The price is also awesome, 3 bucks for a small (8), 4 for a medium, 5 for a large, and 6 for a specialty which only come in large. Even a small is perfect to share for a tasty snack. Saw an art city post on Instagram that they were parked nearby and decided to check them out. Hot, fresh donuts in 90 degree weather isn't normally my jam, but wanted to get a taste and went anyways. My group ordered a load of donuts, their Peaches and Cream special, Lemon Bar special, regular maple, and some little glazed guys. Overall I though the donuts were a solid 3.5 stars... They definitely could have been fried a second or two longer go get a crisper outer crust, but the insides were super soft and crumbly. As food truck that I visited on my way through Orem, these donuts are some of the best I have tasted. We bought the cinnamon donuts and the chocolate donuts. They are the smaller types of donuts, but you only need one order (medium or large) for two people. Donuts come in three sizes, small, medium, and large, and the specialty donuts of the day only come in the large. The donuts were fluffy, light, and very sweet. They almost melted in your mouth. I could only eat a couple, but I really wanted to eat more. At the time, they had french toast donuts which seemed to be more traditional glazed donuts. The cinnamon donuts had sweet cinnamon and a glaze sauce perfectly placed on the basked of donuts. The chocolate donuts just had a chocolate sauce splatter on the donuts. The donut fairies were magically fast and friendly. Despite the number of customers, the donuts were quickly presented to us. I really liked Art City Donuts and I am not really a donut fan. Therefore, I think you need to track them down and perhaps even drive down to Orem or Provo for a basket of delicious donuts. read more

I'm not a huge fan of donuts but these are delicious. We have tried all of their flavors and by far our favorite are Boston cream and blue berry crumble. Also, I think they are very inexpensive considering that if you order one of their specialities the price ranges from 6-7 and you get 18 mini donuts which believe it or not it's a lot for one person ( and enough to share!). I truly like my donuts and so I was extremely excited to try these donuts. I had also seen them in a buzzfeed article so that gave me even more incentive to try what they called one of the best donuts in the country. I ate at the art city donuts when they were stationed in front of the RC Wiley In Draper. They had a few specials that day which included the s'mores and the regular menu items which included the glazed, powdered and cinnamon flavor. I ended up getting the s'mores and it was a very generous portion. The first few bites were very delicious but because it was such a big portion, I recommend that you share with family and friends. It seemed impossible to finish the whole basket and became too heavy to continue eating. I would suggest this place but would recommend people to share. read more

I ordered the boston cream donuts, which I was very excited about. I had read other reviews that had said they taste just like funnel cakes from the fair. I didnt know if that made me more excited to try them or less. I would have to agree that they did remind me of funnel cake. After my first bite my thoughts were "wow these are fantastic!" My second bite thoughts were "still pretty good." But by the third donut I was over them. Too sweet and they left a strange film in my mouth. I don't even like donuts at all, and these were delicious! We tried two kinds, the Cinnabomb and glazed donuts with coconut crunch topping. Both were delicious, but in the end the coconut ones won out a bit for us. The Cinnabomb was amazing, but a bit intense- coated in cinnamon sugar, topped with piped icing, and further topped with chunks of cinnamon sugar. If you are a donut enthusiast, you should try your hand at designing your own donuts from the options on the menu. And if you're not a donut enthusiast, you should come here anyway. I haven't tried anything outside of their Maple Icing donuts, but will say they taste exactly like the best pancakes you've ever had. Don't expect to eat them with your hands, though. They are WAY messy and kind of difficult to share. So get your own. And forget about calories and sugar count, you might need an insulin shot after this. But really, pancakes from heaven shaped like donuts. If I ever see them at the Lehi food truck underground, I always *always* stop, even if I'm already full. Realize that these need to be shared and that they should have a half dozen because this way too many. Let me start by saying that I have a soft spot in my heart for freshly made donuts, especially those of the teeny tiny variety. I get that first whiff of dough in the fryer and warm cinnamon sugar and I'm immediately whisked back to my childhood, standing at a window and watching a magic little conveyor system churning out countless mini donuts that I remember as being one of the best things I had ever tasted (although, to be fair, I wasn't a very tough critic back then). The first time I tried Art City Donuts was at the FTL (Food Truck League) Daybreak Roundup. They were good-- really good. We got an order of half cinnamon sugar and half maple. We tried them first while they were still hot and they were fabulous-- slightly crispy on the outside, nice and moist on the inside. But, we were so full from all the other food that we tried that a good portion of them came home with us. Later that night we all tried them again, and liked them just as much (if not more) once they cooled down a bit. The flavors seemed to get even better, they didn't get soggy and the maple glaze had a chance to set nicely (no longer a terribly sticky goo). Now that we were officially Art City fans, we were stoked to see them at the roundup a couple of weeks later. This time, we were careful to save some room for dessert. And, unfortunately... they just weren't that good the second time around. They were smaller, denser, almost soggy-ish (or... at least not crispy by any stretch of the imagination) and just sort of... meh. Not worth the calories (which is hard to say about my beloved mini donuts). I'm pretty laid back with such things-- I mean... I cut a lot of slack for my food truck peeps. I know how hard consistency is to pull off... and frying stuff in that little trailer? Geez. So, a couple weeks later, we gave them one last chance. Being careful to save enough room for our treat, we made our way over to the Art City trailer, (fully expecting to see a line) only to see that they were... closed? Wait, what? We already had enough time to buy food from quite a few other food trucks, eat it, chase after children who were chasing after ducks (who were, for the record, chasing after the children in expectation of some food truck grub for themselves). Several other groups of people were standing around, exchanging awkward smiles while we each wrestled with our internal dialogue of "Okay, I really want my friggin' donuts..." and "How long do we stand here before we start looking sad and desperate?" Perhaps they were just having some technical difficulties? Again, I'm giving them a little extra rope on this stuff. I've researched it... the food truck biz ain't as easy as you'd think. Anyway... finally the awning opened and the people rejoiced! And, when we each plucked a little gem from that mountain of hot, fried, sugar coated carbs, it was like... ... Meh. Total replay of the previous experience. Gah. That's the second time in a row I spent $8 on a pile of donuts that went virtually untouched on my kitchen counter until they became inedible the next morning. That. Doesn't. Happen. Not at my house, at least... The next time we saw Art City (at Petersen Family Farm), my kids didn't even raise an eyebrow in their general direction. Oh well. We cannot say enough good things about Muriel and everyone else who runs Art City Donuts!! For background, we live in Boston and LOVE the apple cider donuts found in most orchards on the East Coast. As we planned our wedding in Salt Lake City, we decided that we wanted to provide this favorite food for our wedding guests. However, as it turns out, no other donut place in the Salt Lake or Utah county areas knows how to make a proper apple cider cake donut. We taste-tested and emailed and contacted all the other big names in Utah, but it wasn't until we talked with Art City Donuts that we finally felt a sigh of relief. Muriel (the owner) hadn't previously made the flavor we were looking for, but she consulted with us, researched recipes, and offered a donut testing for us (at no extra cost!) to see if the flavors matched up to what we were looking for. Muriel put no pressure on us at all to use her if we didn't like the donuts, but they were more than perfect. We loved the mini size, the fact that she custom-designed the recipe for us, and how personable and easy she was to work with. We ordered SO MANY individual mini donuts for our wedding reception and our guests raved about them. We even took some with us to our honeymoon and ate them on the beach--happy to say that they kept well and we wish we had brought hundreds more with us!! We know that Art City Donuts often serves their donuts in huge servings from their food truck, so we can't speak to the standard portion sizes, but as for the individual donuts, they were perfectly fresh, flavored, and fried and we couldn't be happier to have found this business. They made things so easy for us in terms of catering, cut us a great deal, and we wholeheartedly recommend using them for any event--especially if you want everyone to leave happy. This is another fun sort of truck, but more novelty than anything. Fresh donuts are always great and they use a very nice batter here. Toppings are a bit excessively sweet for my taste, but I don't lean towards sweet in general, so that may just be me. Definitely not unsatisfied or anything, but I wouldn't put this in the upper echelon of donuts I've ever had nor would I think of this if I wanted one. Not actually a fan. I expected something similar to small Krispy Kreme donuts. These tasted like really light and crispy, fried versions of cake donuts. Eh. I thought the flavor was fine, but the texture just wasn't great. They were slightly gummy, possibly not cooked all the way through. I like how tiny they are, so I can just get an order and my family can just snack on a couple, rather than dedicating ourselves to one huge donut, but it just wasn't screamin' awesome. I drove pretty far just to get donuts for my birthday 6/5 (which was also National Donut Day). I wanted to try these for so long and it was well worth the drive! I have a major sweet tooth. MMMM Donuts. Okay so these are the little donuts you usually find at fairs and such, not the big donuts you get from a bakery. They're cooked right there on the truck, staff is friendly. You get a lot for your money. My favorite is simply sugar and cinnamon, but I like the Boston Cream too. My biggest complaint is they are never in South West Orem, and the places they choose are usually out of the way. I'd go more often, but they're rarely close enough to be worth the drive. read more

If you are planning a private event or wedding and you are thinking about Art City Donuts, you might want to re-think the food at your event or have a back up plan. There seems to be a lot of problems in general with their trailer/equipment. We booked them for a wedding reception and there were problems with the truck which spilled out into the whole first hour of our reception.
