SCAM! They did show up to a job last nigh and I told them I would pay them over the phone once completed as I was out of the area. They showed up and refused to even touch the lock - just needed to be picked - until we paid them by venmo $650.00!!!!! I called them this morning asking to speak with someone about the cost and was told a supervisor would call me within 30 minutes. Over an hour later I called again and was told I would get a call back within 30 minutes (again), no call. Now, hours later I am calling again and they keep rejecting my call. I called a few other locksmith companies and they all told me they charge around $150.00 for the job I needed done. Absolutely the worst customer service and outrageous charges. read more

Big scam. Scam company. They sent a guy named David who gave me a quote via text, he said he worked with Artemis I even screenshotted. He walks into my car, opens and messes up my only fob and tells me he will come back with another computer to program and never shows up, doesn't answer the phone, they call from various phone numbers to not be tracked. Even the main phone line of Artemis is not responsive. Scam company avoid them at all costs. read more

Provided information and true consultation when competitors were just trying to get a quick sale. I even went with them over a less expensive offer because their knowledge and experience were clearly superior, and I'm glad I did so! I had my keys stolen and as such wanted to rekey the locks on my car. Numerous locksmiths were vague in what the cost would be and the work they needed to do. Idan at Artemis locksmiths was courteous and educated me on my situation and what needed to happen to resolve it. He kept communicating with me until we reached a deal we both felt good about. He and David showed up within the next hour. It was a hot Sunday afternoon and it took them awhile to get the job done because I have an older car, but they worked diligently the whole time and kept up good conversation with me, too. I'm really happy with the entire experience, and definitely recommend them to anyone who is dealing with difficult lock situations like mine. read more

They are the only place I could find that was somewhat close that could make Saab keys. I live an hour away from North Hollywood and they came all the way out here to re-key my car. They are a scam beware! Lost my Mercedes key on short notice, they said they could have a new key with both regular ignition and push to start function. David quoted me a price and upcharged me an additional $20.00 after finishing the job, he told me not to try the push to start function until I drove it home, as the car battery was drained and it wouldn't work. So upon getting home I tried it and it said this function doesn't work with this key. I asked that David come fix the key he said he would. He didn't respond stating he was busy several days in a row. Eventually he ghosted me not responding to any of my messages. I would never recommend this company to anybody be careful. Also the key they gave me doesn't even have proper locking and unlocking functionality. It requires you find a specific spot around the car to work the unlock and lock function. read more

Disappointed as I feel that I was conned. Called for an approximate quote to replace a lost car key, and was told it was going to be about $280. After the guy (Yirin) arrived he told me it would be about $1100 (for one key!) due to some random charges (including $370 for a pin from Volkswagen). We were in a bind and ended up "negotiating" the price to $1000 for two keys. Called the dealership the next day to see what their prices were only to find out that it would be something like $400 for a key and maximum of $600 for two. I should add that Yirin said that all dealer service centers would also have to pay that programming fee, which is apparently not true. Yirin seemed like a nice guy and did his job well, but being conned is never fun. read more

If you want someone to work in your car without a mask on, argue with you about how masks don't work coming off the height of the coronavirus pandemic in the LA area, Ian is your guy. I have a medical condition that puts me at high risk, but I also needed a working key. The key he programmed didn't work, but he suspected it was a mechanical issue with my starter or ignition and he assured me it would work once the mechanical issue was resolved. He was right about the mechanical issue and after the ignition was fixed, the key he had cut still did not work. Since the key Artemis cut did not work, we got one cut by the dealer who would not fix the Artemis key. My husband went to Ian to get it fixed and the following things happened: 1) Ian/Eyal refuses to wear a mask 2) He also says that we should pay him another $50 for him to fix the key 3) He keeps telling my husband that he should have insisted that the dealer program Artemis' third party key despite the fact that my husband explained that the dealer refused to work on someone else's key 4) He tells my husband that masks don't work anyway This is all while my husband had just picked up our daughter from a medical appointment and they were on their way home. This is the first time my family has been exposed and within 6 feet of another person WITHOUT a mask on. While I noticed that he would not wear a mask when he first came to cut the key at my home, I stayed out of being downwind of him. The car was not working so I tolerated him working in my car knowing I would have to sanitize. The car is old and not even all the dealers will cut a key for this VW, so I felt I had no choice but to endure the risk. I just want to lay this out here in case other people have medical risk at this time. Maybe call him ahead of time to ask if he will wear a mask, and if he says no, you can at least find someone who will wear one. He was a nice guy to chat with (at least with me since I did not get into mask politics with him) and he did eventually fix the key and eventually did not insist on the additional $50 since he promises satisfaction guaranteed. But my husband and he did not have such a great interaction because my husband insisted that Ian/Eyal wear a mask. My husband and daughter will now go get tested because they have now all been in close quarters inside our car without him wearing a mask. read more

Don't. They won't do anything. 6) You can spend a couple hours/days/weeks trying to find a locksmith who will do an older merz, and when you finnaly find Artemis, and he meets you at the merz dealership, and helps you Push your mercedes off their goddamn lot into the street becuase they won't let us "work" on the vehicle while on their outdoor lot (keeping in mind they wont even make a key for their product). Very disappointing that after seven years of doing business with the owner of Artemis Locksmith I find out just how little he cares about the quality of his products, and the quality of his word. If I stated all of my complaints it would take much too long to write out but I'll stick to the main ones. 1. He claimed he was giving me "same exact quality" as oem in a text he sent me then later denied ever saying that and made up a different quote before scrolling up to see the text was still there. 2. He has consistently given me lower products than he claimed he would but usually in small enough ways that I was okay with it. A Toyota key missing the middle button, a fob with no key attached and then a separate key that had to be held together. But the price was usually fair so I went on using his service. 3. Most recently he gave me a key that worked for less than a full month and before I asked for anything at all became defensive, abrasive, and rude with me. This was the real surprise because I've always liked him and thought we had a friendly relationship whenever I needed his help. The list goes on but my warning is just to find a higher quality locksmith that you can trust. read more
