Well after about 3-4 years I think Mr.Lee needs a refresher. I learned about him through a roommate…read morehaving a rip sewn in his favorite shirt. Our dentist is in the same building. So I thought I'd get a suit altered, pants let out that are a bit too tight, And moth damage to repair in some sweaters. I'll start with the suit. He made a slightly bigger size Prada, fit like a glove. I also wanted the original lining replaced and done in full, which I used from a plus size man's pants that weren't wearable anymore. At first he was confused at what I wanted done to the pants since he thought the original looked fine to him, but I carefully explained when came back to pick up the suit jacket and repair work. I think he understood then. For suit and pants, he's a gem of a tailor. I used to have a very trusted tailor at Presto valet, but he moved on so I've been keeping my eye out for one that can fit different sizes to an individual fit. He did just that! Any kind of specialized tailoring job you need, he's the one. I'm very impressed with the work he did on the pants. The front pockets are behind the lining like I like so I don't feel it. I had a couple silk PJ pants that ripped, and he patched it. I was worried the patch would be rough, but it's not surprisingly. Everything done up to here is high quality. Prices were comparable to other tailors. 14 for let out. The jacket a bit more 69 for the waist and 39 for the sleeves, and 50 for the lining work What I can't recommend Mr.Lee for is sweater repair/moth holes, especially cashmere. I explained I wanted the holes repaired, and the first time I came for pick up. He said "all repair" which I took to mean all holes were repaired. When I check them later at home, one wasn't touched and a few still had holes bigger than pinholes. I wasn't pleased after spending 100+ for repair work. I took back the sweaters in question and took even more pants to be let out. (Sucks when the waist changes and costly) He looked at me confused when I showed them and said you miss these holes..., but then said "I don't work with this one. Too difficult" I went ohhhh, and was like why did you tell me all repaired. I was just like let it go in my mind and find somewhere else, and jokingly said "no more sweaters for you" and laughed as I walked out.

Mr. Lee is outstanding. Not only can he alter a men's or women's jacket perfectly, or modify a pair…read moreof trousers or a skirt, he does beautiful work on complicated pieces like boning and beading.

I was introduced to Park's Dress Design and Alterations by a relative of mine, who has had some garments (blouses, dresses, pant suits, etc.) altered over the years. Mrs. Park (she also goes by Sunny) hemmed up a few of my dress slacks and corrected the sleeve lengths on one of my suits and I was pleased with the work. While the prices might be on the higher side as opposed to having these type of alterations done at a dry cleaner, Mrs. Park has had her tailoring business open in Fairfax County for over 25 years, so she must be doing something right. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has encountered challenges purchasing masks/face coverings during this COVID-19 pandemic. What makes things worse is all the conflicting information the public has been receiving on this topic. In late-February and early-March we were told face coverings "aren't effective" and "do more harm than good" so don't wear one. I was always a bit skeptical of this guidance since during my travels to Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, etc, face masks are very common. So once the "official" guidance was for folks to wear some sort of face covering, all of the masks at drug stores and on-line were sold out or available at exorbitant prices. On a whim, I called Mrs. Park to see if she had started to make any cloth masks, and luckily she had. Her business has experience a dramatic decline due to everyone staying home, but like many businesses, she's had to pivot to adjust to a changing market place. Kudos to her for being resourceful. She has a two main styles of masks to choose from in a variety of colors and patterns. What I like about these masks is there is a small metal piece that contours around the nose and two side slits for additional filtration. I find two small square pieces of trimmed paper towels work pretty well. These are also machine washable and I was told cold water works best. When i picked up my four masks for myself and family, there was a lady who was picking up seven for herself (one for each day). The masks are $15 each and while there are lots of patterns you can download off the Internet and plenty of "how to" tutorials on Youtube, it's worth it for me to just have a professional do it for me. Hours have been reduced during the pandemic, so I recommend calling first to see if she's open and if there are any masks to available for purchase.

There were so many beautiful dresses that made me look and feel incredible. When it came time to choose between two that I loved Teuta was not only gentle with me she read my mind! She knew which dress I loved but was worried to say it cause it was a bit different. Man did she me like a book and I'm soooo glad she did. It gave me the courage to say yes to the different dress! And one more important item, DO NOT SLEEP ON THE VEILS. They are showstopping gorgeous. I think we said yes to the veil before we said yes to the dress! Teuta and her team are wonderful, the gowns are stunning, and I cannot wait to continue my journey to the big day with them.

I shopped during their Amsale trunk show after contacting the store via Instagram to ask about their little white dress availability. I was so glad that I tried Zoya's because my consultant Amy went above and beyond to show me all their options, educate me on the timeline expectations/accessory options/pricing, and help me try on the dresses. Most importantly, I was not pressured to purchase or to make a decision at the appointment. Amy then helped me find a way to expedite the shipping of my dress when my event date changed to be much sooner than what I expected. She kept me updated on the shipping and contacted me as soon as the dress arrived for me to go in for a fitting. Their prompt communication reduced the stress I had and I really appreciated that. I had a total of 3 fittings before I picked up my dress, and the alternations service was also superb. My dress arrived 1 week before my event date and I was impressed with the speed and quality of the alternations. The seamstress had sewn in more support parts (like the back of a bra) so the bodice was much more comfortable and better fitted. I also picked up a necklace to go with the dress. Looking back at my holistic experience, I truly believe that no matter which dressed I picked or what size of wedding I had, they were committed in giving me their best customer service for the entire process. If I ever hold a vow renewal, I will certainly choose Zoya's again.
