1 1/2 minute read: Yesterday, my wife and I stopped by to get a key made but were shocked to find they had closed and were no longer there. Today, June 22, 2026, I went back and found the shop was now on wheels (see clip)needed a mail box key. I went up to the big van's window and was greeted by Luis, whom I didn't know. I told him I needed a mail box key made and he said OK! Since I was curious, I asked him why they vacated their shop. He said the city had been wanting them out because the shop was built w/o permits. Yet, that shop was built over 25 years ago and took them that long to figure it out? Well, in any event, they can still make keys and provide other important services you may need. I needed a mail box key and Luis wasted no time and made one for me. BTW, my wife (Josie) has been using NOHOLOCKSMITH for at least 6 years now and always received courtesy, fast service and never have they made a key that didn't work. Need a key? Fast service and lots of keys to choose from. I had 4 copies made of my house key. It was $20 for the 4 keys, including one specialty key that was $6 I think. I paid in cash so it was tax free. The owner has a great group of peeps!!! All of them helped me with the complex part of getting a new key for a car with a computer system and they calibrated the key and the new clickers with ease and they truly cared. I had a key copied at this establishment, and did not receive a receipt. I went back the next day and ask for a receipt for the key purchase. The young man who made the key and remembered me. The older abrasive, A**HOLE male that I assume owns the shop haggled with me, and was disrespectful OVER A RECEIPT!!! I wasn't asking for money or a replacement key, just A RECEIPT! I am the treasurer of an HOA, and I need to keep records of purchases for the building. After talking down to me, he finally wrote the receipt. Quite a frustrating experience. I had a double sided key that is apparently rare that I needed to have duplicated. I tried several other businesses and ended up at NoHo Locksmith. They did not have the blank but the younger gentleman suggested that I look online for one that someone might be selling the key I needed. I went home and searched online and I found a business that sells the blanks that you can take to a locksmith to have cut. I reached out to NoHo Locksmith again, before I purchased the blank, to be sure that they could cut it. I called and spoke to the older gentleman and he assured me that they could. Order placed, waited an additional week for delivery, then brought the blank in to NoHo Locksmith to be cut. Upon arrival I went over the previous conversations so that everyone was on the same page. The older gentleman cut the key in a minute or two and I was on my way. At home I attempted to insert the key into the lock and it would not go in, like at all. I reached out to the company that I bought the blank from and asked why this was happening. They asked for pictures of the front and back of the key blank, as well as the original key. Upon inspection they pointed out that the blank was cut opposite of the original key. NoHo Locksmith had cut the front of the key on the back and vice versa. It is essentially a mirror copy of the original, not an exact copy of the original. That is why the grooves in the key are not lining up with my lock. All of the time and work I put into finding a solution and 1 minute of carelessness by NoHo Locksmith flushed it all down the drain. read more

I've had keys made with NoHo Locksmith for years but never took the time to sing their praises until now...and it's not because they didn't deserve high praise before, but this time they went far and above their already excellent service. I have a one year old daughter that loves keys. In an attempt to get her less fixated on my keys, I wanted to get her a set of her own. Claudio (the owner) says to me "I have daughters...let me get you hooked up". He gives me some old keys he wasn't using and sold me a couple other key chains and now they're her favorite "toy". You know a business is the best when they have been in business as long as NOHO Locksmith has. The staff in the cool little shack (it quite big inside) are so friendly and helpful. I've been getting keys duplicated for years. This time though I needed a key fob, and a blank key to be cut, they have the latest technology to do this. Because I couldn't start my car with out the key fob one of their technician came to my home and programed my key fob in about 15 minutes and the price surprised me, it was much lower than I expected. I smashed my fob key my jaguar, which wasn't a cheap fix but far better than what they would have charged me at the dealership. He took care of everything while I was in the grocery store. I do NOT recommended this business for Car key Fob replacements. Ended up spending a fortune on two keys, over two separate visits, only for a few days later to find my car had trouble starting. Turns out the car key fob chip on the key I bought from him ($120) was "too far" away from the ignition; the guy didn't cut down the proper shaft length before the teeth were cut. The auto shop finally figured it out after many attempts replacing other parts. Estimated ~ $700 spent in this ordeal. read more

I've been coming to this small kiosk-like mini hut off & on since the late 1970's. Many operators have come & gone since that time, but the Hispanic gentleman who runs it most of the time now is thoughtful, patient, thorough every time I needed duplicate keys. Basically it is a lock smith so if you lock yourself out of home or car, they can help you get back in. They can also install gate controllers, electronic access controllers, intercoms, aluminum & glass door repair, commercial & residential locks, electronic car keys, programmed home or car remotes. By the sign, they also seem to sharpen knives. Good place to get lock services in the North Hollywood - Valley Glen area. The business card says since 1945. read more
