It took me almost four years of living in Utah to finally visit a Zeppe's. After my most recent visit, I hope to go to Zeppe's many more times in the future. I appreciate that their menu is quite simple and that this location has a drive through. This makes everything very easy. There is a bit of a running joke about how high the drive through window is but I am assuming this is far out of Zeppe's control. I decided on the cotton candy one in the smallest size. I don't like eating ice cream very fast so this ended up being the best size for me. The order did take quite a while to get but it was about as fresh as ice cream can be so I didn't mind. We also got a few of their churro treats and they were super good--even better when they're nice and warm. 10/10 gelata. 3/10 service. There was a flyer on the window that said scan the QR code and fill out your info to get a free kids gelata. I scanned it and told the cashier - who looked like he was maybe 15 years old. He said, "Sorry I don't know what that is. I've worked here for a year and don't know what a lot of things are." And left it at that. I had to prompt him, well.. can you go ask someone? He seemed annoyed but did. The other kid that came out looked also 15 years old. He said "yeah sorry we're not sure what that is." I told them they should probably take off the promo off their drive through window if no one knows how to do it. I asked if he could just take the kids gelata off my order and he was nice enough to say yes, but woof! Team needs a lesson in customer service. I hope they see this so they can improve because the ice cream was so good. read more

This place is one of my favorite dessert places. I wish I lived closer. I got a gelata which is Italian ice with custard on top. Italian ice is far superior to shaved ice in my opinion. I love this place. It's perfect on a hot day. I love how they have a drive thru. I do wish there was a location in Orem. Their frozen custard is delicious. Be aware that, when you order the Italian Ice, you'll really mostly be getting a bunch of the worst soft serve ice cream this side of Sicily. First thing I did was scoop the large McDonalds ice cream cone off the top as an offering to the asphalt gods. I was feeling just okay with the Italian Icelike substance - until I got three-quarters through my cup and realized that the bottom had been filled with more of that nasty soft serve. We have been huge fans of the vanilla custard...so thick and rich! However, within the past month or so, something has changed. The custard is now like a cheap ice milk, no more of the very rich flavor or texture. I decided to go grab a custard tonight, thinking that maybe I just got a bad batch. Been here twice in the last week. Everything is good that I've had but yesterday night I got some frozen custard in a cone, watched them make it and put it on the counter next to the window and then... do other stuff. It was at least 5 minutes, maybe 10. By the time I got it it was melting. It is summer and very hot out and I had walked there so as science would demand it only melted more and more. I love the custard and Italian ice however, the lack of napkin dispensers make for a pretty messy visit especially with a toddler. Then when you ask for napkins they give you three. I think having napkin dispensers available for the people sitting outside would really help. read more

Very delicious! I had never heard of this place and stopped at a food truck in the parking lot and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! The Italian ice was delicious. I got strawberry paradise (I believe it's like a strawberry colada). The kids size was perfect. I also got a pretzel and I wish I got more. One of the best pretzels I've ever had! My husband got the churro donut and liked it. I read some complaints about the drive thru but I didn't have any issues. The service was pretty fast and really nice. Definitely will be back! My husband and I are absolutely obsessed with this place! We pick up or have it delivered probably 4-5 Times a month, I cant have dairy and my husband loves custard so its the perfect place for both of us, plus their pretzels with the nacho cheese is soo good too! The italian ice is so soft and custard is super creamy and we live for the first day of the month to see on instagram what the flavor of the month is. Then the people who work there are delightful as well, always have a smile on their face and super helpful if we ever have questions. Oh, my goodness. We don't eat dairy and stopped to try this place on a whim after a funeral. Such a good choice. I tried the Purple Haze (lime Rickey and cotton candy), and my husband tried the sunset (I think) in a Gelati with strawberry dole whip, and both were fantastic. Our new favorite place for a treat!! Stopped by yesterday because I had a hankering for gelato. I don't know what you call they serve as gelato but it isn't gelato. More like a frozen drink what soft serve ice cream in the middle. It was good, but to label it as gelato is not accurate, even in Utah. Needless to say I was greatly disappointed. We purchased a quart of the month's special, Birthday Cake, for our kids. We all had a long day, and this was supposed to be their treat. the BD custard was...to put it mildly...flat out gross. Even our two-year-old son (who eats EVERYTHING) wouldn't touch it. So we spent $10 on this thing. When it was handed to us at the drive thru, the teenager said, "I don't know who made this, but it's leaking all over the place." We asked him to wipe off the leaking ice cream (why would you even need to ask for them to do that!?), and he replied, "Yeah, the container is overflowing, so it's just going to leak." We said, "Understood, but we can't have it like that in our car. Can we just scrape off the excess into another cup, then wipe the quart container so it's not dripping everywhere?" The kid rolled his eyes but gave us an extra cup. He didn't wipe the container, just gave it to us and then proceeded to wipe his own hands clean--it was that messy. We got home, tried the custard, and you know the rest. So we just got off the phone with the Springville, UT Zeppe's, explained the situation, and the girl on the phone said, "Yeah, I don't like it either. Not many people do. But my manager said we 'can't really do exchanges' since you opened it." So yes, Zeppe's makes horrid-tasting product, sells it while knowing it tastes like dog vomit, and then laughs when you dare ask yo exchange it for something not so Parmesan-tasting. They basically stole $10 from us, and it ruined our view of this company. We'll never go back. read more
