Hubby almost always gets their sausage sampler. Their sausages are definitely the best around. I really like their biscuits and gravy, with really good biscuits and lots and lots of gravy. We do not always go here because we tend to be in this area in the early to late afternoons and they are closed something like 2:30pm. But if we are around, they are open and we feel like breakfast, this is where we go. read more

Great food! Cozy restaurant! Potatoes had onions asked for plain. They were a little much but decided not to complain. My mom ordered the same and had to change hers, she hates onions. I've only been here once because a friend said it was a must and she was right on one thing: best fresh squeezed OJ ever! I give it 3 stars just for that, but the food alone I would of given it 2 stars. The broccoli cheese omelette & potatoes we had were super greasy, and the waffle with frozen strawberries was just ok. Great selection of breakfast items. Nothing too fancy mostly down home and some Mexican dishes. I had the Huevos Rancheros with potatoes and beans ( then I realized everyone else had biscuits but I had tortillas ;/ ). The sauce was more of an enchilada sauce but it was decent. The chunky cut potatoes are good! So nice to find a local spot with fresh biscuits. My daughter had the a traditional American plate with the biscuits but no gravy? She didn't complain but next time we better get the gravy if they want a 5 star. I'll also order the OJ everyone is raving about. Had my car serviced in this area, and I was not feeling Starbucks, so we eyed this small eatery and went straight for it. I didn't yelp this place so I totally missed out on their famous OJ that tastes more like Orange Julius apparently and the gravy and biscuits. GRRRR! Anyway, I usually like my french toast in the a.m. and I was so pleased that they have a menu that serves a smaller portion of it! I know that sounds weird, but I'm not big on leftovers. I prefer to just finish what I'm eating without having to take it with me, without having to waste it, and without gaining a ton of weight because of it. They have a smaller menu. I had one egg, one french toast cut in two, and two sausages. Just the right amount, and just the right price! $4! It tastes like Denny's...simple sustenance.
